This is a nice rug-soft. I do not recommend for pet owners or at least cat owners though. It is very hard to get things out of it (like cardboard pieces from when they scratch their nails on cardboard scratchers) and of course when they vomit, which with cats is quite often because they are jerks (just kidding). Vacuuming doesn't work too well because bits of scratcher cardboard seem to get trapped in it (use lift away Shark) even with wand attachment so typically shake it and spend a bit of time vacuuming. Since it is not flat it makes it a little harder to clean but this is a very nice rug-it's just hard to have white fluffy rugs with cats. ... show more

If you're like me where your purchases depend on reviews, then hopefully my review can help you out. When this rug arrived it was in a small box and I was shocked because I ordered in 9x5 I was expecting something heavier and beefier..but upon opening I realized it was vacuum sealed-even then I was worried. I cut open the package laid out the rug and was like oh no. Imagine laying a towel down as a rug that's how thin this thing was. My dogs kept bunching it up as they walked across because it was so thin their little toes would catch on it and it would roll up. I looked at the little note and it said it would puff up within 48 hours, so I was thinking "okay let's see" cuz as it is now, it's not going to work. As the day went on I noticed it got puffier and squishier by the hour, by the time my husband got home and he walked in he thought he stepped on something because his foot just squished on down (his words) and then he said "oh nice rug". LOL by the second day it really was thick. It was soft it was plush it was beautiful. I now have two- one at my front door and one in my second living room. I would recommend this rug not only for the price but the quality. Do note, that the backing on this is like a fabric with little rubber knobs, I have mine on carpet and it stays in place I can't vouch how it will do on hardwood floors but I think it will do great there also. The fur is slippery-ish. What I mean is, if you're wearing socks, you can slide across it and honestly, you can't help doing it on purpose because it feels so good on your feet. It's a polyester feel VS. a cotton feel. I would definitely buy this again and probably will next Prime day! ... show more

The rug came air sealed and folded tightly. When I first opened it, I was not prepared. It has an awful smell to it which I suspect is from the dyes. I popped it in the washer on cold and air dried it for a day and that fixed the problem. It no longer smells weird. It is so far, very soft and fluffy. I just love this area rug. It came packed in a vacuum packed bag so don’t be alarmed. When I opened it up it was like a memory foam mattress. It expanded overnight. The rug has about ¼ inch foam backing with thin shag, very soft, silky and feather-like fibers on top. Pros: looks good and initially feels good on bare feet. Cons: the top of the rug might be too slippery for some people (the under side has grip dots), unlikely to hold up to moderate to heavy use since the materials are fair at best, pricey for what it is after seeing it.
