I've been debating on picking up the Little Snowie for some time now, and finally decided to pull the trigger instead of buying a cheaper machine. Texture, not quite like snow, but very close. Maybe twice the thickness of snow, most other machines seem to be about 10x the thickness of snow. So while not quite as good as fresh snow, it's very close, and beats out any other machine that I've seen. This is probably every bit as good as the professional machines, but doesn't require the use of custom ice molds. Ease of Use: 5/5 Product Quality: 4/5 Cost: 4/5 Snow Quality: 4.5/5 Noise: 1/5 Overall I love the product and would highly recommend it if you're interested in doing snow cones or slushies. My favorite thing to do with it is grab a cup of ice, dump it in, grind the ice (red dixie cups work great, my other cups have smaller rims that don't quite fill up the space and result in ice spewing out a little). It's crazy fast and easy to use, within about 10 seconds it will grind my glass of ice into snow, then I pour my favorite Orange Juice brand into the snow, and I get a nice Orange Slushie (one of my favorite things). But it doesn't require any prep-work, just grind and go, I love it. Cleanup is a breeze, I basically just let it air dry. The snow quickly melts and drips off, then just let it dry it out on the counter, if you wanted to speed up the process simply wiping it down with a dry towel would do the trick. The only real downside to this machine is how loud it is. It is extremely loud, but only for a few seconds, then you're done. I don't find the noise to be a huge issue, but it would be nice if they could insulate the sound a little so it isn't quite so loud. That being said, I would highly recommend it, even at the seemingly expensive price. The ease of use and convenience make it worth the price for me. And while it is made primarily out of plastic, there is nothing that feels weak or like it would break anytime soon. I plan on getting regular use out of mine for a long time to come. If you're sitting on the fence, debating on getting this product or possible one of the less expensive products that sounds similar, then hopefully this review will help you decide on which way to go. I don't think you will regret picking up the little snowie, but you may regret picking up the cheaper competitor products once you see first hand how large the ice grinds are.

I recently ordered a Snowie 2 after careful consideration. I read several reviews indicating great company support of this shave ice unit, and was the primary consideration for my purchase. This is because I live overseas and returns via mail are expensive. Before I received the Snowie 2, Jared from Snowie LLC was inquiring about the machine and how I liked it. Proactive support by Snowie LLC. Upon receiving the Snowie 2, I inspected it and proceeded to try and make a shave ice. I could not as there was a technical difficulty with the motor. I left a message with Jared concerning the issue and he responded immediately and after explaining to him the problem. He immediately offered to send another machine at their expense. They were going to send a return label, but after understanding hardship of returning the unit back to the USA from Panama, they decided I would not have to return the defective machine. I cannot say enough on how great this technical support from Snowie LLC is. I’m very happy with their belief in the product, and the customer support. If you’re in the market for a light duty ice shaver from a great company specialized in producing commercial ice shavers. Then look no further. I certainly will not look anywhere else. I will post a further review on the actual performance of the Snowie 2, once I receive the replacement Snowie 2. After receiving the new machine and making a shave ice cone. I will give everything a 5 star review. Thanks Jared!!!👏👌!! The Snowie 2 produces a blizzard of finely shaved ice out of the chute. It made a cone as fast as any of our commercial machines. We have Echols microflake and Gold Medals finest Hawaiian ice Shaver. The ice quality was perfectly acceptable unless you wanted block shaved ice which can be fluffier, but takes longer. This little unit is perfect for the intended use, small parties. It’s fast, shaves ice cleanly and fast. The flavors were very good. My 5 star rating cover the machine quality, machine performance and especially the company support. Would I recommend buying one? Without a doubt!! Just remember it’s intended use and you have a machine that produces commercial quality shave ice at home. KUDOS to Snowie LLC!!!

We got this snow cone machine a couple of months ago, and it’s been a huge hit with our family! We’ve used it multiple times, and it continues to impress us with how quick and efficient it is. Each snow cone takes about 30 seconds to make using roughly a cup and a half of ice. We’ve tried it with both bagged ice from the grocery store and ice from our fridge, and it works great with both! The machine came with snow cone flavoring that tastes amazing—a perfect treat on a warm day. My kids (ages 5 to 11) love setting up their own little snow cone stand in front of our house, and it’s become a fun way to bring our neighbors together. Everyone loves it! One of the best features is how safe it is for kids to use on their own. It only runs when the lid is properly closed, and there’s no way for their fingers to get near the blades. It’s also super easy to clean—we just let it air dry, and it’s ready to go next time. If you’re looking for a fun and kid-friendly snow cone machine, this is definitely one I would recommend. It’s safe, easy to use, and brings a lot of joy to our home!

