I have been stalking LUS for years and not willing to pull the trigger because of shipping costs. Now that I can get it on Amazon, there's probably no going back. This product feels lightweight going in, defines my curls, and dries looking and feeling like... My hair. Not stiff or crunchy or wet looking. And I didn't use anything else with it! I had been using devacurl (after years of layering various drugstore products) and I always used some kind of spray to set that because the hold wasn't enough - i didn't realize that it was also weighing down my curls until comparing to LUS. LUS withstands going to outdoor summer functions and sleeping on it and my hair is still not a poofy mess. It also smells good.

I have very fine hair that used to be straight but grew in lightly wavy over the crown and curly at temples and nape after I shaved my head last year. (So a mix of 2a and b, really, with more classic “C” type curls at the lower neck and around the ears.) I got this to support the curls if possible — which it does. I follow the listed directions and it helps keep my curls defined for longer. It does make your hair crunchy if air dried (I don’t have all the hair tools like a diffuser), but breaks apart into soft hair after you run your hands through it and fluff a little. The smell is a bit much for me, as it’s flowery and soft, but that’s a personal preference. It’s not overpowering or anything. The product works great for the day, but my hair will be heavy and fairly oily by the next morning (hazard of such fine hair). My hair is about six inches long at this time, and 1½ pumps are more than enough, so the bottle will last a long time. Pleased with it!

I've veen using the luvurcurls curl cream for about 2 years now. It is a must for my curly hair routine! It is the only product that I have found that helps keep my hair shiny, helps reduce my frizz and keeps my hair feeling light weight. After adding thus product to my regime, I have perfected my curls and can now go 5 days with my hair down in between wash days! I have never tried using it by itself. I use the luvurcurls cream mixed with Cantu curl cream, then I add not your mothers curl talk mousse and finish it off with kinky curling custard gel.

This product does provide great curl definition, but I feel like I am perpetually in an Abercrombie & Fitch. I often end up putting my hair up in a bun so it’s not so close to my face/nose, which defeats the purpose! 3 stars because it does do what it says it will, 2 stars because I straight-up cannot use it.
