  • Best mouse I've ever used, period
I've used lots of mice over the years, and I normally have several at a time for different uses. I purchased this one as my FPS mouse after my second Steelseries Sensei died in the course of one year from clicking issues, and I'm so glad I did. After using this for a few weeks I am beyond happy with the purchase. I did purchase this when it was on sale for 100$, but that being said, if you're looking for a solid mouse with nice features and are willing to pay the price, do it, you won't be disappointed. One of the main things I need in a mouse nowadays is the on board memory for settings and profiles. I use this on both my computer and my consoles while using a XIM4, because of that I need the on board memory. Well, "need" is a strong word, but I certainly prefer it. Another key feature I was looking for in my replacement was that it be wireless. They've come a long way with wireless mice in recent years and it shows. This comes with a charging cable and an adapter that turns it into an extension cable for you to plug the wireless dongle in so that you can have it very close to the mouse. I ended up using another USB extension cable I had laying around so that I could wire it into my desk nicely and I keep the dongle plugged into that. I then charge the mouse whenever I'm done for the day using the supplied USB cable, which is plenty considering that once I turned off the light on the front of the mouse the battery life is around 34 hours. I can even forget to charge it and still use it the next day which is very nice.? Pros: -This mouse has the absolute best click action I have ever felt/heard in a mouse. It's downright satisfying -The Logitech software is very unobtrusive and lightweight compared to others (Razer Synapse anyone?) -The on board profiles are very handy for those who like having them -Very well placed DPI buttons, and you can have many settings to switch through -Extremely high DPI for those who want/need it -Battery life: 34 hours is more than I would have expected (that's with the front light off, it's closer to 24 with it lit) -Wireless: Last but not least, the wireless works flawlessly. I notice no difference between this and my wired mice Cons: -I had a little trouble updating the firmware when I first unboxed it (see other thoughts) -That's honestly all I can think of for the cons Other thoughts: -About the firmware issue I had: It turned out to be because I was plugged into a USB hub at the time, I didn't quite think that through, but I also tried it using other USB options to test it. The only way I was able to get the firmware to successfully update was by plugging it directly into the computer. Not really a big deal. -Super high DPI: Though I don't really see a need for a DPI as high as this mouse can get, I guess it's nice to know it's there. I purchased it for other reasons -The weight: I've seen some mention how light this mouse is as a bad thing. I normally prefer a more weighty mouse myself, but they really did this one right. It has a great tactile feel and, cheesy as it sounds, I noticed an improvement in my FPS games the very first time I tried it. -The size: I've seen other reviews talk about hand size being an issue, and I don't really get it. I have large hands and I can comfortably use this mouse for hours on end without any discomfort. My wife has small hands and has used it for several hours at a time without any complaints. -The construction: The last thing I've seen mentioned a few times by others is the fact that this mouse is missing the fancy rubber grips and whatnot that you may find on other mice. They did this to reduce weight as much as possible, but they did it very well. I usually like some rubber to hold on to, as my last few mice have had, but I'm not missing it at all with this mouse. I actually think if it DID have rubber grip I wouldn't like it. -Brand: In all my expeirence (16 years working various IT and computer repair gigs), Logitech makes really solid products. I have yet to have a logitech product fail me. I still have many of their products that are working even after over 10 years of use. I was very happy to see they had a mouse that fit my needs this time around because I have had nothing but sub-par experiences with other brands in the last 5-6 years. Mouse choice is always a preference. Not everyone will like the same mouse every time, in fact I ordered this half expecting to not like how light it is and then end up returning it. If you think you want to give this mouse a try, don't let other peoples reviews sway you against it. ... show more

  • Very Impressed
I had the g700 for the past 4-5 years and the right mouse button finally stopped working. I was debating about what mouse to replace it with, and decided that I could NOT go back to a wired mouse. I narrowed down my choices to the Razer Mamba, SteelSeries Sensei Wireless Mouse, and the g900. My biggest hold up with the g900 was, of course, the big price tag. I mean, this sucker costs more than my headset! (Logitech g930). As you can tell, I'm a big logitech fan. They make good products that last me at least 5 years and have great customer support. But I wanted to explore my options, so I looked into the Mamba and Sensei mice. I nixed the mamba mouse because of software issues. If I'm going to pay that much for a mouse, shouldn't it work out of the box? Too many complaints of software issues and end user trouble shooting/tweaking drove me away from this mouse despite it feeling the best in my hand. As for the sensei, I liked the build, but I felt like the dock took up too much space. I like having a minimalistic desk space, and while I know I could have just not used the dock, but I didn't want to not use a part of the product