Heavy, wool blend kept me warm through hours of college tours in windy, teens and twenty degree weather in Western NY. The hood is deep enough to stay on even with a ponytail (most hoods are too shallow and won’t cover my forehead with a ponytail or bun). The design is really pretty. Buttons and lapels add a nice touch to set this coat apart from other trench style coats. Only complaint is that it picks up lint and dog hair like crazy! The red color shows all white fuzzies from sweaters, maybe wouldn’t if it were camel or white. It’s worth all of the lint roller papers though because the color is rich and beautiful! No odd odor, came folded on hanger, no creases that didn’t hang out in a day. I am 5’5”, 180ish lbs. Size 14 pants, L or xl tops as I like them loose. I ordered up to an XL for room for sweaters and hoodies under the coat. It is perfect for that. A large would fit with a thin shirt. There’s about 2” of overlap (button to button holes) when I pull it closed tightly with a thin shirt on. Nice that I can pull it tight and tie the belt. The arms and shoulders fit well. This coat!!! Stylish and versatile!!! Fit is perfect. Leaves enough room for a light sweater underneath. Who ever designed this coat deserves an award!!! I’m 147 lb 5’5” bought LARGE. Sleeves are slightly long but good for cold weather.

This coat is exactly what I expected—and more. This isn’t a lightweight coat—it is heavy, y’all! It really keeps you warm during those polar vortexes! I love the style and cut, with the belted waist and the ample hood. The fabric is a deep, beautiful red wool. Like other reviewers, it ran a bit large on me, but I kept it so I could wear sweaters and vests under it and still button it. My only wish is that the buttons had been sewn on tighter. I'm 107 lbs, small chested 5'4. I got the small size and it's slightly bigger than I wanted. If there was an extra small, it would fit more snuggly. Otherwise, this still works and I like it. The hoodie is cute, it feels warm, and the sleeves are not too long or short. I can't wait to try it out when I go up north later this year. The quality of the fabric is really good, doesn't feel cheap and the stitches hold well together. Lots of cheaply made clothing sold in Amazon so buyer aware. Beautiful coat. Double breasted coats flatter me better. It’s the only reason I retuned it. Runs large! Don’t size up for layering! Size down for better fit even with layering. I tried multiple sizes. The hood looks good up or down and it’s actually functional! Very warm coat and thicker material than anticipated. Highly recommend.
