I like using Google maps for navigation which requires vertical use by default. This only holds the phone horizontally so you have to rotate the map (use two fingers on the screen to rotate) which works but doesn't allow you to see as far ahead as when in vertical mode. Other than that, it works great. It even has a notch to hold the USB cable so you don't risk messing up the jack on the phone should the USB cable get yanked. It holds well even on the textured faux leather dash on our vehicle and I don't have to deal with the suction cup mount for the GPS any more. Win! ... show more

This is a simple molded holder, it's cheap and works. I personally can't understand the poor ratings or difficult installs in the reviews. If you clean your surface (properly) and don't drop it in a pile sand you won't have any issues. After having this for a couple of months I decided to try the holder last week in my Nissan pickup truck. I removed the adhesive cover and stuck it on the dashboard of my truck. It held the phone in place very well but I did discover that our Texas heat can affect the iPhone operations if the phone gets too hot. I have been looking for something like this for a long time. All the other car mounts never would work for my phone because my AC vents are the wrong direction and it falls down. This thing works perfect. its not a permanent adhesion to your dash. You can easily remove it and wash it with warm soapy water and reapply it to a different location or a different dash board. It will work over and over again. phone stays in place even with the charging cable connected to the phone.
