  • I tried both Clicky and Tactile versions
First off, this is a great keyboard at a much higher value than the recently released g815/915. I got the opportunity to try both Clicky and Tactile switch versions of this board side-by-side for a couple days. Both versions have a solid, quality build throughout and support all the same features. That said, there are several differences I wanted to share: Clicky: -The switches have a very distinct sound and feel at the point of actuation -Features a non-braided dual-USB cord -All special characters and secondary key function icons are unlit on the keycaps -The underside of all keycaps glow (and this makes a noticeable difference in a dark room, but is not necessarily bad) -Finally, the aluminum body is more of a black color with a silver 'G' logo -($49 at the time of this review) Tactile: -The switches produce a more typical (almost plastic dome switch) sound while typing but feature a decent key 'bump' at the point of actuation. -Features a higher-quality braided dual-USB cord -All secondary key functions and special characters are lit -The underside of the keycaps are opaque and no light shines through -Finally, the aluminum body is more of a grey/silver color with a black/reflective 'G' logo -($99 at the time of this review) Now for my personal take on the typing and gaming experience of each board. I found the clicky switches to be extremely pleasant to type on from day one, but also annoyingly high-pitched and loud. The responsiveness is amazing and the audible feedback is unmistakable. There's no doubt you fired the key. But in my case, it was just too much. I like my keyboards loud and obnoxious but this one was constantly distracting me from the game and I never became so immersed that I lost awareness of it. So, I opted to try the tactile switches. I was surprised to see the numerous changes from the last board to this one, but my first impression upon use was disappointment. The key noise is much more muted than I'm used to and the keys feel almost mushy compared to the clicky board. But after using it for several hours I've adapted and now I prefer this board to the other. The 'bump' is enjoyable and I can now use my computer late at night without waking up the house! (I'm coming from a FILCO Majestouch mechanical KB that I've used for about 10 years, for reference.) Other than that, both boards have exactly the same features and are equally supported by the Logitech 'G Hub' software for custom key assignments and 'Lightsync' RGB settings (which are really cool!) I think the board you most prefer will simply come down to personal preference, but the tactile board being twice the price is a huge factor. ... show more

  • very nice
Great keyboard. I love the backlight on the keys so I can tell what I am typing even in low or no light. The keys a re a bit "springier" than I was hoping (I prefer mechanical keyboards), but they work just fine.

  • Absolutely worth it. Loving it.
I've had the keyboard for a few months now and I absolutely love it. Keypress feels amazing with a really pleasant tactile feel to it (not clicky loud). I didn't think I would notice a difference from the quicker activation height but I did. Typing is quicker and in-game response as well. Keys feel good on the fingers and RGB lights are high quality and shine evenly with no bleeding on the side of the keycaps (due to how logitech sensor is designed). The keyboard has excellent weight to it and a handy groove at the bottom for routing your headphone cable. The passthrough USB is very handy (I've attached a logitech G305 mouse to it). The accompanying software works great and takes care of my keyboard and mouse settings. Highly recommend this keyboard. ... show more

  • Perfect keyboard
As far as I am concerned this keyboard is the best I have ever used across a small amount. Prior to this I had a Corsair, and for work I frequently use the cheap Dell keyboards. After a day or two I was more than comfortable with this keyboard and have not felt it become any sort of hindrance in my ability to play a wide variety of games both ones that are slow and others that require twitchy reactions. I am also a huge typist and do my share of non gaming on my computer and have no complaints either. The keyboard looks great, the backlit keys look great, even over a month later I haven't cleaned it yet but it still looks like new and has held up perfectly fine. Logitech software is very straight forward to use, or at least compared to the Corsair one for its mice/keyboards. I have no real complaints otherwise. ... show more

  • not worth the its price
when at first i tried this, i was very satisfied with tactile feeling and sound of clicks. after about two months it starts to be fail a part. keys begin not registering. left shift, then right shift. it gets worse and worse. after 7 months it is unusable. see my sentences with lower letter here. my previous chinese 13$ generic keyboard still works perfect after 5 years. so don't buy this crap. ... show more

  • Solid keyboard, keys feel good. Fatigue and wrists end up hurting after long periods of typing.
This keyboard does not come with a palm rest. It should. Pros: The build quality is fantastic and very solid. Everything about it is solid and high quality. I got the Romer-G Tactile keys and I like the feel. The 45gf and 55gf on the key press is pretty good, by the end of a long night of gaming, your fingers will get slightly tired. Cons: The keys are tall and you're bending your wrist a lot. I'm used to a Logitech K750 wireless and Apple Magic keyboards (I know those don't use mechanical keys and it's a totally different animal). This thing is considerably taller and your wrists and hands will fatigue and hurt after a day of typing. I don't know a better way to say this, but while the build quality is solid, the edges of the keys are "sharp", as is the edge of the frame. Again, I think a palm rest would fix all of this, but I'm ultimately going to look for a low-profile gaming keyboard and probably give this to one of my kids because my hands can't take it. Suggestions: Logitech should really include a palm rest with this, it might be one of the most perfect keyboards I've ever used and I can tell it's going to last a while. If this came with a palm rest, I'd have given it a 5 for value. ... show more