that I was paying for. Comfort: I had friends who own each of the mice so I went over for a test drive of each one to see if I liked the fit in my hand. The one thing I didn't like about my g700 was that my hand would get uncomfortable after long gaming sessions (I use a claw grip - palm doesn't touch the mouse) because of the contour of the mouse. I really liked the symmetric design of the mamba and sensei mice (and the g900 to a degree). Seemed to fit in my hand a lot more naturally. I actually enjoyed the mamba's shape the best, but after using the g900 for a couple weeks, I am glad to say that it is a huge improvement over the g700. No hand cramping/fatigue after a 4 hour gaming session, so I am a happy camper. Build: It is a LOT lighter than the g700, mamba, and sensei. I had my wife try using my mouse and she said that the lightweight quality of the mouse made it feel cheaper. Personally, I prefer a little more weight to my mice but I definitely appreciate the fact that I don't have to use as much energy to move my mouse from point a to point b due to the weight. The left/right mouse buttons have a noticeably higher resistance than my g700. I don't find the higher resistance off putting, but some might. I don't play mmos, so the two thumb buttons on the left hand side of the mouse is enough for me. I can see how adding buttons to both sides of the mouse can cause issues with accidental presses for people who want 4 extra mouse buttons though. Look: Looks like an expensive mouse. I like that they weren't too extravagant with the design like they were with the g502. The customizable LED lighting is a nice touch (I think this is becoming industry standard for "gaming" mice), especially coming from the non-led g700. I finally have a completely matching set up with red/black. Setting up the lighting was very simple, but they only have 2 options: color cycle (it just cycles through its color spectrum, no option to pick colors), and "breathing effect" (you select one color and it fades that color in and out, you can adjust how quickly it does this). Battery: The lack of a removable battery is a huge adjustment for me. I was able to just swap out rechargeable batteries on the fly for my g500 so I wouldn't be encumbered by wires, but if you forget to charge this mouse, you're forced to plug it in. Charge is extremely fast, though. I believe I went from 0 charge to 100% in less than an hour (don't quote me on this though). I constantly forget to turn the mouse off when I'm not using it so I find myself needing to charge it every 3-6 days depending on use. I use my computer about 4-6 hours/day for reference. Tracking: This mouse is amazing. I have literally not had a single drop and experience no input lag whatsoever. Near the end of my g500's life, I noticed a little bit of hanging and (very rarely) some drops in connectivity. Some people report that the wireless response time is better than the wired response time. I have not noticed that. If you use the logitech software, you can actually tune your mouse to whatever surface you are using your mouse on, which I thought was really cool. Overall: Very impressed with this mouse. I do not regret my decision at all. Will update if anything changes. ... show more

  • Understandably hefty price, but well worth it.
This is the ultimate gaming mouse in my opinion, and has a cost to match. It feels very high quality, even though it is mostly, if not all plastic. They did this to save weight, and the difference is clear. It is extremely light, almost unbelievably light. It is almost like a stripped out super car, they save weight wherever possible, they even removed the unnecessary parts of the scroll wheel, making it spoked, almost like a bike wheel. While each individual weight shedding may seem insignificant and negligible, they all add up to something astonishing. The light weight may not be for everyone, but personally, I think it is fantastic. The RGB lighting is a nice feature, but it eats up a decent amount of power. I keep it set to breathing, to save power. I would set it to off, but then it doesn't even display the current DPI setting when you change it, you're left guessing and estimating. It is ambidextrous with 11 possible programmable buttons (left click, right click, scroll wheel left/right/down, DPI Up/Down, two on the right side, two on the left) you can remove the ones on the left and the right, replacing them with a solid, single piece that doesn't move. I have both buttons on both sides, just to add options. It is extremely comfortable for an ambidextrous mouse, but not quite as comfortable as a mouse like the G502. It doesn't have as many buttons as the G700s, but has plenty for just about anything besides MOBA's where you need tons of macros. The sensor is quite simply, the best sensor on the market, I won't touch on that much, as you can find plenty on this sensor elsewhere, and I am no expert. (It is the PMW3366). It has way more DPI than you would ever need, and is the most accurate sensor I've ever used. The software for this and all other Logitech peripherals is intuitive and a pleasure to use. It gives you more options than I know what to do with, but it does everything I need. I never once needed to look up help with it, because as I said, it is incredibly intuitive. Corsair could learn quite a few things from Logitech in this respect. The clocks are very satisfying and tactile. They are my personal favorites among any gaming mouse. The buttons on the side your thumb is on are very easy to press, while the ones on the opposite side are slightly tricky to press, but work well nonetheless. You can have multiple profiles and settings loaded on the mouse, available at the press of a button. The DPI switches are perfect for on