I have looked for years for a black cape that would be warm, fit nicely over blazers and leather jackets, be light in weight and flattering. (And doesn't look like a halloween costume!!) I found all this in this cape. It is not bulky at all and doesn't make me feel clunky. Even without a lining it is so warm. The stand up collar can be folded down too. And it's not so bulky that if you dont use the arm slits, you can wear it without the slits and it's not too much material to bring your arms up out from under the cape, like a poncho (which is easier w/a seatbelt.) The material was too flimsy you would think that it would be made a better quality material for $179. I bought material and had to have a seamstress put in the lining because the material is so thin it Cannot be called a coat.
