  • Great ladder!
Size: 26 Ft. Style: Standard with Ratchet Levelers Pattern Name: No Accessory
I bought this ladder with one project in mind, but it has already made two others much safer and easier to perform as well. The first, we hung a 65” TV on an open stairway wall that was totally unreachable before. The bottom of the stairs turns through a door with a wall about three feet from the bottom stair, placing the foot of the ladder against this wall then scoping the ladder out and extending both sides to the last adjustments was just long enough for the top of the ladder to be spotted one step down from the top to prevent slipping. I was able to easily mount the TV bracket to the wall standing on the horizontal rungs. When it came time to mount the TV to the bracket it was too damn big to do by myself, so with a friends help we carried it out to position, a bit scary trusting a ladder with approx. 450 lbs. probably more than the recommended max weight, but what are you going to do? However the ladder didn’t even squeak we hung the TV and all is well. The 2nd job outside the house is very uneven terrain with no landscaping done yet a normal ladder rocks and tilts when accessing the roof. This ladder has the neat little kick stands that stabilize it making it much safer. The 3rd is the height and stability it has in the step ladder mode, our shop has 11’ drop ceiling and doing electrical and plumbing work up there in the past was sketchy at best having to stand on the top rung of a normal 8’ step ladder, not the best practice, but again what are you going to do? This ladder when extended out nearly scrapes the ceiling and with the extra wide base it is very stable when working at heights. I have seen some comments complaining about the weight, but to me that seems a bit ridiculous. If you don’t need the height, strength, or stability this ladder offers then use a regular ladder. They all have their uses this is not the ladder for a quick grab something off the top shelf and put it away kind of deal, it’s for those tough scary jobs that a regular ladder just can’t perform. Don’t get me wrong it is heavy, it was like wrestling a dead bear to get it into that tight stairwell and then set up, but once it is set up, there is nothing safer, stronger and more secure. All in all a great buy 5 stars for sure. Update 10/23/19 nearly three years later and I still love this ladder! ... show more

  • Excellent Ladder - Well Built - Made in USA
I bought this ladder on the recommendation from a friend and also the due to the ratcheting legs feature. After reviewing their instructional videos I decided to take the plunge. The ladder arrived in perfect condition and I put it to use immediate. I don't like being high up on a ladder and my first task was to check the gutters and skylight that were 18 feet off the ground. I followed the instructions on their videos to "walk" the ladder up and against the house and I had not problems at all. The ladder is solidly built and for its size I never considered it unwieldy (which was my concern) or to heavy to life. The key is knowing how to use it and Little Giant has done a great job in providing simple and clear instructions on how to use the product correctly. The next task was some tree pruning about 20' off the ground. The ladder was fully extended. I walked to ladder up against some trees and on some very uneven ground. I used the ratcheting feel and voila I had a nice stable setup. I'm impressed. When I was done i simply returned it to its compact form and wheeled it across the lawn with the built-in wheels. If you are interested in any of these ladders, please get the right ladder for what you need. I was going to get the smaller ladder but learned on their web-site that the bigger one would actually be what I needed. Also note that some of their ladders are made in China. This particular ladder is made in the USA, so that is a big plus to me as I'm trying to support stuff that's made here. Of course, it's going to cost you a little more, but I'd rather spend more to support families here in the US. ... show more

  • Best You Can Buy
Little Giant makes great ladders and this is a GREAT little Giant ladder. The versatility, capacity and really, really tough construction are world class. The rocking release levers are a nice improvement over earlier designs and the leg levelers are not only extremely handy but very likely to save some lives and prevent some serious injuries. A few posters have commented about the weight. Even with aluminum, stronger means heavier, but one should always ask, "Compared to what?" No one who has handled wooden ladders of similar size and capacity will complain about this ladder. And no wooden ladders can do what this one can do. Safe and efficient ladder handling requires development of appropriate techniques and practices (and handling any long extension ladder safely requires two people). Get those techniques and practices established and this ladder won't feel heavy at all. Little Giant ladders aren't expensive consumer purchases, they're smart investments. ... show more

