  • Great quality and easy to install
What a surprise this was. We had to take a 95 year old relative in our home and we turned our large living room into a living room/sleep area for her. The walls were done with expensive paneling and we thought of a nice decorative door in the future when we turned it back into a living room full time. For the time being we were looking for a temporary, cheap solution to give her a sense of privacy in her area. I chose a finish that looked like it would match are paneling fairly well. Our doorway was 37 inches, but we went with this door anyway. When it arrived, the finish matched our paneling perfectly, and the door looks like it was made to go with the paneling. We decided that there will be no need to replace the door in the future, because this one looked so nice. It was easy to put up, but you do need a second person to hold the tracts so you can attach them, and thread the doorway on the tracts. It is a bit too cumbersome to put it up alone. The plastic snaps appeared to be flimsy, but they hold the one side of the door, and the magnetic clip holds the door closed. It fits the 37 inch doorway with plenty to spare. Our guest is old and a bit unsteady and the door has been subject to her cane, bumping, and her grabbing it to steady herself and the plastic clips seems to hold just fine. What was thought to be a flimsy door for a temporary solution, appears to be a very fine addition to the decor and functions very well. UPDATE: 18 months later, this door took so much abuse. My elderly mother-in-law was unsteady and ended up hanging on to the door at various times. She fell once through it and ran her wheelchair into it countless times. It held up to all of that and looks as good as the day we put it in. It has been a great purchase and still going strong. ... show more

  • Best around $50 I've spent this year
This is perfect for my needs at the moment. Pros: 1. Fair price 2. Durable (use everyday and still looks like it did right after it was installed) 3. Sleek looking (opinion). Not tacky at all. 4. Installation is easy. Cons: 1. It will require inches to be sawed off the bottom if your doorway is not 80 inches or almost 7 ft. (this is mentioned in the post as well). I had to saw it to 78 inches (6.5 ft.). Also, a hand saw will not do. You need saw with a motor. This is not really that much of a con. Just an annoyance because I am not "handy". a. They give you extra inches in case more is needed as not all doorways are 78 inches like the one where this door is installed. b. The fact that you need a motorized saw to trim this door is good. If you could saw it with a manual handsaw, then the material must be thin, non-durable and without privacy. 2. The door latch (frame) is weak. My cat can open it with one paw. So I purchased some velcro refastenable strips (similar to Command but stronger) from Amazon to use and removed the clasp completely from the door frame. This piece along with what it should attach to to close, should be a very strong magnet-type material. It would be great if these had some type of locking mechanism too. If I need another accordion door, this is where I will purchase it. ... show more

  • Good, relatively soundproof, but sticks!
For what this is, and the price, it’s a great door. We are using it as a bathroom door, and it’s as soundproof if not more so than the original wooden door. It looks good and was relatively easy to install. Our one complaint is that several of the panels have a tendency to get stuck together when the door is open, and do not come loose when we try to close the door, so we have to shake the door or pull it very hard to break the static or plastic interaction. We solved this problem by adding small foam spacers between the door folds so the panels don’t touch when the door closes. Overall it’s a great door and we’re happy with it, especially for this price. Update a year and a half later: The door gets used multiple times per day. We haven’t had any more problems with it sticking since adding the foam spacers. It’s held up great, still opens and closes smoothly. We had some small issues with the wheels sticking, but some WD40 (FOR PLASTIC) cleared that right up. The plastic edging the door closes into has cracked from being bumped by us, but is still holding up remarkably well. Still very happy with this purchase. ... show more

  • Easy to install once you understand the directions
For the price this folding door is awesome. Instructions are a little hard to figure out based on whether you are installing from the left or the right, but their website has very good videos to quickly clear that up. Took me about 30 minutes to install but I took my time. It was a perfect fit for a 80x32 door frame. No cutting needed. They also include a few extra pieces of hardware just in case you lose any pieces. ... show more

  • Great door to keep noise in/ out
We just installed ours a couple days ago and I love it!!! The apartment my husband and I are renting from now did not have a door on the bedroom (weird, right?) and so when I would go to bed and he was still up on the tv and talking with his friends, it was really hard for me to fall asleep and stay asleep. Since the door has been up, I don't have this issue at all. My husband is a loud dude, but this door makes it so I don't really hear him when it's time for me to go to sleep. When it came, it was slightly too big on the one side of the doorway (we are in an old house so the floors are slightly slanted). It was easy enough to saw down about an inch and put the screws back in and hang up. Also, when we go to move, if the landlord doesn't want it up, it will be very easy to take back down. So happy with this door. It seems pretty tough so I hope it will last... I highly recommend it! ... show more

  • Good product, poorly packaged
Purchased directly from seller as it was to arrive more quickly than had we ordered through Amazon. Would be very happy with the product - seems heavier and more durable than many - but the packaging was terrible. Door was slopping around inside the battered box with absolutely no padding. Fed Ex driver suggested I decline the package. That tells you how poorly it was packaged. I did a quick inspection and decided to accept. Turned out one corner did get a bit busted up. I cut back the broken channel and reinstalled the screw. Hoping it holds up. It would be well worth the extra effort on the seller's part to go a step further with packaging and shipping. Why build a decent product only to risk destroying it with sloppy packaging? ... show more

  • Effective accordion door
I was concerned that the item was made of plastic and would look "cheap". That is not the case, the door looks nice. The door was easy to install. The application was a small closet at the back of a hallway where there is not much space. The prior wooden folding doors used up a lot of space and made it difficult to reach in the back of the closet. The new door stacks well and allows easy reach. I am now looking to replace the folding doors in the laundry closet with the same but wider door if available. ... show more

  • Great, fun door!
I bought this to put a door in a doorway. I was able to install it myself with no help, but I am handy that way. I did not enjoy having to hacksaw the bottom of the door to fit the doorway. It took me a few tries and in the end I cut off too much so there is a gap beneath the door. Oh well! Everything else went smoothly and I love my door. The cats can open it, which is good because they need to be able to come and go at their leisure. I cut out letters to spell "private" and put them on the panels on the outside of the door, so that when it's closed it says PRIVATE and when it's open it says nothing. The door opens and closes smoothly, and gives me the privacy I need when I need it. ... show more
