  • Far better than mouse/keyboard, but does not feel like an actual yoke in an airplane when flying
Style: Yoke Only
This flight yoke and throttle quadrant system requires a tabletop to attach to in order to make them a fixed part of your desk. That is, they require an exposed edge so that a screw can be tightened from underneath in order to secure the controls to your desk, else they will just move all over as you try to fly the simulator. (The screw in this case is more like a vice that squeezes the top and bottom around the desk - there isn't anything that you actually need to screw into your desk). Be aware that while these are customizable and a million times better than flying with a mouse/keyboard, the yoke's action is different than flying a real plane. For example, in a real airplane, you feel the weight of the controls as the wind resists against your action, such as when holding the nose up in a climb. Yes, there is a tension mechanism built into this yoke that makes it harder to pull the yoke out past the neutral position (feels more like a bungee strap than force feedback), but in a real plane, you can trim to relieve that pressure and feel it working. Trimming in a simulator doesn't do anything to relieve the pressure that you're holding on the yoke - you have to manually release the pressure back to the neutral position yourself, and this can set you up for confusion if you practice at home and then go out to fly a real plane (or vice versa). Also, the yoke does not rotate a full 180 degrees from side to side as it would in a real airplane. The throttle quadrant has controls for throttle, prop, and mixture, including "reverse" positions that are less than zero (think: thrust reverser). Below the quadrant levers are switches that can be bound to actions in your simulator. I paired this yoke/throttle system with the Logitech rudder pedals, and am quite happy. The yoke itself has a USB hub, so the rudder pedals plug into this hub, and you only need one USB cable to run to your computer. ... show more

  • Great for 9 months. Not so much, now! But Logitech stands behind their products!
Style: Yoke Only
It is known that people who are completely satisfied with their products seldom write reviews unless provided incentives to do so. I have NOT been provided any incentives, other than the desire to honestly inform others about what my product experience has been to date with this Logitech-Saitek yoke assembly. Hopefully, that will explain why I have not written ANY review of this product until now. I have had a great record of success with both Amazon and their various product manufacturers standing behind their merchandise. I hope that I can write a follow-up to this review stating that this record has not been broken. I purchased the Logitech-Saitek flight simulator yoke & throttle assembly a little over 8 months ago. It has performed flawlessly, until recently. Now the return springs for 2 of the thumb switches on the right handle of the yoke (B&C) have become weak and sticky and sometimes do not return to their respective null positions. In my set-up this means that I don't always know if the landing gear have retracted or extended. The same goes for the flaps. I hoped that perhaps they might get better, but like most mechanical issues - they have NOT gotten better with time. Although no longer covered by Amazon's free return policy, the system is still under the 1-year manufacturer's warranty. So, I do not intend to disassemble the yoke handle to further examine the problem until I have heard back from the manufacturer. I hope that Logitech will offer me a satisfactory solution. Updated, 25 October 2019: I contacted Logitech support and filed an email complaint. After explaining the situation I was experiencing, they requested that I take a short video of the problem(s), including the serial number of the system and submit to them. After doing that they then requested that I destroy the old yoke and quadrant assembly, (Probably to discourage re-selling/re-purposing the defective units.) and provide proof of same. I cut the cables off each device, took 3 photos of each with a hand written identification note displayed clearly in each and sent them back to Logitech. A little over a week later I received a brand-new (not refurbished) flight yoke and throttle quadrant system. I couldn't say more about what a positive experience this was. Logitech clearly understands the meaning of "Customer Service"! Thank you, Logitech! ... show more

  • This yoke is perfect for everybody.
Style: Yoke Only
This particular yoke, the standard of most aviation enthusiasts and flight simulation hobbyists, is a perfect yoke for those who willingly want to switch from a simple joystick to a fully-fledged, basic yoke and throttle quadrant system. The deadzone is near non-existant with the recent updates from Logitech, (no longer Saitek) and the only issues I have is the sudden shift of center that happens occasionally when I leave it plugged in for a while. The throttle quadrant is perfect and the yoke itself is stable and sturdy, able to do all simple flight manuevers, the material is durable and lasts for a very long time, but a small problem when you have sweaty hands. The only restriction is the 45 degrees of turn when you turn it left or right, and the small detent when you let go of the yoke. The pitching system is perfect, and there are many configurable buttons and switches. The only difficulty many would face is the lack of precision, but nonetheless it is workable. The included clampers are a great help as well, when you don't want to move your yoke everywhere. The added function of a timer and clock is useful for timing and for general purposes in real life situations. Basically, don't fall into the hate given to this yoke. It has changed a lot from the start and is more reliable nowadays, as a functional and fixable yoke for all to enjoy. I use it everyday ever since I got it and it is perfect!! 4 out of 5. Perfect gift. ... show more
