I love the Lock&Lock brand. I've been using them for quite a long time. My oldest pieces are at least 9 or 10 years old and are still going strong. I use them constantly. They keep everything I put into them fresh. They are quite durable and clean up very nicely in the dishwasher (top shelf). This Cereal Dispenser has the familiar 4 flaps, one on each quadrant of the lid, that engage the equally familiar tabs on each quadrant of the body of the piece. The maximum dimensions of the container with its lid on are 9 3/4 inches tall, 9 5/8 inches deep and 4 1/2 inches wide. It also has a closable spout on its top and that, I feel, is where L&L missed the boat. The spout has no silicon seal! It doesn't really seal the opening, it just kind of sits on top of it. I cannot understand the logic of giving us the usual airtight and watertight closure for the container's top and then completely compromising it with an ordinary press-fit lid on the spout. It's just silly and it's the reason why this is the first Lock&Lock product that I've rated at less than 5 stars. Still, I can report after using it for several boxes of cereal that I've had no staleness or insect issues. The spout stays up after you lift it and pouring Corn Flakes or Cheerios or Raisin Bran into a bowl couldn't be easier. The container's capacity fits regular size cereal boxes quite comfortably, but the large, Family-Size boxes don't quite make it all in. ... show more

Measuring in at approximately 9 5/8" high, 9 1/4" deep and 4 1/8" wide this so called CEREAL container is perfect for 5lbs of FLOUR! Keeping a wide variety of flours in our food supplies I was looking for containers that would fit in my refrigerator without wasting too much space. I purchased three of these and they are PERFECT for our needs! Due to us using these for flour I ALWAYS remove the entire lid when removing the contents as I am either wanting a whole cup or half a cup. I have had no issues with the side flaps coming off or going back on. A definite keeper in our house! Why keep flour in the fridge? I don't want it to go rancid as we purchase ground WHOLE grains, normally in 5lb bags. (If I had room in my freezer I would store it in there.) I always loved my cereal storage containers from Lock & Lock. I’ve had them for several years but this year I gave one to my daughter because she liked how sturdy they were. I found new ones on Amazon after looking at so many local stores with no luck. Unfortunately, the containers were not made as sturdy as my previous containers. The tops and the flip dispenser cover are quite flimsy and the top has come apart several times which doesn’t bode well for their longevity. Very disappointed. ... show more

Like most Lock and Lock food storage containers, the cereal dispenser is high quality and seems durable. It is important to note, however, that it is NOT airtight as Lock and Lock claims. Yes, it has the same kind of silicone seal around the edges of the top, and it locks in place firmly. But the dispensing door on the top has no seal; it is just plastic-on-plastic. If you give the container a squeeze, you can hear air moving in and out of the dispensing door. Otherwise, I like the container a lot. It is well made and spacious, yet fits well in a typical kitchen cabinet. The dispensing door has a click stop to latch open so it won't flop down when you pour cereal out. I only wish that there were an airtight seal around the door because I bought it to keep ants out of my cereal. I haven't had any insect problems yet, but Lock and Lock needs to be honest about their product. ... show more

I bought one of these to hold a typical 1kg spool of TPU. The spool fits. The main lid has a gasket but the smaller lid to pour something from does not... I'm not sure if this will be a problem or not. I could always print a gasket if it bothers me. Only 4 stars because the pictures all show the pour spot with gaskets. ... show more