the fly sensitivity adjustments, and I don't plan on ever using them for macros. The difference in input time between wired, and either wireless setup is not just negligible, I couldn't even notice if I tried. I put lag on wireless mice has always bugged me with all the other wireless mice I've tried, and I'm thankful it is a non-issue here. The approximate battery life without lighting is 35 hours, but it is reduced to 29 with breathing and 25 with all out RGB. As I said, I keep mine at breathing to strike a compromise between battery life, usability, and the cool factor. Being a full time college student, and part time Home Depot Employee, I understand budgeting my money. I had a G700s, but was unsatisfied with it, and decided to sell it when the G900 came out. I have a weekly salary of between $200 and $300, so this was not a small purchase for me. I am happy to inform you, that this purchase was worth every penny, and is not just the best wireless mouse on the market, but the best gaming mouse on the market. If you play only MOBA games, I would recommend something with more buttons, and if you play many genres of games, including MOBA's, I would recommend this mouse either by itself, or complimented by a cheap MOBA mouse, if you can afford that. The accuracy in MOBA mice isn't as important as for an FPS mouse, so the quality of the sensor and therefore the price, will be lower depending on your needs. Overall, I would give this mouse a 9.5 out of 10 which rounds up to a 5/5. If you're looking for a high quality mouse perfect for first person shooters, look no further. ... show more

  • Best mouse ever made, thank you Logitech.
This thing is absolutely perfect. I have large hands and use a fingertip/claw grip because most mice are too small for me to comfortably rest my hand on. Before buying this, I tried a Razer DeathAdder Elite, Logitech G Pro, and Steelseries Rival 300. I had been using a Logitech G9 before this, but after getting back into gaming it was clear that the laser sensor wouldn't cut it. It was impossible to get precision hits in Overwatch and CS:GO. Naturally, the sensor on this mouse is great. If you're spending $130 on a gaming mouse you probably already know that this is using a top-end sensor. It never spins out no matter how crazy you get with it, and the lift off distance is very small. Most importantly, the shape is perfect for me. The indentations in the sides give me a good grip that I do not have to readjust while gaming, and requires very little effort to hold onto while lifting and resetting. I generally pinch the sides right in the middle of the mouse (lengthwise) and it seems to be set up for this type of grip. Shape is probably the most important thing when looking for a good gaming mouse. If you're a fingertip or claw user, definitely give it a shot. Not sure about palm grip since my hands to too big to even try palm grip on this mouse, but there are tons of mainstream/cheaper options for palm grip so you probably won't have as hard a time finding the right mouse. The mouse is lightweight. There is pretty much no difference in weight between this and larger wired gaming mice, which seems impossible given the battery inside. It's balanced and does not feel like all of the weight is in the back (something I usually hate about wireless mice). It's balanced and yet extremely sturdy. Nothing rattles on mine. Logitech build quality is usually pretty good and they did not disappoint with this mouse. The primary mouse buttons are easily the best I've used. They have a crisp, audible click that is completely linear, with no gap in the buttons before the switch is activated. The effort is pretty much the same no matter where you click, aside from right at the back where the hinge is, but that's irrelevant since it's unlikely that anyone is going to be resting their fingers way at the back. The side buttons are in a good position that allows them to be used easily without accidentally activating them, and they too have a nice firm click. The scroll wheel is great too, and the fact that they managed to fit the hyperscroll feature is cool. Nice to have for web browsing. Middle mouse button (scroll wheel) is a little mushy but it works and can't be easily activated by accident. On top of the basics, the wireless is mind-blowing. There is basically no perceptible difference between using wireless and wired connectivity. Not having the wire in the way really makes a difference in competitive gaming. It also makes things much easier to deal with if you're like me and sometimes shift your setup around on your desk depending on how you're sitting. I'm always sad when I have to plug it in during the middle of a session due to forgetting to charge it within the past few days. The wire is fine and doesn't get in the way any more than it does on a normal gaming mouse, but I definitely prefer using it wirelessly. However, if you remember to charge it, there's no chance you're going to run out of battery in the middle of a session. The battery life is amazing and you'll usually get 25+ hours out of one charge. One thing that would be nice to have is a simple dock with external power, since that would be easier to remember to do after finishing a gaming session in the middle of the night. I'm tempted to buy another one just to have it on hand in case they discontinue these eventually. It's holding up extremely well after several months of gaming with it - basically none of the finish has come off and it still feels like new - but I'm pretty worried about something happening to it because I really don't want to switch to anything else. ... show more

  • Wireless at its best with one of the best sensors in any mouse. Wireless at its best with one of the best sensors in any mouse.
