This truck is so much fun. It drives and does tricks so well. Pops wheelies and stoppies no problem. It takes practice to bicycle but overall easy to do the other tricks right out of the box. It will take a while to master if you want to drive it like a real monster truck. No need to upgrade any parts. It takes a beating. I drove this on brick pavers thru 5 battery packs flipping in all over the place and powering through when it lands upside down. Unfortunately a few shocks were leaking out of the box. I have contacted the manufacturer and they have sent a replacement set of all 8 shocks and then another 4 more dampening. 5 star customer support from Hobby Horizon. Just take a look at your shocks when you get them and make sure all the O-rings are in correctly. Worth it. ... show more

Well this is more fun than it should be! Seriously, I like all forms of RC ing, but Scaler Monster Truck is new to me. Less bashing, more re-creating, It's really cool how they respond like the real ones! The LMT has been a good truck since it was introduced, but the improvements are appreciated. I was genuinely excited for this truck, and at first, it absolutely delivered. The LMT 2.0 is huge — much bigger than you’d expect for something labeled as 1/8 scale — and it has an awesome presence in person. The detailing and paint look great, and right out of the box it’s insanely fun to drive. Pulling off wheelies, jumps, and simple tricks feels effortless, and it’s easily one of the most entertaining RC trucks I’ve driven with zero setup or tuning. That excitement didn’t last long, unfortunately. On the very first run, in under ten minutes and on flat ground, a chassis link end snapped. There wasn’t a big crash or hard impact that caused it — it just failed. I got the truck back up and running, only to discover that two shocks had already blown and were leaking oil. After two short runs (second one on the grass), it was effectively done. That’s what makes this so frustrating. When it’s working, the truck is fantastic. The size, solid axles, and overall driving experience are outstanding. But breaking that quickly, under light use, completely kills confidence. Shock replacements aren’t cheap either, and with rebuild kits out of stock for weeks, it turns into a waiting game instead of a quick fix. I really wanted to love this truck, and part of me still does. With pre-maintenance, upgrades, or reinforcement right out of the gate, it might be worth owning. But as a ready-to-run experience, the durability just isn’t there. For me, this lands at a 3/5 — amazing fun and presence, but let down hard by early failures and costly downtime. ... show more

Great truck for the experienced driver. One guy said, "It breaks". Hmm. Yes, if you use it, it will break. It's the nature of the beast. It's made to do tricks that really are not easy to perform. You're going to make a mistake sooner or later and this truck weighs a ton. It' s going to break. I've run mine for less than ten minutes. Yeah, it still runs. But it took cosmetic damage from one end over end flip. However, it was awesome. It has all the power you need to do any stunt you can think of (once anyway), or be a spot on the tv show "destroyed in seconds". If I destroy it, it will be my own fault and I will buy another. The build is excellent. My only complaint is the relatively low ground clearance due to the sway bars (gotta have 'em) and they're gonna break. It's a beautiful machine. ... show more
