We're super happy with this! It was very easy to install and teach our little one how to get his smaller seat down. Total game changer for potty training. Things we love: - Super easy to clean — and as anyone potty training a little boy knows, you are cleaning A LOT - Quiet/slow close, so the lid doesn't slam down and accidentally smash my little guy's fingers - Seat and lid are plastic and while they're not super thick, so far they've stood up to a 3.5 year old and my bull-in-a-China-shop husband, so can confirm this is well built and sturdy It's really everything we need it to be and we're very pleased with the purchase. My family has been using this for a month or two now and are overall pleased with it. That said there is a bit of a learning curve with this product. We went from a removable stair seat to this and my daughter had to train herself to sit in a different position otherwise the angle set it up to miss the toilet and aim for the gap under the seat. Which went down the front to the floor. She’s now adapted to the seat and it works as designed which is more convenient for the communal space I needed it to go. The second thing we all had to adjust to is the little seat has a learning curve to it as well. You have to pull up before you can pull down. This is the reason I deducted a star. I’m not a fan of having to touch toilet seats. I’d rather it be a fast use my shoe or a fast bump of something and it move to place on its own. This is not that kind of design. If you try to move it without the lift it catches and pulls the lid with it. If you try to force the two apart it sounds like it’ll break. So to put the seat down you have to manually touch the seat lift up till it moves freely from the lid. My solution has been to keep cleaning wipes by the toilet so I can use that and clean the toilet at the same time. The things I do like about the seat are: It was easy to install. It is easy to clean unlike the painted seat types I’ve had in the past. It can grow with our daughter. The piece is eventually removable completely. It’s a great seat. I do recommend it. However, it was not easy for our 3yr old to pull down on his own and the plastic attachment for the child seat portion broke after a month. The child seat hole size is very small as well and difficult for my boy to position himself just right to keep pee from spilling all over.