Keep in mind I have only had this mouse for a couple days while reading this review and I plan to update it once I get more time with it. The packaging was nice though I feel it should have been slightly better given the retail price of this mouse. Recently I have owned the logitech g402, g502, and the wireless mamba to name just a few. The g502 ended up being the top pick for me so that is its true competition in my eyes. As far as wireless it blows the mamba away and Imo it wasn't even close. The responsiveness is very good and really hard to tell if there is a difference between this and the g502. I have a lot of wifi signals in my apartment and even more from the rest of the building but haven't had a single issue at all. The buttons are by far the best buttons I have used on a mouse. I loved the g502 and even the g402 but there have been times with those when I have pushed on the button and nothing has happened because I was too high up on the button due to my grip style. That is not a issue here and It doesn't matter where you push the button. High or low it takes the same exact force and always clicks. Those buttons are a thing of beauty. I really like the removable side buttons as well. They have a very nice feel and have a much better position for my grip then the g502 and g402. They also have a really nice soft click making them very easy to use during gameplay. That has caused an issue for me though. Trying to use all four side buttons I found myself accidentally hitting the right side buttons while picking the mouse up because of that soft press. The scroll wheel is also improved over the g502. At least when you think about how it feels new. It is much less clunky and easier to push new. The g502 took effort to scroll and push when new though mine is perfect now and actually broken in to a point it feels better then this. I'm sure this will break in as well and surpass the g502 broken in. For people who don't like to rest their palm on the mouse this has a much better shape then the g502. The shape is very similar to the g402 so anyone who found that mouse comfortable will like this. It also seems to weigh the same as the g402 which is noticeably lighter then the g502. That weight difference may be the reason I am currently giving this 4 stars and not 5. The extra weight of the g502 allowed me to quickly move the mouse and stop on a target without drifting much but I am finding that harder to do with this currently. Because of muscle memory the same force was causing me to move this mouse more then the g502 and missing a lot of shots. In fps games my performance went way down the first day. As of today I just about got used to it and playing just about like I should. Another couple days and should be back to normal. Once that happens and I can be certain that was the cause for my issues I will change the rating to 5 stars. I also don't want to forget to mention the wire. The g502 had a crap wire. It was stiff and mine has had the fabric open up and allow the inner rubber wire to pop out not allowing me to straighten that part of the cable anymore without cutting the fabric. That happened to a part of the wire that never dragged across any service and spent its entire life bundled up to remove a couple feet of the cord. It was just a bad wire all together. The wire that comes with the g900 is greatly improved. It feels of much better quality and is soft and flexible unlike the g502 wire. It plugs snugly into the mouse and has no give at all if you decide to play with it wired during charging. It's a game changer for wireless mice and on par with or better then many of the best wired mice out there. I am so glad I was able to grab one during the sale for $75. At $150 I would have never purchased it and wouldn't have known what I was missing. If I was forced to pick something I don't like about the mouse it would be the lack of rubber grips on the sides. I don't have any grip problems at all with the mouse but I do like the feel of the rubber grips on the g502 and g402. ... show more

  • This mouse is like Achilles, Godlike in build and capability. But it's heel is Logitech's Gaming Software.
