I know the measurements are available in the photos, and I know I compared them and didn’t find others to be much bigger, but overall I wish EVERYTHING about this were larger. Taller, the compartments larger. I knew the lower half of my litter box would fit from the measurements, but didn’t think about the sides being too high to be able to use it, so once together I still couldn’t use it for a litter box until a new low sided one I had to order came in. But of course that means less litter in the box. The lower compartment just needs to be taller so my cat can step over the edges and not have to crouch while using it. The other compartment also is too small for my cat to even fit in comfortably. I use it for his food (cut out photo from a calendar was taped in to keep my big dog out of it 😆), but his body only fits about halfway in while he eats (bowl at far corner). And my cat is midsize to smaller compared to many adult cats! Again, I don’t feel like there were many other options that were larger. Companies need to test their items with actual pets. That is all. Otherwise it’s beautiful and wasn’t too horribly complicated to put together alone. ... show more

I just assembled the shelf and the cats haven't had a chance to fully investigate it yet. But it looks fantastic. It took me about 90 minutes from unboxing to setting up and the directions were extremely clear. It's super sturdy. I like the locking door feature especially!

The "litter box" isn't big enough for anything but the smallest kitten. So my cats don't use it. And they prefer the bookcase near the window for climbing in. Maybe that's just them, so I don't fault the furniture for that. It's sturdy and the outlet has been super handy to have. It lights a dark corner of the room. But we're currently using the "litter box" as storage. Might be better a better piece without the weird hole. ... show more

It's a bit spendy for what it is but my dog is a trash goblin who will eat anything she can get ahold of, kitty roca being a snacking delicacy, so I needed a functional way to keep her out of the litter box. I have a teeny tiny apartment and couldn't stomach the idea of putting the litter box in the bathroom since our polydactyl cat seems to get litter in every crevice of his 24 toes and thus as a result, the rest of the house. This just happened to be the perfect measurements to fit in a small open corner of the room and doubles as a shelving unit which is great as I need all the storage space I can get. I chose the white because I already have enough mismatched wood grain colors going on but the gold accents also didn't match anything in my apartment so I spray painted them black as well as the cupboard knobs. I assembled it alone in a leisurely hour and a half, the instructions are super clear and well written. They even cheer you on as you progress which I thought was a really cute touch. everything came together nicely, no misaligned holes or struggling to make things line up. It also comes with everything you need to assemble including a little screwdriver, no drills needed. ... show more

I was able to put this together by myself in a few hours (even without power tools, though I did need a power drill for at least a few screws at the end). It looks like it does in the photos. The hooks that they provide fall right off the bars, though, so don't bother with them
