I've tried other names brands over the years, but always come back to LogiTech. Logitech makes some of the best wireless mice. This recent purchase is my Third M705 mouse. The previous one lasted almost 10 years before it started acting a little quirky. It could have only needed a good cleaning, but for the price it is easier to get a new one. I also recently bought a new computer, because my 9 year old Win 7 HP physically broke at the screen hinge. The well-designed Logitech M705 mouse lasted longer than my last two computers. LOL I love the design and I'm so glad it hasn't changed over the years. The mouse is very comfortable to hold and the buttons and wheel feel like a normal part of my hand. The mouse also has (programmable) side buttons, which are thumb operated for Forward and Back for use in a browser. They can also be easily programmed for reverse operation (whichever seems more natural for the user). Or, they can be programmed for custom commands in programs, besides the standard Forward/Back in Web Browsers. The description says the batteries last up to 3 years, and they literally do, with good quality (Duracell) AA batteries. The mouse also gives an on screen notification when the batteries finally get low. The mouse uses a very small USB dongle (Receiver) to communicate between the mouse and computer. There is no need to Pair devices via Bluetooth. Simply plug in the USB Receiver and start using the mouse. It's truly Plug & Play. It's fortunate that the receiver & mouse are Plug & Play, because the the printed instructions are all but useless. The are no visual diagrams. And the instructions are printed in multiple languages using micro-fine text that is almost illegible. It's worth pointing out that the USB Receiver is hidden inside the battery compartment and is so small it is easily overlooked. It's a good design to prevent losing the receiver when using multiple computers, or taking from home to school/work. But it confused me at first, because I expected it to be a separate item in box, which I thought was missing. Overall, I highly recommend this mouse. I've bought it before and I'll buy it again. UPDATE: To MKay who is getting the 3 blank screens with images of multiple open programs. That is not a error with the Logitech mouse. On some versions of Logitech mice, there is a very small (almost unnoticeable) on the left side at the bottom. It is (by default setting) used to scroll through multiple open programs/windows when the taskbar is hidden. Microsoft Windows 11 (and probably earlier versions, too) has the feature of TaskView (a setting which can be turned off in Taskbar settings). The TaskView has a black & white icon on the Taskbar. It is a very annoying feature IMO! The small (programmable) button on the mouse is most likely activating the TaskView feature - which is exactly as the picture you provided. Don't get mad at LogiTech for an MS Windows feature. Simply turn off TaskView in Taskbar settings, or reprogram the button on the mouse to do something else - and Love your mouse again!

Best mouse I've ever used. The ergonomic design is comfortable, battery life is excellent, and it's very responsive. I love the forward and back buttons on the thumb side, the scroll wheel release button for lots of rolling, and the wheel clicks side to side to scroll left and right. The usb dongle storage in the battery compartment is a feature I didn't know I needed until I used a mouse that didn't have it. I've tried a couple of other mouses (mice?) and keep coming back to this one.

Having been a Logitech user for many years, I can verify their consistency in delivering top-notch products. I have a Logitech keyboard, which I love using! I needed a mouse to complement it; therefore, I ordered this one. The mouse works perfectly. Inserted the batteries that were included. Always love when they include batteries. Then, I hooked in the little USB chip to my laptop and immediately was able to scroll across webpages and organize my files without hassle. Mouse is easy to maneuver, is very responsive, doesn't stick on me like what has happened with other brands, and fits comfortably in my hand while I use it. I got this black color because my keyboard and laptop are also black, so I have a sleek theme - everything matching. My mousepad is blue, but the mouse would look good with any color.