The Short and Sweet: Superior battery life in an ultra lightweight but premium feeling durable wireless RGB mouse. A true "game changer" for wireless gaming mice. If it wasn't tied to Logitech's lackluster, aging, simplified gaming software this class of it's own mouse would have me writing to Amazon to allow a special "six star" review. If you get a chance to use one of these consider yourself one of the lucky ones. On Amazon Prime: This product was advertising as potentially having a wait time due to what I can only assume was the newness ( About a week old at the time of order ) and high end-ness of the product. Amazon had it to my door with the Prime free 2-day shipping in EXACTLY 2 days flat when other sites were telling me there was no availability, large delays due to limited units, unsettled sourcing contracts ( I assume ) where some sites just didn't have the unit at all. Overall Summary: The performance of this mouse is superior to any other wired or wireless gaming product I've ever used. Phenomenal battery life and incredible charging speeds make the mandatory ho-hum Logitech gaming software tolerable. Super light weight with a good feel the RGB is nice and colorful, but more useful as the DPI toggle lights than it is in the palm-rest LED which feels more like marketing ploy than bling. The cord is thick and premium feeling with plenty of length if you like them to be long.(lol) The mandibles on either side of the charging cord really lock it into place incredibly securely during charging cycles to the degree that it feels like it's natural wiring. This is not the type of mouse you need to take a break from playing while charging for fear of the micro-usb connection rapidly degrading to failure. The mouse has a really nice feel for right handed, and I've heard it's equivalent for left handed. The side buttons are easy to add or remove physically and they're simple to set up in Logitech's gaming software and can then be set to the onboard memory so they're configured on boot separate of the software. Logitech has been really hammering out good products at rather high pricing, and they've typically offered a "gimme" with the products (a copy of "The Division" for example) to help mitigate the costs and reduce sticker shock. For the G900 this is not the case and when unboxing I felt like there "could be more" when it comes to in-box goodies outside of the standard load out, especially for the buck-fifty price tag. All-in-all if you can manage the high price tag, this is a super premium mouse unlike anything else currently on the market and I would highly recommend it. Feature by Feature: Price-- The price is really really high for this mouse. This is not mitigated by in-box or on-purchase freebies like some other recent RGB capable product releases from Logitech. Some people may not feel comfortable with paying a premium for industry leading technologies. I had an EXCELLENT experience with Logitech Customer Service over a pair of G930's that made me a customer for life (as long as their products justifying it) so while they're pumping out industry leading tech with smart, sleek designs I'm personally fine with paying more for their premium products. Software-- The software is undoubtedly the WORST part of the Logitech Gaming ecosystem well beyond cost and it's the most disheartening aspect of this company's gaming commitment as a whole. I understand the business implications of designing and then maintaining "good software" but WOW if this is the best Logitech can do. If Logitech can only manage a single OS capable software for gaming and manages it this poorly there is a clear and obvious problem in their gaming software department that needs to be addressed if they want to be taken seriously in the gaming industry that is irregardless of their hardware quality. I can "mock" the settings of the ducky shine, and if I were software inclined I can download the SDK for the RGB products, but anyone who isn't will be stuck with the existing gaming software and occasionally software-bricking updates. I hope dearly that Logitech has something huge in the pipelines because their gaming software platform is an embarrassment when used with the incredible gaming hardware they've been pumping out. Buttons-- The buttons have a mechanical "click" and feel great. Logitech boasts "reduced press timing" but I can't say that there is any noticeable difference in timing. They have a wonderfully "clicky" sound on press if you like the mechanical "clicky" sound. If you don't admire the mechanical keyboard click and loud peripherals you may not appreciate this, but it's a click you can hear if you don't have your headset on, and a click you can feel if you do and can't hear the click. There are 2 side-buttons on each side that can be replaced with the included blank plates for a more standard 2-button mouse. They come in a nicely padded, securely fitting, pocket sized holding container with the USB connection in it as well. The container is perfectly sized to keep in your pocket. This is perfect for quick travel and packing light, but it may be catastrophic if it slipped from your pocket during a dark LAN party as the USB stick and transceiver it comes with could be easily lost or become incredibly hard to find on a dark floor. Performance-- WOW! Now I get to be entirely positive! The mouse performance is incredible, Incredible, INCREDIBLE! With ultra high DPI, my game of choice through all of it's bugs and recent downfalls has been "The division" and where my G700 would jump a bit on long shots with the breathing instability of the