I got the 6x72 but after trying to place in the couch section it wouldn't stay in place. It'd pop out, I think due to its nice quality, and better foam it is in comparison to others I've tried.. it wouldn't stay squished down in place lol. So I had to cut the 6x72 into a 4x72. I used the serrated knife. The foam was so messed up. Turning a 6x72 into a 6x32 would be easy but when u gotta turn the 6 into a 4 that's a very difficult cut to get. Cuz ur going all the way down thru the whole thing. The 4x was so messed up (not straight in the middle, lumpy and even holes) I decided well since it's messed up may as well turn the 4x72 into a 2x72 and then flip both 2x72 into each other with the messed up damage on the insides and at least the 2 clean cut sides would be on the outsides. This time even tried a tack life saw for hopefully a cleaner cut.. nope worked at first ew inches but very difficult to deal with especially in the middle. So then went back to the serrated knife. So anyway I pieced the 2x72 together and basically still got the 4x72 I needed with messed up chunky lump n holes in the middle. And the outer sides are straight and clean cut lol. Either way topped with a couch cover. It's good to go and still comfy. With that said i probably just needed the 3inx72 for a erfect super easy no hassle job.. So make sure u get the right size. Don't depend on a nice cut to fit if u gotta go down the entire thing in the middle. Anyway great foam. Awesome quality, nice seller, I would buy again if I need foam. It's been about a year and this cushion has held up. We are not gentle on couch cushions, with three dogs and three humans, it sees it's fair share of abuse. So, yes, 💯 happy. Still firm and comfy after a year!

    • Bought this to create a downstairs bedroom after my knee replacement

We live in a fairly new two story house with a master bedroom on the second floor. Since I knew I would not be able to do steps for at least a week after my knee replacement, I had to come up with a solution. After calling several medical supply stores a few days before my knee replacement, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I measured our living room couch, which is very long, and thought this would fit nicely on top of the cushions. By the time I returned home from my surgery, the mattress pad was sitting in a box on my front porch. It came in less than a day, and fit perfectly received it the day before my surgery and it fit perfectly! I put a single elasticized mattress sheet over it, and topped it with a flat sheet. As noted above, it came the day of my surgery, and was there by the time I arrived home. I liked sleeping downstairs so much that I stayed there for 3 weeks, even after I could go up and down stairs. It was very convenient because if I needed pills or a drink in the middle of the night, I could just walk into the kitchen. This mattress was so comfortable that other than the fact that it was a single bed, it felt just like my king size bed. I have stored it in the downstairs closet for future use. You never know if you're going to have a guest and run out of guest rooms. Three months after my surgery, an old friend showed up to stay at my house overnight for a special occasion. She stood at the door with a cane, and at 80 years old, I wasn't sure if she would be able to make it up our two flights of stairs. I offered to make up this couch bed but she insisted on going upstairs, and I was holding my breath as she ascended and descended our staircase. The next time someone with such a disability comes, I will insist that they sleep downstairs. Although this was a bit pricey at $70, I am very glad that I purchased it. If I have my other knee replaced next year I know that I am prepared. Plus, if I ever decide that I just want to sleep downstairs, I will not have to sleep on the couch. The good thing was that because of the thickness of this cushion, when I placed it on top of my couch cushions, it was easy for me to sit down on it and get into the bed with one leg totally wrapped in an Ace bandage and unable to be flexed. After calling all those Medical Supply stores, I was surprised that they did not have such a mattress available. It seems that everyone only has hospital beds, and that definitely would not have fit in our living room. ... show more

    • Cutting is tricky

This foam worked for the purpose of revitalizing an old couch-the cushions were flat. For this, the foam was ver well-suited. Cutting was tricky: I wanted to be sure the cut was even through and through, so be sure to measure, measure, measure. I measured for three cushions, and made sure to mark the entire circumference of the foam for each of the three before I used a large knife to slice it. Take your time-you don’t want to make a wrong cut because you really can’t effectively glue the foam if you make a mistake. I only gave it a 4-star mark because the foam, while effective at perking up the old couch, collapses a bit too much with 200lb weight. I have had no complaints about the comfort-everyone says it is much better, but I believe that if it was a tad firmer, it would hold weight that great better. Still, no complaints otherwise, and I am very happy. Thank you to the manufacturers for freshening up my living room! ... show more

    • Great for redoing a sofa

My sofa fabric is still in good shape, but the cushions were shot. I bought this foam after doing some research in hopes to extend the life of the sofa a little. The instructions I read on another site were right as far as rounding measurements up to the nearest whole inch (since the old foam has gotten compacted over time). This foam seems to be nice and dense, but still comfortable, so I'm optimistic it'll last for a while. I ended up cutting the foam to the right size with a box cutter. Wasn't a perfectly smooth edge, but once you wrestle it into the cushion pouches it's not noticeable. Also, getting it into the old sofa cushion covers can be a bit tricky - it's a job that's much easier if you have two people vs one (though is doable with just one if you are able to sit on the cushions the long way to slightly squish the foam down, then pull the fabric over little by little alternating sides). ... show more

We had our furniture for over 15 years. Today it cost over $2500 to replace. Our foam was just disintegrating as will all foam this age. Went out and bought new cushions on sale for $250 as we wanted new inserts as well as new fabric and color. Well, did we make a mistake. Insert was made of fiberfill not foam and it was soft as heck. Originally my wife and i were thinking, who cares at least it look good. Then I went to sit on it one day and said I am out of my mind asking guests to sit on this. So we starting looking everywhere for foam inserts to replace the fiberfill. We found this foam where the description was pretty exact. At least for me because I come the Bra industry where we used foam all the time to make inserts for padding. Anyway, I even have a durometer to measure hardness of foam. This is right on the money and has the stiffness of the original foam. Now I have new foam for another 10 years. Bottom line, don't buy anything else if you want the original firm foam for your outdoor cushions. This is the ONE. ... show more

I had originally bought this foam padding to make a pillow for my cat and dog beds, but they didn’t like padding. I think they didn’t like it because the foam was firm and wasn’t fluffy so they could burrow into it. I wasn’t looking to make any seat cushions and I agreed with my pets that the foam was too stiff for a comfy pillow. I was starting to think I was just going to have to trash the foam and be out the money I had spent on it, but then I noticed my couch cushions. We have a bad habit of crushing the couch cushions down when we are sitting down and they were getting pretty flat and didn’t have much shape left to them. I cut the foam into the same shape as the cushions and stuffed it into the pillow cases, it was perfect. The foam fit in the pillow cases with no problem and you can’t even tell that they are in there. Now my couch cushions look as good as when we first bought the couch. I think the cushions feel much better with the foam because they have more structure and actually offer some support. In the picture the cushion on the right has the foam added and the cushion on the left is without the foam. You can easily see the difference between the two cushions. The foam looks and feels like it is made of good material so I don’t think I’d need to replace it in the next few years. If I ever need to plump up any other cushions for furniture I’d purchase this foam again because I got more than enough foam to fill up two couch cushions and it was a good price for the quality and quantity. ... show more
