Have Had Wave 4 years and now upgrading to Charge TTI
My Leatherman Wave is 4 years old and barely shows any wear, even though I use it weekly sometimes many times a week. So this was just splurging on myself kind of purchase I wanted something real quality and durable!!! My new TTI is a tad thicker than the wave but not as bulky as I imagine the surge would have been! After reading the different reviews the surge is definitely bulkier and I didn't want that kind of bulk. It all comes down to how you going to use the tool!!! Didn't you charge TTI sticks out on my side, a little bit more than the Wave did but seems okay. Considering the capability of having all these bits with me and the extender it's a very small price to pay that's for sure! Leatherman has impeccable quality and durability ... Made like a tank!!.. so I'm not going to go off on that in this review!! I was worried about the nylon belt carrying pouch, but pleasantly surprised and heavier duty than I was thinking it would be!! The nylon pouch is actually pretty nice! so I'm not playing on buying a leather one for it: which would be really expensive considering you need that ability to have the bit sleeve. The snap on the nylon pouch is just as good as my leather pouch snap that I have on my Wave: (I have included My Wave leather pouch in my picture so you can see the difference in size). The TTI came with a half-filled not-so-great assortment of tips. The pocket clip came separately in the box, along with the lanyard clip separately in the box. I don't plan on using the pocketclip or the lanyard clip Right now. I bought the seperate bit kit with the extender (sold separately) which I'm showing in the picture. So I have three bit sleeves now but only using one in the nylon pouch (I can't imagine fitting everything in there with two bit sleeves: can't see that happening even though I've seen someone do it on YouTube). I will switch out the bits that I need and incorporate them into the one sleeve that I'll be using. The nylon pouch has a spot for the bit extender on the right side which is a smaller heavy duty elastic band. On the left side the heavy-duty elastic band is slightly bigger which would hold a very thin flashlight. I'm not doing the flashlight right now because I have a flashlight on my phone and I always have my phone with me. Maybe if I was using my flashlight all the time I might think differently (again it's how you going to be using it). The included nylon pouch has a separate pocket behind where the TTI will sit, this is where I will keep one bit kit sleeve (not two). I have arranged the one bit sleeve to contain: all the Philips tips and all the flathead tips (except one). Took out all the torxs and the millimeter hex as well as took out the ponzi bit. I think I included one square bit. So I included all the standard size hex (Alen) tips. I have included a picture of the one sleeve setup. The TTI only seems slightly heavier than my Wave which is nice!!! NetRush supplied my new Leatherman TTI, and I must say that I was a little worried, based on the picture that was in another review, however everything is brand spanking new: pristine!!!! My Wave had this little idiosyncrasy that after using the pliers and closing the whole Wave up, The knife and the serrated knife would catch slightly until you opened the tool up a-hair and then closed it back a-hair. this was in no way a big deal (a half a second fix) just something I had noticed with the Wave, and was wondering if the TTI was going to be like that too ... Well it's not! They must have made it better somehow and the Charge TTI works perfect!!! I watched a lot of YouTube videos on this Tti, The Surge and a few others... I feel I made the right choice!! Based on how my Wave held up, as long as I don't lose this TTI , I should have it for the rest of my life : no doubt!!!

