Second time I've bought a Lucid brand bed!

I recently decided to give myself an upgrade from the Lucid twin XL size I purchased a few years ago. While the XL is still going strong, I wanted something a bit bigger for my new space. So, I went with the same 10" model I had bought before, but this time around I choose a full-sized firm mattress
verses XL medium feel I own. Overall, I am very impressed with the firm feel! It has a little give (~1/2 - 3/4") when you lay down, but not enough to make you sink into the bed like the medium one (~1" or more). Also, it's been much better on my back as I'm tossing and turning significantly less than I did on the twin XL one. As for the packaging of the mattress, it was really easy to pop the tape off that was holding it together with my hands. I found it easy to unroll vacuum bag the mattress came in and get it setup before I opened it all the way. The vacuum bag was even easier to open than the previously purchased one, which made it very simple to use. It had a pressed seam that ran along the entire bottom and it was really easy to pull apart and exposed the bottom half of the mattress. It began to inflate instantly and I flipped it over to remove the packaging from the top half. I waited about 9 hours for it to fully inflate with air before I even tried to lay out it. The corners haven't fully released but they will come out over the next 24-36 hours like it did on the other one I own and completely fill out the cover its wrapped in. If you have pets of any kind pet(s) that shed, I suggest getting an additional barrier as their hair/fur will seep into the protective cloth layer and it will make cleaning it a nightmare. As for cleaning my mattress, I lightly sprinkle some baking soda on the Lucid cloth covering and wait a couple hours. Then, I use a pet brush attachment on my vacuum to pull up the remaining baking soda until it smells fresh again. You can (optionally) spray a lite amount of Febreeze on the covering and let that dry for a scented smell. Personally, I think lavender works well here and I spray it on my pillow coverings as well. It helps me calm down and the bed smells great for months!

I had purchased the plush Lucid mattress for my other house & that one was PERFECT. Needed another mattress & for some reason could not ship the plush to Hawaii. But the medium mattress could be shipped, so I went with that. If you are reading this then you know mattresses are a very personal choice.
How can a mattress feel like sleeping in a cloud & also feel like sleeping on a slab of concrete? Is there truly that much difference in 2 people’s experience? Or is it quality control of the memory foam? At any rate, I had a good experience with Lucid once. And had a bad experience with a different brand where the new mattress had zero support & gave me back pain like I’ve never experienced before. It also was so hot! And if you get the mattress & don’t like it, good luck getting it back into the box & returning it! I ended up selling it to some poor soul that didn’t know what a torture thing the mattress was. But hey, there were a gazillion 5 star reviews on that brand. Maybe the buyer got an almost brand new “like sleeping on a cloud in an inferno” for a fraction of the price! Anyways, back to this medium support Lucid. It’s OK. I wake up with ZERO back pain & does not retain heat, so maybe it does deserve a 5 star instead of 4 star. But, I just wish it had a tad bit more softness. Like maybe one or two more inches of soft memory foam. I’ve had it for a couple months. I am hoping as it breaks in it will soften up a bit. This mattress is probably good for people larger than I. And I sleep alone with a couple little furry friends. I tried putting a 3” memory foam mattress topper on it but it was too much, a little too soft. Maybe a 1” or 2” topper will work. Don’t get me wrong, I really do like this mattress. No back pain is worth a lot!!! This mattress is almost perfect! I would have traded the plush for this medium, but he let the old dog sleep on it with no waterproof protection & guess what? He can keep it! Also, the softer they are the faster they degrade. That plush mattress… the person sleeping on it is about 30-40lbs heavier than me. He’s been sleeping on it for 5 years & its has an indentation where he sleeps. But he has not complained about that. He does complain about the fact that there’s no support at the edges when you sit. That is true for any memory foam mattress. He ended up putting padded side boards on his bed frame to give it support (my bed frame already has side boards, which is perfect for memory foam!) I really wish I could have ordered the plush Lucid, even if I would have to replace it in 5 years. For the price, to me, it’s worth it. That plush mattress was perfect, this medium is almost perfect & since it is firmer, hopefully it will last a little longer. Good luck with the search for the perfect mattress! If you can afford to pay a little more, buy one at Costco or somewhere that you can return it if it doesn’t work for you. Or go to a mattress store & take a lie down on different brands. Or lie down on a friend’s memory foam & see how it feels. There’s just no way to know, since every mattress on Amazon has contradictory reviews. I do believe that if you are not sure, go with the firmer one. If it’s too firm, you can always put a topper on it. But if it’s too soft & causes crippling pain & makes you feel like you are sleeping in an inferno of heat, you are pretty much screwed. I do recommend this medium Lucid mattress. It is a good mattress at an affordable price.

It's actually FIRM, But wonderfully so

The bed is so amazingly comfortable but had some pulled/cut fabric

vy but my son brought it up the stairs for me. We used the tool Lucid gives you for opening the plastic/ when we put it on my frame we noticed snagged material with some cushion coming through. I would honestly return for another because I bought a new bed not one with pulled fabric but I slept on it and OMG beat sleep ever! It’s firm but soft. It’s literally perfect for my. It’s also a great temp so I didn’t feel too hot or cold! Anyway I’m going to give it a 4 because of the snagged bedding but it truly is a five. Returning it sounds awful since I can’t imagine getting this returned now that it’s all unrolled and fluffy. If Lucid would like to contact me and tell me how I can return that would be great. My 7 year old loves his new mattress! I wanted him to have a very comfortable memory foam mattress so he’d get sound sleep on school nights and in general, and it’s working! He’s a rough sleeper who tosses and turns, and I think the (appropriately) firm memory foam helps prevent that. Would buy again
and probably will when I move him from Twin XL to full!

Fit the RV like it is suppose too.

Mattress came ahead of schedule. Directions to unpack and let it settle were clear. It felt like the mattress at home so no new adjustments the first night(s) on the road. We should have gotten the 8 inch size to allow the closet doors to open and close easier.

SUPER soft while still offering support!

This is the second mattress I've bought (twin XL). I bought this identical mattress two years ago for my son's first apartment & it still offers great support! (it's now his guest bed, so my daughter & I were able to take turns sleeping on it at night while visiting him in another state). My daughter
loved it so much that she wanted one for her 1st apartment too. It quickly arrived & fluffed up to its full 10" size within a few hours (but she's not going to sleep on it until after the recommended 24-hour wait period). It's super soft, but not too soft that it makes my 54 yo back hurt. We all absolutely love it!