I have used an original Marathon mouse, and I don't mean prior to 2018, I mean I bought this very mouse in 2014 (for 20$ at a Costco no less) Why am I getting a replacement? The dredded double click has only gotten worse these past few months. My mouse has had over 8000 hours of World of Warcraft, gone through high school and my first two years of college, outlived 3 different laptops and has not only been tossed around but traveled to over 6 states on vacations and survived 2 moves. I replaced the batteries in it for only the 3rd time since its purchase and this mouse has been nothing but incredible to me. I just received my "new" one today, and I can tell, this is not my mouse. I've used it for 6 hours in both searching the web and some WoW. With my original being almost a decade old I think I can say that the quality on the original is tenfold of the quality on this new one. The feel is different, the original is smooth and made of a shiny plastic whereas the new one has a matte finish and not as smooth of a surface (Im talking about the top of the mouse, to move your hand in adjustment isn't smooth so I have found myself letting go and then moving fingers rather than just sliding my hand further up on the mouse). The biggest complaint I see from people is the pads on the bottom, but I had a lot of issues with the ones on my original so having them be plastic is a better deal for me. I do not have a mouse pad and have never used one, so the rubbery ones have had to be superglue back in place a few times from rubbing on the desk. You can still pull the new ones off to get to the screws, but I never had luck trying to fix physical issues with my mouse anyway. The scroll wheel is similar, but different. I dont know how to describe it exactly, but I had to download the software to turn on "smooth scrolling" because what is supposed to be a free scrolling wheel would zoom down the page and slowly scroll back up, which I found to be really obnoxious. Similarly, the new mouse was a lot slower out of the package and I had to get the software download to change the cursor speed to near max just to have a comparable speed to what I am used to. So these mice are not even comparable out of the box, as I have never used the Logitech software on my original mouse. The most interesting change to me is that the new mouse is 5 grams lighter. I think this can be attributed to the thumb rest on the new one being a lot thinner and more of just a plastic piece than an actual thumb rest like the original. Not only that, but the majority of weight seems to be at the scroll wheel with the new mouse and at end of the mouse in the original (different center of gravity? I don't know, but it feels like I'm moving it with my fingers rather than moving it with my palm). Either this is due to the factory batteries being smaller in the new versus my replacements in the old or the guts of the mouse have been changed/moved, either way this is a weird change which has thrown me off a little. I honestly never thought they still made this mouse and I would have to try something new (which I have never been all that good at, hence the original one is 8 years old) which is why I have waited so long to find a new mouse. While this is not my mouse and it never will be, it is the closest replacement I can get, and that is why I give it a 4 star. TL;DR: The original is a lot smoother to the touch, has more thumb support, requires no configuration to mouse settings for regular use, and is made of quality plastic. The new version lacks a decent thumb rest, requires configuration to mouse settings in order to be usable, is lighter and has a more central center of gravity, and lacks a thumb button. Both are very responsive, use the same scrolling feature, can be programmed, and have the same shape. I cannot attest to battery life, longevity, or other features as I have used the same original mouse for around 8 years and the new one for only 6 hours.

I've had this for a couple months now and thoroughly enjoy the use of this mouse. The shape fits my grip just right (I would say my hand size is average adult male) and being able to have the option to either let the wheel spin free or in increments has been a nice option. I'm not a gamer nor a programmer but use it for regular office software.

I've had many Logitech mice over the years I've really loved that were then discontinued. This is a long running mouse that pretty much ALL logitech users just love! And since it's long in the tooth, I'd recommend stocking up while you can. Here's some of the perks, but above all else, it feels so amazing! 1. It's a smallish, very light, simple mouse. I personally don't like the giant gaming mice. This has everything I need, including a scroll wheel you can click between smooth and ratcheted mode. 2. Uses 1 or 2 AA batteries - This gives it incredible battery life - many months at least. And when you do need to replace batteries, it's instant. I keep a pair in my backpack. So much more convenient than having to charge a rechargeable mouse, especially given rechargeable batteries slowly wear out. 3. Works like a dream on Macs with no drivers installed at all! 4. You can stash the wireless USB receiver dongle inside the mouse! Which is priceless. Note that nowadays, I have an Apple Silicon Mac, I have to use a tiny adapter to plug the dongle into a USB-C port. But it's still tiny and convenient. 5. For me, Logitech still hasn't made anything better. I'd love to see a mouse almost like this with a USB-C receiver, but until then, it's as close as it gets to my perfect mouse. I have tons of these all over the place.

Ended up returning. The “precision scroll” was opposite of what was marketed. I’d scroll to the top and it would go up then down a bit. All in all not impressed. I do appreciate the easy return process.
