Very lightweight, got the 800 holds plenty of line for me (10lbx8braid). Have caught about 80-100 bass/sunfish on it so far and a 6lb blue cat and another unknown 8-12lb cat that got me hung up on a log, nothing has exploded or came loose yet and I never tightened anything down. For the price you get something big money can't even buy, a perfectly capable reel of handling more than you think. People might complain about there being a tiny bit of slack in the handle to the bearing but without slack you then have a handle that doesn't turn. If I wanted to really nitpick there is only a 2 things i could complain if I really tried, 1. bail bearing (line guide) isn't perfectly lined up with the bail to a tiny tolerance [ie. tolerance is at least larger than .15mm, line will wedge itself in between if it's real windy or loose reeling, you will have to manually pull it out if it happened. Has only happened to me 3 times so far, a little more often than some "other" 4x expensive reels 2. drag is a tiny bit grabby before it first clicks on (ie. 9lb then 8lb afterwards) yeah that's it. I ordered a second one in 500 for 8lb test. this reel is light as it gets without some extra mods.

This reel packs a punch that you wouldn’t expect from a little size 500. The drag is great, very easy to use, and it looks nice too. My one minor nit pick is that sometimes when casting, the line will catch on the place where you first tie to on the spool - but it’s not bad enough to lessen my rating. I may end up getting another for a separate rod set up in the future

very stiff, only just beginning to test it. some parts feel cheap but thats to be expected considering the company went ballsdeep into making this reel as light as possible - which it is. Holy crap is it ever light. bail has a hard close youd expect to find on a 3000+ size reel but I always close my bail manually so meh side note: will hold a spool of 110yd 4lb xl nabbed an 11" brook trout on this paired with the Lew's 4'6 crappie rod. Handing makes an amazing 4'6 ultralight but this setup is going to live in the excab of my truck and Id rather have the lews back there than the considerably more sensitive, delicate and frankly beautiful handing. update: after using this little thing for a couple weeks I can honestly say it loosened up perfectly and the lews handle has grown on me dramatically (fits so well in the hand & its a much sturdier rod). The reel has held its own and for what they're asking it's a steal. whole rod/reel combo weighs less than half a pound. amazing. added a star.

Better than kastking zephyr in every way. It’s like an upgraded lighter zephyr. Buy it and you won’t be disappointed. It’s so light and the best UL or sfs reel you can get. Most guys have no idea what a real UL set up feels like. If you aren’t fishing a set up less than 6oz you aren’t really bfs/sfs/UL fishing. In order to do that you would usually have to spend hundreds of dollars on a set up but with this reel you can achieve it for much less. You either get it or you don’t.

I love this reel for it's size, smooth operation, and versatility. It's very adjustable with drag as well as handle. Easy to mount and the surface finishes are very smooth. Graphics are cool and I like the bright blue and silver color combination. The bale flips easily and releases as required with a turn of the handle. The handle must turn about 1 complete rotation for the bale to flip so keep that in mind. It holds a lot of line, enough for spare line if you snag far out. Overall, I really like this reel and have added it to my collection for lake fishing medium to large fish.

This reel is small, lightweight and has only basic features. (There’s no anti-reverse switch or quick way to fold-in the handle. You just have to unscrew it and fold it back.) The handle can be switched for a right or left-handed person by unscrewing both pieces. It’s minimalist, but on the plus side, there’s less stuff to break. The reel holds about 150 ft of 6lb line and I was able to easily cast a ¼ ounce spinner about 25 yards . The bail is a little stiff and takes some muscle to flip over only using the handle so a young kid might have a harder time. I found myself just flipping the bail over by hand. The 5:1 retrieve is quite smooth. Paired with a lightweight telescopic rod, it has become my go-to travel combo.
