I bought these and in about six months at least four of them had waster inside the casing and they supposed to be waterproof .

The write-up says 5000 feet of protection. I seriously doubt that. And you'd have to wonder what kind of gizmo would extend vibrations that far - or perhaps it's a matter of how you line them up? We did not find them very useful for moles in the yard. We stuck them right down into the hill of soil and the moles just came up again nearby. Yes, the noise is a bit annoying. I would not call it "loud." However, the stakes worked great for keeping moles, mice, and rats out of the greenhouse. Also, I found one of our artichoke plants totally chewed down beneath the soil one morning -- leaves lying flat on the ground. I put one of the stakes in the ground next to it and there has been no further damage to the other plants. If you are looking for something to eliminate moles in your entire yard, these probably won't be enough. But if you are looking for something to keep critters out of very specific, smaller areas with softer soil, like in a garden bed or in a greenhouse, they are great. My question, though, is, do they also scare away frogs and snakes? (I would rather keep the frogs and snakes in the garden - they eat a lot of pests.)

Bought a four pack to see if this could help me get rid of whatever was burrowing and tearing up my yard as I didn’t want kill traps. Started off with the stakes close together and it seemed to work great at first but when I began to slowly space them out, needless to say, my yard was torn up again. Putting them close a second go round doesn’t seem to be working even though they are still two inches above ground per manufacturer’s instruction. With how small my yard is, four should be more than enough and the thought of having to purchase any more is laughable. If you have a small yard and don’t move them, you might stand a chance but I can’t say I’d recommend this product to anyone. ***UPDATE*** After my original review, Livin' Well reached out and sent me four new solar pest repellant stakes and I was able to observe a considerable difference. Chipmunks were becoming impossible to get rid of at my home and it felt like nothing was working let alone could save my pumkins. Fortunately, this new batch helped clear that issue up and I was able to save my lawn, pumpkins, and sanity. Thank you Livin' Well for reaching out and working to ensure only the best outcomes for your customers.

Looks they are doing the trick, only issue so far is some have developed moisture in between the plastic screen and solar cells. The moisture has not effected operation. Left 2 out over winter with cold and freezing temps, low sun light and they kept working all winter.

I have had to replace them annually and found that spacing them 10 ft apart gives best results. It takes 16 to 24 to clear my yard and have to start over each spring. It's not a permanent fix.