High quality
So I’ve had quite a few Leathermans over the years and other multi-tools from different brands. This one is probably one of the best that I’ve ever used right out of the box. The action is very smooth and I could easily open this one-handed, which for most Leatherman tools or multi-tools in general is not something easily accomplished, at least not for the more traditional style ones like this. The Leatherman Free series is sort of built for that purpose. This is not a Free series, but it opens to the plier head almost easily. Now, the interior tools are still a bit difficult to get out, at least until they break in. The build quality is definitely higher than that of standard ones, which, for having titanium components and given the price tag, I would certainly expect that. I did not purchase this just to have it sitting around. I do use this one quite a bit if I’m not using my Victorinox Spirit, which is also a wonderful multitool. I like having the ability to change the bits out, which comes in handy at work quite a bit. The plier head itself is durable and functional, and you do have the replaceable wire cutters, which is admittedly not something that I have to use very often. Mostly it’s just using the needle nose aspect to grab a hold of things. All the tools work as they’re supposed to, and the scissors surprisingly on this model actually cut fairly well. Many of the Leatherman scissors have left me unimpressed, but these are sufficiently sharp and will cut most things. This is a great tool although pricey. I did manage to get it on a rare discount, so that’s why I went ahead and snatched one up. The S 30 blade is a nice touch. But the grind on it wasn’t done so well. It was sufficiently sharp when it arrived; however, I have since corrected the grind on it. If you take care of it, it should last you pretty much forever, and given their warranty, you should be pretty good unless you just outright abuse this thing. It’s another great tool from Leatherman, a bit of an expensive one, and given the price, you might just consider paying a bit more and getting one of the free series. But that’s a personal decision. I would still pick this over some of the newer models just given its build quality and the tool set that it has. It is still somewhat heavy and a little bulky, so this is definitely not one that I’m going to carry in the pocket. It’s the one that I will keep in the sheath. Just some things to consider.

Carry all day noticeably lighter than standard.
I love this thing. Yes, outrageously expensive for what it is, but worth it for the weight difference. I always have this in my cargo pocket and I’ve carried the regular version and it’s very noticeable after walking all day. I lost a pair and it stung, because I knew I needed to buy another after carrying the standards around for a few weeks. I wish they made the bigger models in a Ti version, but the $300-$400(guess) price tag would limit sales I guess. Bought the replacement pair, so it’s worth it to me as a tradesman who carries them all day every day.

The Goldilocks of Multi-tools
A daily companion for over a dozen years, the Charge Plus TTI is as important in my pocket as my wallet and phone. I break everything. Cars, watches, phones, tools....if you want to test it, put it in my hands. The Charge TTI is one of the few items I have carried on a daily basis for years at a time that only half-failed once (I broke one of the springs, which had no affect on performance, but replaced it under warranty). The only reason I ever replace these is because they fall out of my pocket. I go into withdrawals if it isn't in reaching distance. It fits the sweet spot of easy pocket carry with a full tool-box. There are bigger and smaller multi-tools, but this is the Goldilocks version. As perfect as I've seen in a multi-tool so far.

Definitely in the top five Leatherman designs of all time, one of my favorites with premium S30v blade, titanium scales and strap cutter/serrated blade is unique to this tool and a game changer ...it's a shame this tool has been retired. Upgraded version of most popular selling multitool of all time.

The sharpest multitool knife I've come across.
So first I work as a diesel mechanic and for years I've had a Leatherman or some multitool on my belt or close by for a long time. I previously was using a leatherman wave in black and finally broke the tip of the knife and needed an upgrade. I'd say this ti version more than exceeded my expectations. The knife on this guy is sharp and has stayed sharp over the month or two of use. All the useful Leatherman tools and accessories of course. If you're expecting it to be a ton lighter with the ti it really isn't... It actually pretty heavy but it feels solid in hand and the included belt clip and belt pouch feel okay. It's gunna get 4 stars as I've had a few of these nylon Leatherman pouches and they've got a life span. I had some hope the premium price might up the case quality but I'll expect to be ordering a leather or aftermarket case eventually.

Awesome tool if you're keeping it in a bag or in the holster. Bit bulky for pocket carry.
Caught this on a prime day deal for half off. 1st Leatherman for me and I love it. I think the Charge Plus TTI is a little bulky and I can't substitute my pocket knife for this but it is definitely a great tool to keep in a bugout bag, range bag, or as a spare tool in my truck. It definitely feels top notch in quality and it makes me really want to splurge on the Leatherman Arc now that I've seen the QC that Leatherman offers. I probably wouldn't have gotten this unless it was on sale but I'm overall very satisfied with this tool.
