UPDATE -- After having streamed with it, like the IETS 600, it's not a perfect solution my computer still runs pretty hot. I'd say maybe there's a 5-10% reduction in temps, I crank it up to about 1800 rpm for gaming/streaming. I do believe this fan is quieter than the IETS 600, another reason to pick this one up. Per the original review below, the power button is rather unpredictable to operate, it usually doesn't work, I'll live with it. Otherwise the color changing buttons are fun, but I can't turn the LEDs off, no key combo I can find does that. -------------- Original review: I had a "cheap" cooler over the years, but lately I'm trying to stream and play games on my laptop. It's a gaming laptop, and it ran really hot, certainly hot enough to get CPU throttling at times, though I never tested for that. We're talking Core Temp reporting peaks of 100 degrees and average temps in the 80s-90s. At rest, with the Llano fan at 1000 rpm, my Laptop 3060 GPU is reporting 37 degrees, as opposed to 48 degrees on the old cooling stand. (the old one is a Thermaltake you can't get anymore) I haven't gamed/streamed yet with the Llano cooling pad, I'm mostly writing this review to constrast this with the IETS 600 cooler using the same MSI Pulse GL76 laptop. BUTTONS -- the plus The reason I returned the IETS 600 cooler, it was working (not as well as the Llano at idle, though). But the button drove me crazy! They are "solid state buttons" meaning there's no movement in the button. It's just sensing your fingertip. On the IETS 600, all three buttons are like this. You'll read below why my laptop was overhanging these buttons, but it was frustratingly impossible to make the buttons do what I wanted on the IETS600. Much improved design is on the Llano cooler pad here, yes the on off button is a bit tricky and honestly as I write this I can't turn the thing off. But the fan control is a roller button, it's great! I can control the fan speed exactly where I want this running, no fuss, no frustration. Honestly I can live with the power button I'll just turn the fan down to 300 when the laptop is off, if I can't get the power button to work. And I have had issues with iPads in the past where at most angles my finger isn't recognized, so maybe I'm weird and the buttons will be fine for you. FIT - a minus on both cooling pads, but you can make it work Here's the real problem with these coolers and they can't really "fix it" unless they make a new foam piece for different laptops. Before you buy this, check out the bottom of your laptop. Do the cooling vents come to the edge of the base of your laptop? Then let's hope it's only on one edge, otherwise this cooler won't work for you. Basically, you set your laptop on the foam base and it makes an air seal. That means ideally there's at least about a 1/2" edge with no cooling vents around the base of your laptop. In my case, on the left side, the vents come right to the edge. In the back, they are within 3/8" of the laptops "rear edge" (the rear base is not a straight line on these MSIs). So this seems to work, I have the laptop barely sitting on the foam in the back, not at all sitting on the foam on the left side (just butted up against the foam to make a seal) and the bulk of the weight is on the right and front edges of the base. But your mileage may vary and you may find you can't use this type of cooler, depending on how funky your laptop base is. RISK -- don't blow up your built in fans If your laptop is anything like mine, apparently the fans are regular maintenance item, like brakes on your car. You just expect them to go out. Mine did after two years, and I replaced them recently. Now think about what this cooling does, it forces air into your laptop. If you force air into your laptop at a high enough rate, you create positive air pressure (higher than ambient pressure). If you are pushing air into your laptop so fast that there's positive pressure, then you're probably making your laptop's fans race along faster than they want to go. I would assume there's a point where the air being moved through the laptop, at higher rpms, will be too much. Bottom Line... So bottom line I strongly recommend this model even with the issues related to funky laptop bases where the cooling vents come to the edge. It cools my laptop a bunch at idle, I'm sure it will work as well as the the IETS 600 or better, but I'll maybe update this once I stream/game with this setup.

I see a lot of reviews about products and just like most of you the first thought that goes through my head is "Yeah right buddy, not going to trick me out my minimum wage-hard earned dollars, where i get treated like a slave at work", but this product and my review that I leave behind? It's real dood. When the package arrived, I Immediately went to get it to bring it into the room, turned on Path Of Exile 2 on my laptop to set a bench for the temps first before putting the laptop of the new laptop cooling pad. Results while having Path of Exile 2 running before putting the new cooling pad on was: Thermal throttling at 80C (I have it set to turn down CPU and GPU clock speed when it reaches those temps), Fps dropped from 40-45 range in town to 35-40FPS and laptop fans roaring. It wasn't immediate, when I turned on the laptop the Temps were at 70C and then slowly started creeping towards 80C (total of 3 minutes for this to happen). Ok so I got my base bench set. 80C, Thermal throttling amd 35-40fps without the new cooling pad. So let me tell you what happened when I plugged in the new cooling pad and put my laptop on it right away at 1300 RPM on the adjustable dial setting on the pad. Immediately and I mean Immediately the Temps started dropping fast from 80C to 70C, and I was skeptical at first and thought it would stop there but no it kept on going. I was still running PoE2 and standing in the same spot, I noticed my frames jumped back up not only to 45, but now even at 50fps in town (no more thernal throttling), the Temps continued to drop all the way to 65C! I'm pretty blown away by this, every cooling pad I had in the past was maybe 1C drop in Temps or nothing at all. I decided to crank the RPM on the cooling pad to max and saw the Temps stabilize at 60C while running the game... Way to noisy for me, 1200-1300 rpm is the sweet spot for balance of sound and output, anything more is diminishing returns. But we are talking about my laptop before I out in a hard throttle limit upon reaching 80C used to get up to 90C, and this cooling pad dropped it down to 65C at 1200RPM and 59-60C at 2800RPM. That's why I wanted to leave this review, and I was skeptical of everyone else's reviews, but my laptop is getting old, and I already replaced the Thermal paste recently and was tired of worrying about Temps. Also I'd like to mention my laptop is a thin design, Maingear Vector Pro 3080. Not much air flow room in a laptop, and especially not a thin one like mine. This thing is awesome, get one if you are like me and seriously worried about Temps. One thing I'd like to add, is my laptop panel on the bottom only has mesh intakes on 1/3rd of the bottom, and it was still enough for the laptop cooling pad to blow air into there and do its job, how's that for pretty a good deal? 👍

I don't typically write reviews, but I had to make an exception with this product. A little over a year ago, I purchased an MSI Stealth Studio 17. I love this rig, as it's extremely powerful and sleek and can handle anything I throw at it, but of course, it suffers from the same issues gaming laptops typically have; a lack of cooling. This laptop can get so hot at times that it can nearly burn my finger to the touch. That's a major downfall, as heat is a killer for computer hardware. I purchased an external cooling fan 6 months ago, and it really doesn't do too much. So, I was looking at either finding something more powerful, or selling my laptop in favor of a desktop. I was originally looking at Razers cooling fan, but the price point along with the most useful perks being exclusive to Razer devices turned me off. So, I found this one, and decided to give it shot. I'm very glad I did. I can't tell you exact differences with internal temps since I don't have software to monitor that installed, but this is definitely keeping my laptop nice and cool under extreme load! The fans can get loud when cranked up to their max speeds, which is 2500 RPM, but that's not a bother for me as my own laptop fans can be quite loud themselves. It looks like this cooling pad forms a vaccum seal, pulling air through the system and expelling it below. I haven't had to give it a nice deep clean yet, but the company made it rather accessible to do so. The extra USB ports are a nice bonus, though I haven't used them yet. This cooling pad isn't exactly what I'd consider to be easy to transport, it's rather bulky, and requires it's own power supply, but the tradeoff is worth it. So, if you're looking for a solid way to keep your laptop nice and cool, this is definitely your best bet.