I have had my Little Snowie for 18 months. It's not heen stored away once since I opened the box. I use it every day. If there's ice in my glass, it's shaved ice from this beloved machine. It has so many great features. Fantastic design. The lid that pops up, stays ajar, allows air circulation, brilliant so not to let things grow in a damp environment. It dries itself out nicely. It is fully dismantleable for thorough cleaning or blade replacement. I don't know when the shave blade will need replaced though. A year and a half of daily use, and it's still perfect shaved ice. Using regular ice cubes is awesome. If it required a special ice mold, there's no way I would use it daily. The produced snow is consistently just that, snow. It's like having a pro shaved ice stand in my kitchen. Worth the investment. This Little Snowie Max is so much awesome. It's powerful. The build is top notch quality. It is loud but fast. The loudness is normal for a machine that rattles around ice. I purchased a 12x12 silicone dish drying mat for Little Snowie to sit upon. As any ice shaver machine will do, it's going to have some drainge. The mat works great, so it does not sit in its own puddle. Little Snowie, you rock! I love you very much 💜

This shaver works wonderfully! I had a long road to get to this shaver, so I've included my experience below for anyone who is as obsessive as I am about shaved ice. The short version is that this shaver isn't absolutely perfect but for home use it's the best option I've seen under $800. I don't think most people really need an ice shaver at home, but if you are going to get one then this is a good choice. I am completely satisfied with my decision to purchase it. Why this shaver: I originally purchased a large block ice shaver from another manufacturer. It looked like a large blue drill press that was slightly modified to shave ice. That machine arrived dirty and a swab test of the shaver plate tested positive for lead. I wanted something that was safer and that's what lead me to the Little Snowie 2. While the Little Snowie 2 is made in China, the build quality is excellent and (as far as I can tell) everything about it is food grade. Additionally, when I contacted the Snowie through their web site, they were very responsive and helpful. I had a lot of confidence buying their product. The ice quality: Cube shavers don't produce ice as fine as block shavers, but this comes pretty close. I emailed the company prior to purchasing and was told this (paraphrased): 'On a scale of 1 to 100, with 1 being the old crushed ice shavers and 100 being a block ice shaver, this is an 85.' I would say that is an accurate description. The vast majority of the ice this produces is powdery perfection, with a few little flakes mixed in. They aren't enough to take away from the quality of the snow ball. Product description: The shaver is about the size of a coffee pot and fits well on a counter. It is very well designed. I was initially concerned because it's smaller and lighter than I'd expect for the amount I paid, but my concerns vanished after I used it the first time. The build quality is excellent and the ice it produces is wonderful. The low size and weight are a good thing. It is quite loud from the ice bouncing around as it shaves, so I'd recommend ear plugs. Replacement blades are available and the manufacturer told me that the blade is good for about 1000 cones. Thoughts on use: It will take a little while to figure out how to make the best ice. In general, using ice cubes that are larger, rounder, and colder will give you a better product. I use bagged cubes and they work great. Syrups with more sugar produce a smoother product. If your syrup is too watery or too warm, it will melt and refreeze the snow. Once you get your technique down, you can start reducing the sugar content if desired. I can now use syrup that is more than 3 parts water to 1 part sugar and get good results. Find the right cup and spoon. If you use warm glass cups and metal spoons, the ice will melt on contact.

This is the most unbelievably amazing device I have ever had the pleasure of using! I had a Hawaiian ice machine that you have to freeze special plastic molds for (which take up tons of room in the freezer) and use Popeye muscles to shave the ice and empty the shards that are left and fill the molds back up and put them back in the freezer again...huge pain! The Snowie 2 takes ice cubes from the freezer and makes shaved ice in seconds! It’s absolutely amazing! I love it! I ordered it 3 times because it took weeks to get to me and they kept getting “lost”. When they eventually showed up they were Xmas snap bracelets (one Santa and one Reindeer)! After the weeks of chaos and after spending hundreds of dollars...Amazon refunded me all my money for the machines (but then sent me an email saying I had to return the extra Snowie 2 machines I got....which were bracelets!!). I ordered it for a Halloween party and my grandsons 2nd birthday....which were 2 weeks apart....and I didn’t hav3 any of the ice shavers for either event! But I’ve been using it every day because I love eating ice/snow and now that i have this brilliant machine, all the awfulness and work that went into getting it was worth it now! It’s a bit on the loud side...like every ice machine...but it doesn’t last long at all because it makes snow sooooo fast! This machine is worth every penny and you will kick yourself if you don’t get it!

