  • Comfortable Until It Breaks
Color: Black
It's a delicate chair. I purchased it in December 2020, and it was busted by March 2023. I tried to pick it up and move it once, and the little rubber circle inside the leg post was jostled and broke. This meant that the chair no longer adjusted properly in height, and the rod on the chair itself tried to slip down to the ground through the post. Later on, I cautioned a guest that my desk chair was fragile. He ignored me. He wanted to see what was on my screen. He came up behind me, put his hands on the back part, and leaned his weight on it. He finally broke it. So, if you don't pick it up and no one treats it roughly, then it may last longer than about 2.5 years. However, at its price point of a bit over $200, with a recommended warranty of 2-3 years, I don't think it'll last many years more than 3. After all, fragile, plastic furniture rarely lasts a long time these days. I suggest spending a bit more so that you spend less in the long-term. Because, now, I have to spend more to get another chair. 2023 Update: Now, I've purchased a new chair to replace this one. For those curious, I got the Steelcase series 1, and thus far I really like it. My new chair feels quite supportive for my back, shoulders, and legs. However, since the Lorell chair was in a broken state when I was using it, comparison on comfort wouldn't be fair to Lorell. After all, I do remember that my Lorell chair felt nice when it worked, and I could adjust it as I wanted. The problem was mainly that it just didn't work for long. However, on sturdiness, my new chair clearly wins. The Steelcase is sturdier on its own post section: a single metal post with no external components. In comparison, the Lorell chair has that aforementioned, flimsy, rubber washer/ring, which is supporting the center post that slides into the base. The Lorell's washer can easily break, and cause the chair to become janky. You could likely figure out the size of that part, and buy a new washer that'd fit to fix a broken one, but that's frail design for an office chair. I'm hopeful that my new chair will last much, much longer than my former Lorell chair did. ... show more

  • Broken in less than 1 month of use.
Color: Black
The Lorell High-Performance Task Chair, 27-1/4 by 25-1/4 by 41-1/2-Inch, Black chair shipped quickly and was received in good condition. The assembly instructions were easy to follow, the only trouble I had was getting the casters inserted into the base; it wasn't impossible, it just took some extra effort. The chair has all of the adjustability features I was looking for as I like to change sitting positions fairly often. That being said, after using the chair for about 2-1/2 weeks, one of the features has already broken. The user should be able to set the angle of the backrest and have it latch in position, however my chair no longer latches in any position. When I sit upright, the backrest follows me all the way up. When I lean back, the backrest doesn't stop until it reaches the farthest reclining position. It no longer latches where I set it to be. I have contacted the seller to see what they will do for me and will try to remember to update this review when I hear back. ... show more

  • cheaply made, but not cheap to purchase
Color: Grey
Purchased new less than three years ago, this Made In China junk arrived partially broken, is continuing to fall apart, and is now headed for a landfill. For its replacement I wised up and did what I should've last time. For $200 I bought a used commercial-grade (~$1K new) office chair Made In USA in 2005. It's in great condition after 18 years, and is built well enough to last 18 more. My advice for anyone needing a quality chair for a home office is to find a nearby liquidator of used office furniture. ... show more

  • very adjustable. If you are 6 feet or under, there is some config that will fit you.
Color: Black
very adjustable. If you are 6 feet or under, there is some config that will fit you. Lorell model# LLR60538 which adds "seat glide". It doesn't tilt back too far, with seatbase and seatback at maximum angle, the seatback is maybe 25degrees from vertical - so it's a taskchair with midback, not made for naps. It's hefty, about 50#. Well-wrapped and boxed for shipping. No issues with bad or missing parts (the seatback bolt was stiff but correct on my third try). Levers are a little mushy, like I can't be sure if they are linked, but they actually work fine. Seat is firm - time will tell if it stays firm. Speed of delivery was excellent. Price at Amazon was better than anywhere else, including shipping. It's good. EDIT: after a month rolling around on deep carpet, I see and feel the gas lift cylinder is dragging in the carpet - it would do damage eventually, so I shimmed it up a half-inch by wrapping the end in a paper towel before re-inserting into the base. It's kinda difficult to extract. Fabric is definitely warmer than a mesh chair in summer months. ... show more
