We just unboxed it and did a quick test on a piece of wood, and it’s been fantastic! This little machine is compact, quiet, and super easy to move around—perfect for him to set up in the basement during winter. Installation was a breeze, and it’s precise enough for detailed designs. For a beginner like him, it’s just the right size, not too complicated, and the price is very reasonable. I’ve been using the LONGER Ray5 5000mW for a few weeks now, and I’m really impressed with its performance. The 15.7" x 15.7" working area gives plenty of room for larger projects, and the machine itself feels sturdy and well built. Setup was straightforward thanks to clear instructions, and I was up and running in under an hour. The engraving quality is excellent. Wood, acrylic, and leather come out clean and detailed, and the air assist kit makes a huge difference—it reduces burn marks and improves cut depth significantly. I’ve also tested it on glass and coated metal with good results. The included 4-in-1 rotary roller kit is a big bonus for anyone who wants to engrave cups, tumblers, or other cylindrical items—it works smoothly and is easy to adjust. One of my favorite features is the built-in touchscreen. Being able to run jobs directly from a TF card without needing a computer connection is very convenient. The safety features (like flame detection and motion alarm) give me extra peace of mind when running longer jobs. I previously owned an earlier model of the Ray5, but this upgraded 5000mW version is a big step up. It’s more powerful, faster, and most importantly, it can engrave on glass, which the older one couldn’t handle. The engraving quality is sharp and clean across wood, acrylic, and metal, and with the air assist kit, cuts are much smoother with less burning.

This is one of the crappiest lasers I have ever purchased, super loud, the cuts are horrible, shipping took way later than it should have, it just doesn’t work it’s trash. Very disappointing, they reached out to me and told me they would refund me and no need to return it so, stupid me threw it away and they decided to ask for the machine back. Luckily they had not processed the return yet. So in the end no return and no machine and horrible experience. I would never purchase from this company nor recommend it again.