  • Expensive but Sturdy
This ladder is a life saver ladder for me. I recently had a metal building built on my property and the garage door itself is 14 foot tall with the joists being at 16 foot high. That doesn't sound to high, but believe me, it is high doing work off of a ladder. I bought this ladder mainly for this type of work. It makes a great step ladder and goes pretty tall, but in extension ladder mode, it is very nice. I set it to about 18 - 20 foot (not full length) and is fairly stable climbing the ladder. Yes, it does have some movement to it while climbing, but much less than a regular extension ladder. Only thing is that it is more difficult to handle than an extension ladder. You can't have it standing up and extend this ladder or you would easily get hurt trying. I have to lay it down, extend it and then lift up to place ladder which is somewhat difficult since it is heavy and not balanced while walking ladder up unless you place the bottom against something (instructions recommend this) and walk it up to position. If you are too tall or not tall enough, you have to lay it back down and adjust again. Yes, that is a little bit of a pain, but worth that pain with the use of this ladder and feeling safe while working at large heights with it. It is heavy, but not overly heavy that is isn't worth using. I really like the step ladder mode with one side at the angle and the other straight up and down against a wall or something. That is an awesome feature. This ladder is very expensive for a ladder but that expense is worth it by being safer and the strength to make you secure while working on it. I gave it a four because of how to handle the ladder to use it, but that is the nature of the beast, so I gave it a strong four. ... show more

  • Best Ladders Made.
Size: 26 Ft. Style: Standard with Ratchet Levelers Pattern Name: No Accessory
Wow ! What a Superior ladder. I got the 26 foot ladder. Yes it still fits through a regular doorway. And I don't find it too heavy like others. And I've had a tripple fusion in my back. 26 foot extension ladder yet easily fits in my Honda Pilot ! Superior design and ease of use. Wanted one if these ladders for 20 years. Bought the step accessory. It's very solid. Can't say enough good. For being age of 56 I wanted the best ladder. This is it. Don't hesitate to buy like I did. Now if all you are doing is tree trimming and removal this is not the "perfect" ladder. To make this ladder tall you have to lay it on the ground and expand it. Then its sometimes hard to stand up without hitting tree limbs. Regular extension ladders use a rope to raise the ladder. In this particular case of tree trimming, if that's all you do or do for a living you want a regular extension ladder. However my son and I trimmed a huge tree and while a little cumberson the many options of the "Little Giant Ladder" are used and worthwhile. This is a Wonderful ladder. Worth the upgrade with the two leveling legs. ... show more

  • This ladder is great, it's expensive but I'm glad I got it
This ladder is great, it's expensive but I'm glad I got it, especially with the ratchet legs. I'm a carpenter and I use it all the time. With just one ladder you can do almost anything which makes it really useful to have around instead of 4 different ladders. Not only that. But it can do things no other ladder can. I use the ratchet legs all the time which make the job much faster and much safer when working on uneven ground or stairs. The ability to extend one part of the ladder longer than the other is also really cool for stairs or hills or when you need to get close to something but can't lean the ladder up against it. It slipped 12 feet off a roof while it was in the A frame position and it landed on its side putting all of the force onto the hinges with no damage becides a small dent. This ladder really makes my job easier and it's built solid so I know it will for many years to come. ... show more

  • Heavy, but versatile and very stable.
Size: 26 Ft. Style: Standard with Ratchet Levelers Pattern Name: No Accessory
I used this ladder for painting the interior of a house, more specifically on stairways and several hard to reach areas at the homes entrance. While heavy to move about, once the unit is set up it was remarkably stable and effective to use. Be aware that smaller or older people may require two people to properly position the unit on stairs. Holding the unit in place on the upper stair, while extending one side of the ladder to the lower stair, is an awkward process. I rated it highly because despite its weight, and compared to the alternatives, once set up I felt safe and secure. ... show more

  • 2 ladders for the price of one (or is it 10 ladders)
Size: 26 Ft. Style: Standard with Ratchet Levelers Pattern Name: No Accessory
I just finished cleaning my gutters and setting up for Christmas and the ladder was perfect. I can reach the second story gutters well. The fully extended ladder reached the roofline with 1-2 feet to spare (depending on angle). The adjustable leg took care of the uneven ground I was working from very easily. I then moved to the lower gutters at the front of the house. I split the ladder into two with the end pieces making a fixed A-frame. The middle hinged-part acted as an A-frame or straight ladder depending on the need. Lights went up super easy and the ladder collapsed back to fit inside my shed. Dislike Most ladders of this length have a bit of a bounce. This felt a little more pronounced than a traditional stick ladder. Summary This is a two person ladder that can handle one story and two story houses and still fit in a 7 ft tall shed. Winning! ... show more
