I had a flood under my house and I didn’t have a key to turn off the main valve at the street. I live on 5 acres and in a raised house and the water was gushing and I ended up having to call the city and they finally got it off. If I had had this key, it would’ve taken care of it right away. I did get it fixed and I used the key to open it up and it worked perfect. Great fit length was fine longer would’ve worked better. The weights very good is good quality it doesn’t slip and it’s very durable.

In my case, this was next day delivery, which was a must at the time. It had already been raining the last few days, so the floodingin my side yard was not surprising. Tends to be a low point that gathers water when it rains anyway. Oh boy was I wrong. There I was thinking I was on top of things for dripping faucets, opening cabinets, and covering outside spigots. it was freezing overnights that week. Not crazy freezing but wet and since this is texas nobodys homes are winterized. we go for more summerized lol Anywho, didn't notice the springs that had popped up in my side yard for the first day or 2 from the busted main, and then it took a few days to get someone out there to fix it. In the mean time, we couldn't just leave the water running at all times. This little bugger arrived quickly and came in very handy. Sturdy, and we were using it non-stop all day to turn the main on and off for various reasons TBH at the time I wished we had gotten the longer one, but that was mostly cause crouching down over it several times a day got old real quick. I am glad now that I have the shorter one. More portable, easier to stow away. Its good to have for when you need one, but hopefully you don't need it often lol

Several other reviews mentioned that this tool may be too short for some meter boxes. It was long enough for mine, but I couldn't use it anyway because the valve is sort of under the lip of the meter box and I can't get the tool on straight. It seems well built overall though, so just make sure your valve is less than a foot underground and there's nothing blocking it and it should work fine. Otherwise it's a waste of money.