Had purchased the following 4 years ago after an exhaustive review of ice cream machines. We've had various machines over the course of the past 25-30 years making these. Every one required freezing a round block of ice overnite, stick it in your machine, and either hand crank or later versions electric crank the blade against the ice block for ice shavings. We were never able to get really close to the Hawaiian or Italian ice versions we would buy at the amusement parks and fairs over the years. More like finely ground ice chips. After looking at all the reviews and other products out there, we bit the bullet and made the purchase of this unit. Very simple to use. Through practice, we figure an 18 ounce Go Cup full of ice cubes makes one decent sized snow cone using their cups. As far as noise, mess and cleanup. Yeah, it's loud, but so is being being behind a lawn mower for 2 hours, whereas you can make a snow cone in about 30 seconds. Very tolerable. Side note, whenever our cats see me remove the unit from the shelf, they hightail it out of the kitchen knowing what's coming. Whatever cubes didn't make the cut, we simply dump whatever remains into the sink and let the unit sit on a counter protector for an hour or two to allow whatever ice remains to melt and drain. Then, dry off the unit and put it up. Easy peasy. We also purchased the Ultimate Shaved Party Pack as this included 12 mixing bottles, 8 cups, 8 spoons and a 12 pack of flavors. Cons as follows: One of the cups had a hairline crack on the bottom. Didn't notice until we made a snow cone and it started dripping Tigers Blood all over our cloth place-mat. Needless to say ruined as the stain will never come out. One of the mixing bottles has a slight crack close to the top of the neck. In other words, when you shake your mixture, it will come out of the crack. The pour spouts are really poor spouts. Not impressed with the design and utility of them. This would have gone down much better with a screw on spout and a sealing cap that snaps shut. I use a cap from an old lemon juice bottle, screw it on and shake the toot out of it. Then put their pour spout back on to dispense. Helpful hint. Their pint bottles call for 1 cup of sugar for a single mix. Whoa Nelly. That's a lot of sugar. We decided early on to only use 1/2 cup of sugar, along with 12 packets of Stevia (which equates to another 1/2 cup of sugar). There are other artificial sugar options as well. The taste of it doing so has been really nice. We keeping pouring until all the snow has been consumed by the flavoring, so we get a true Hawaiian/Italian ice taste. We enjoyed this so much that we went ahead and purchased 10 six packs of their Natural Flavor powders in flavors that we find the most enjoyable. Hope this lasts as many years as our ice cream machine. Went ahead and purchased a 4 years warranty just in case, but it's basically just Ma and Pa making and consuming these, so use is limited to perhaps a couple a day.

At our local farmers market we have a Snowie vendor -- and my daughter has become obsesses. At four bucks a pop, times three people, over both weekend days we were easily spending close to $100 in a month. I received an Amazon giftcard from work and was wondering what I was going to use it for. Then it hit me -- shaved ice machine! I did a LOT of research, and I knew I wanted a good machine to make shaved ice vs. the snow cones and granulated 'shaved ice' makes you see out there. I ended up pulling the trigger on the Little Snowie 2 and honestly -- one of the best purchases I have made recently. It's insanely easy to use. You put ice cubes (normal type, whatever you have on hand) in the hopper, press down the lid, and it expertly throws out the most perfect shaved ice. We. Are. Obsessed. I know this is an absurd amount of money to spend on a shaved ice machine -- but hear me out, it's truly worth it. Now that temperatures are rising we use this daily. You get to have the hot weather treat of a snow cone out of the comfort of your own home and can customize it however you want. Boozy shaved ice? Yup. Fun options for kid? Yup. Halo-halo? Yup. Whatever you want to do with it, you're free to be as creative as you want. Also I've been purchasing the flavor syrups from Snowie and they have powder packets that are a DEAL. I feel like my review has turned into more of a sales pitch than anything but only because this thing is AWESOME. It's fast, easy to use, and easy to clean. And the quality of shaved ice is wonderful. When my daughter steps foot in the house after coming home from daycare she immediately yells "mama, Ice please!". It's our afternoon treat together as a family. Get this. I promise you'll love it.
