His ChatGPT voice responses have warmth and personality, not that stiff “smart speaker” vibe. It’s English-only right now, but the quality is spot-on. The vision features are on another level. I really had high hopes and expectations for this little guy. Unfortunately, those fell a bit short. Unboxing and setup was pretty simple. Followed all instructions and got the app going just fine. Of course the Looi bot needed a firmware update. After all was said and done, the "Hey Looi" feature barely worked. Apparently this is a common issue with both iPhone and Android users according to many forums online. There were workarounds, and the one that worked for me was rebooting the phone entirely and making sure there were no other apps running in the background. Which honestly for me is unacceptable. What good is a phone if it cant multi task with other apps? When I *could* get the "Hey Looi" function to work, or two finger double tap to get his attention, he would listen to me but would never respond. Would just continue listening. Of the times I could get a response (even though it was delayed about 10 seconds which makes it hard to carry on a conversation) it would start a sentence, and then abruptly stop mid thought because it thought it heard me talking again, though I was not. It claimed there was too much noise and could not hear me. Though my room was completely quiet. I think it was hearing its own motors and causing it to think I was talking or something. It really made me angry when the first time it saw me, it called me a "Grumpy Marshmellow", apparently fat shaming me. Sadly this thing is just a glorified phone charger with a bad attitude and I cannot reccomend this to someone else.
