This lock replaced another one I reviewed elsewhere, a complete POS that fell apart after about two weeks of light wear. This LOFICOPER Combination Padlock appears not to share the same characteristics. Sturdy, with very easy to read numbered barrels make reading in low light conditions much more efficient. The flexible braided wire shackle may not hold up to a determined thief but for most low security items, it should be fine. It also has the advantage of being MUCH easier to thread eyeholes on things like trash dumpster lift handles. All in all, a buy I am very pleased with. I use this lock to secure my outdoor rabbit pen at night. So far it has held up well to the weather. These locks can easily be hacked (my 14 year old brother tried it), so it's not for securing something very valuable. I'd recommend for simple security.

My initial reaction to opening the lock and resetting the combination was that it did not appear to be very sturdy. The shackle wobbles in the fixed end of the lock. I yanked on it trying to see if I could break it, which I couldn't, but I wouldn't bet against a crowbar. I had originally purchased this for locking my bike to my truck bike rack, but I just don't feel confident in the lock. I'll use this around the house or on camping trips to keep people honest. The combination is simple to reset. One "feature" or "flaw" is the number 0 (zero) is raised higher than the other numbers. I have no idea the reason for this, but it does look odd if your reset combination contains the number 0. ... show more