character, the G900 is flawlessly precise and perfectly responsive. Logitech's software could take a lesson or two from their hardware and engineering department! This thing is snappy, the battery level doesn't affect performance to the last drop of power, and the clicks are accurate, tactile, and effective with a good feel you can feel with your headphones on full blast, and hear with your headphones turned down or when using speakers. Side to side movement is quick, responsive, and precise and that persists across different movement types. I'll detail connectivity in full below but the mouse was much more connected and reliable to not falter than my G700 has ever been. NOTE: This mouse performs even better with a good quality mousepad! Connectivity-- The connectivity is excellent and the mouse lasts forever and has an identical connection profile to the last drop of power where some mice begin to lose functionality as they reach the last few drops of power in the single digit percentages. I live in a signal dense area and where the G700 would get buggy here and there the G900 performs flawlessly throughout every single percentage point of it's battery life. I haven't really tested the range yet but I don't know who would be further from their machine besides big screen gamers on the couch. Battery-- Battery life is equally amazing to what Logitech stated, it charges super fast and lasts super long. The LED puts a reasonable impact on the overall battery life duration and you have the option to turn the lights off to extend the battery life. I've only charged it three times since procuring it 7 days ago and that includes the out-of-box mandatory but unnecessary charging. The nice thing about the battery for this and all Logitech devices is when running the software alerts are posted to the screen at 10, 5, and LOW so you know in enough time to finish a round up and get your charger cord out. Cords and Connections-- The cords are a nice braided fabric cord with thick plastic high quality usb plugs. The cords are fabric so they could fray if you're dragging them over metal or otherwise sharp edges continually. The USB connectors look sturdy but can be crowding and even impossible to plug in, in series. Some more thought could have been put into having many Logitech plug-ins on 1 grouping of USB plugs. I assume if I plugged a bunch in near each other they utilize the FULL and exact spacing between USB ports and look great altogether with a much more uniform look if they are the ONLY usb connector types plugged into any group of standard USB ports. There is a "mandable" side to this advertised in all the pictures and let me tell you, this is the MOST under sung feature in the history of peripherals. The mandibles lock into the mouse's body when charging making what would be a flimsy micro-usb connection something that feels secure and very likely to stand up to the test of time unlike all the other micro-usb connections out there, this is one of the game changer features on this mouse for sure! Scroll Wheel-- The scroll wheel feels and looks great. It's a bit larger feeling than most other scroll wheels so slow methodical wheel clicks can be a bit cumbersome at times but overall, and with the Logitech free wheel click option on this mouse it's a fantastic gaming transition of an already perfect feature that Logitech keeps delivering because it's just done right and feels right time and time again. There are apparently scroll wheel gestures, but I have not as of yet used any or even had a need to use any. Build-- The mouse feels by weight alone like it may shatter like an eggshell when you first pick it up because of how light it is. If you don't like lightweight mice and you prefer the solid heavy feel of a RAT this isn't the mouse for you. It doesn't come with any adjustment weights like the Proteus does which was confusing for a gaming mouse and for the price point. On the plus side the extremely high DPI makes even the finest movements register on screen and the light weight may make the mouse easier to nudge ever so slightly in this way. Separately the build quality does not suffer at all in parallel to the weight. I'm a heavy-handed palm resting gamer and the mouse feels remarkably durable and supportive regardless of weighing in at such a light weight. It's pretty amazing overall with the cords, mouse, tightly secure additional pieces, and the space-air-lock tight mandible usb-micro charging port connection. Everything in the build quality just "feels right" about this mouse. Suggestions-- For the gamer, I'd highly recommend this mouse by itself if you don't mind skipping the gaming software and going with stock configurations. It's STILL an excellent EXCELLENT gaming mouse aside. If you're comfortable being all Logitech for your peripherals I'd say go for it for sure because you'll only take 1 gaming software suite's hit. If you don't have a lot of resources or you're gaming on a laptop with dual core and limited ram sharing to the GPU then I'd skip this mouse. I'd recommend highly if in the future Logitech did something to make their gaming software work better, expanded the customization features, and reduced the resource drain it incurs on systems. I'd also rethink the "G" placement if possible and place it somewhere that the lighting could be useful in-game if the engineering of the materials allows it in a useful and tastefully designed way. ... show more

  • Mouse with a few cosmetic flaws, but offers awesome performance and design. Mouse with a few cosmetic flaws, but offers awesome performance and design.
