A little disappointed that these rusted at the first rain. I wouldn't mind so much but the keyhole rusted and the key struggles going in and out now. A bit frustrating considering we were specifically looking for outdoor waterproof locks for this reason. This is listed as waterproof, not so as it rusts quickly.     • cheap locks, you're getting what you pay for
long, thin shanks, cheap keys, 3 pins...i wouldn't recommend using these in an area where the general public would have access to them. i ordered them to practice my lockpicking, and was a bit shocked at how easy they were to open with minimal effort

    • Not as solid as the title suggested
I bought these locks a few months ago. As soon as I took them out of the package, I felt like they were not as strong and secure as locks should be. Unfortunately, one of them broke a week after I bought them, and the other one comes undone by pulling strongly at one of the ends.

I use this on the backyard gate. The length of the locks is perfect for whichever side of the gate i am on. i wouldn't use it to lock up a scooter, but for light duty this is great

I needed these to secure a locker at work and it’s look, durability and functionality is as I expected. The main reason I like these are because the shanks are long and can fit through almost anything. The one worry I have is the keys as they aren’t thick and strong making them liable to break easily. Only time will tell. If you’re silly enough to think these would be for heavy duty use then you must have been blind to the pictures on the product page. Be mindful of what you want protected and if it’s priceless to you then get locks equal to it. ... show more

    • Holding up in the weather, seem to be sturdy locks
The Lockwise 2 Pack Long Shackle Padlock are securing chains to keep my gas grill and gazebo from "walking away" in my less-than-safe neighborhood. The locks seem to be sturdy construction, and are holding up well in the weather. I am concerned that, someone with bolt cutters, could probably cut through the shank part and remove them, but so far, no one seems to show up with tools. ... show more

    • A fine lock for protecting things that are worth less than $10.
What does one expect for a lock that costs $4.50 ea.? I didn't expect much and I got what I expected. The best uses for these locks are locking kid's treasure chests and keeping kids from opening gates, sheds, cupboards and toolboxes. "Light duty" is accurate. The shackles are roughly 3/16" (<5mm) in diameter (very skinny) and the shackle has not been hardened. A pair of bolt cutters will go right through them so don't use these locks to protect anything that costs more than it costs a thief to buy a pair of cheap bolt cutters. The lock body has sharp edges from machining so if you are buying these for your kids to play with, you might want to run a file or deburring tool along the edges before handing them to the kids. Each lock does come with three keys, which is a good thing if you are letting the kids play with them. Give them one key and keep the others for when the first key inevitably gets lost. (And, if all three keys are lost, a pair of bolt cutters will solve the problem and a replacement lock only costs $4.50.) ... show more
