  • Great tool! 10/10
I had the older Craftsman one from about 10 years ago and it wouldn't work with the universal attachments. This thing does work with the universal attachments and holy cow it works amazingly! And it does, as advertised, have far lower vibration when holding it than other models. I've recommended it to multiple people already. ... show more

  • Handy as a pocket on a shirt
Added this "funny saw" tool to my Ryobi collection over a year ago and it quickly became indispensable for a multitude of tasks. Until one day, all of a sudden, it stopped! Had to dig in my tool box for half a dozen other tools to continue the job. I replaced it right away. When the new one came in, I took the broken one apart, as any good engineer would do. It disassembles easily with a torx driver, then open as a clam shell. The motor is shock/vibration mounted in the outer housing with 6 rubber pads. One of those pads had come loose and found its way into the motor housing and jammed the rotor. It came out with some difficulty, but without damage to the motor. Once removed, the motor and tool again worked fine. As I reassembled the tool, I glued the vibration pads to the housing. Now I have a funny saw for both hands! As a side note, that was the only one of my 8 Ryobi hand tools to ever have a problem, most of which are many years old. ... show more

  • Great tool to have
Works great. Exactly what I needed. Can be used for a whole variety of purposes. Great value for the money.

  • First one only last a year
My first device died a little after a year - it seems to run but the head doesn't move so there must be a linkage inside that's snapped. It does a good job when it works. These have a 3 year warranty, but to get it fixed, I have to drive over an hour to the closest center. So, I just went ahead and ordered another new one and I'll eventually get the other one fixed and have a spare. Doing the same thing with my Ryobi Sawzall - I've had two die, so I'll just buy another and keep a spare. ... show more

  • Awesome until it quit working. But fixed
I was impressed when I first used it. It was comparable to the Milwaukee DeWalt that my neighbor has. And I’ve used. Got for a great price compared to the others. but quit working on me cutting some drywall today and it’s only the 4th time I’ve used. Would have been 5 stars other wise. Updated review: I’m kind of handy so I took the unit apart myself, found one of the rubber isolators had came out of place and got sucked into the motor stalling the motor. I was able to pull the rubber isolator out of the motor and put it all back together. Unit now works as designed just like the day. I took it out of the box so I updated my review to five stars because it is a very good product. Also, Customer Service had contacted me after they saw my review and wanted to take care of it anyway they could which I really appreciate. I would still buy another one of these, even if I had to replace it because of the fast response from the manufacturer even months after I purchased it. ... show more

  • Are Ryobi tools going down hill?
Bought this oscillating tool so I could use it on a future project. Cut my first pipe with it, it worked great. Got to the second pipe, and something happened in the motor. It isn't oscillating like it should. I called ryobi and they told me to take it to a repair shop. Not , send it back and we will replace it. Is what I expected them to say. They have always stood behind their products , I thought. I've got 2 hand held air compressors that the motors didn't last very long. I won't buy any more of those! I'm beginning to have my doubts about Ryobi tools. They were the best tools , I used to think. I was gonna send my oscillating tool back to Amazon, but by the time I used the tool it was past the return date. So I ask myself ..... do I buy another one? Inputs are welcome. ... show more

  • Ryobi a great name & dependable saw.
Great saw, easy to handle , has many speeds, small enough to work in tight places.

  • A good addition to the One+ family
A while back I standardized on the Ryobi One+ family for a couple of reasons: -Inexpensive -Available at the local orange home improvement store -Relatively durable -Large assortment of tools -I'm not a pro mechanic anymore so I don't need anything more powerful -Batteries are backward compatible with Ryobi's old 18V NiCad tools (the dark blue ones) that I can find at garage sales, flea markets, etc. for a few bucks When my Harbor Freight multitool's battery died and I couldn't find a replacement, I decided to buy the Ryobi version to consolidate it with my existing batteries. This thing is WAY better than the old Harbor Freight tool. The variable speed is nice, it's way more powerful, it can use most standard multitool blades (including the ones from my old multitool), and the clamping screw for the blade doesn't loosen up unlike my old one. Best of all, I already have batteries, and they last a lot longer than with the old multitool. The only downside is that, because of the large batteries, this tool ends up being both big and heavy compared to a lot of the others. for me that's almost never a problem but if you use it a lot in confined spaces, you may want to go with something smaller. ... show more