What an awesome product from Logitech. Well built and designed splendidly. From the nice audible mouse clicks of its buttons to how light the mouse actually is this is a very well thought out product. The mouse responds instantaneously on wireless as far as I can tell. On an older wireless Logitech mouse I had to click multiple times for the click to register. Not being attached to a wire also means more freedom. There is no unnecessary wire pull that may occur with a cord. You can use the mouse while tethered to reduce the response time, but wireless has worked perfectly for me so far. The cord is quite sturdy and has some heft to it. If you are using the mouse while tethered you may not want the wire to dangle as it can cause wire pull due to the heftiness of the cord. The mouse has a matte finish which is a nice touch, but Logitech also decided to throw in some glossy pieces which is very susceptible to scratches and fingerprints. The DPI buttons, scroll wheel button, forward and backward buttons, and parts of the underside of the mouse utilizes glossy plastic. For a premium product I would expect a manufacturer to use premium materials through and through so the choice for Logitech to use such a material is a mystery to me. Especially on buttons that are frequency touched it is let down for an OCD person like myself. However, this is just a minor cosmetic problem and has no affect on the performance of the mouse itself. The left and right mouse clicks have a very fulfilling feeling when pressed. It does not truly matter where you click these buttons as it registers just the same. The scroll wheel has a nice rubberized finish and provides a bit of grip while scrolling. Hyperscroll can be activated and disabled by pressing the button directly beneath it. The slower scroll provides a tactile feedback as it has a "click" with each subtle turn of the wheel. Under the scroll wheel button are the two DPI buttons for quick profile switching. For some the DPI buttons may be quite small, but for me the buttons worked as intended. You can have up to five different DPI profiles. The profile you are using is indicated by the light bars directly beneath the buttons. Although the DPI on this mouse have a rating of 12,000 I have yet to come anywhere remotely close to that figure. At about 3,000 DPI the mouse can easily zip from the left to the right of my 4K display with little effort. You can adjust the DPI for more precision or speed at a finger's touch readily. The mouse may be awkward to hold at first due to its size and ambidextrous design so it make take some time to adjust. The forward and backward buttons are placed a bit too high when I have my hand resting on the mouse. Depending on the size of your hands and how you grip the mouse this may or may not be the mouse for you. On a side note, the forward and backward buttons can be completely removed or added to one or both sides of the mouse. The buttons are magnetically attached so swapping the pieces out are easily done. On the bottom of the mouse, dust can easily get caught along the edges of the glide stickers so cleaning it regularly is a must. The matte finish on the majority of the mouse also provides a nice resistance to fingerprint and sweat. The programmable RGB indicators are also a nice addition. Keep in mind if you are connected wirelessly with the lighting on you will get up to 24 hours of battery life compared to 32 hours with the lights off. There is a power switch on the bottom of the mouse so do not forget to turn off the mouse when not in use. Overall, I really enjoy the looks and feel of this Logitech product. Price may seem a bit excessive, but having something I enjoy using on a day to day basis may outweigh the cost. This mouse may not be for everyone so I recommend giving it a test drive before purchasing. If you do decide to purchase this mouse you will not believe how light this mouse actually is. I can lift and readjust the mouse with little effort. The packaging is also worth mentioning as it should with a premium product. Logitech has designed the perfect box for presenting such a premium device. Side the top cover off and you are presented with a box. Open the box like a piece of jewelry and basting in all its glory is your precious new mouse. What a sight to behold. ... show more

  • Perfect mouse
I bought this while it was on sale on a splurge. I hadn't considered purchasing a wireless mouse or keyboard in the last ten years as my experience with them in the past is of annoying surprise battery deaths, latency and generally low reliability for a device that tends to sit in one static location most of the time anyways, what's the point? While I still don't feel much of a need for a wireless keyboard, getting rid of the wire on my mouse ended up being a huge weight off my shoulders as I now have a far more comfortable time moving my mouse around without the weight of the cord tugging at it, and allows me wiggle room in my hand's orientation as I no longer need to keep the mouse straight. And while it is a rare thing to need, I do appreciate being able to move my mouse around to different locations without having to deal with a cord (such as using your PC on the couch hooked up to a TV). And since the wireless dongle is a simple USB, you can switch between using it on multiple devices very easily. The battery life on the mouse is amazing, I feel as though I only end up plugging it in about once a week. Thankfully when it does start to run dry, the mouse itself will warn you with a red LED so it never catches you by surprise. The quality of the mouse is great and feels good in the hand, the RGB colors on the logo are customizable (although I like the default rainbow fading), the side buttons have a nice click to them, and you can expand it by attaching buttons to each end for a total of 4 side buttons. I love the ability to edit the macros each button does. It's a great successor to my old Logitech G9. My only semi-complaint is that it is a very long mouse (especially coming off of the very stubby G9), so getting used to how far out your two fingers need to be for the mouse buttons might take a few days. ... show more
