Okay, so 5 stars with some caveats to keep in mind. This is not a premium tool, you get what you pay for, but for the price point it's perfect. This is a piece of edge-lit acrylic. Same tech as those glowing "Emergency Exit" signs you always see. It is USB-powered, but bear in mind it's micro-USB (no type-C). This is a big reason they can keep the price down. It comes with its own cable, and conveniently has an L-shaped plug. The panel is very light and thin, not even 1/4" thick, and has multiple brightness settings. The brightest setting is very bright, but doesn't strain the eye (in my case, at least). The black borders are seemingly UV-printed on. They might not be perfectly-aligned, but it's not egregious. Again, price point. It has small rubber feet on the bottom side to keep it from sliding. This is nice if you draw on a raised or slanted work surface. If you tend to lean hard onto your work, maybe add two more rubber feet in the center so as not to bow the work surface (acrylic is flexible, unlike glass). There is also a ruler printed on the top side of the panel. Not super-useful for me, but it's a nice touch and doesn't get in the way. Overall, highly recommend this panel. I bought this light board for drawing and craft projects, and I found it very useful. The lighting is uniform on the entire surface, which makes it easier to trace designs, work with templates or perform detailed work. I liked that it includes a ruler printed on the edges, something practical to measure while I work. This light pad works great for tracing and art projects! It’s slim, lightweight, and the brightness is adjustable. I was impressed that the light even shows through very thick multimedia paper with no problem. The only downside is that it doesn’t hold a charge, it has to stay plugged in while you use it.     • Useful, portable, affordable light box - I should have bought years ago.

Amazingly useful light box (really more of a light tablet). I purchased this to transfer drawings from paper photocopies to card stock or construction paper. I then use the heavy card stock as patterns for cutting out clay slabs, or for cutting out fabric for crafts. It works perfectly for that, ideally with white card stock that allows the light to shine through. Previously, I had been doing this either by holding the image and card stock up to a big window (very awkward), or by using tracing paper - which is tedious to cut out and does not hold up well to wet clay! So this device is a big upgrade at a very affordable price. Since it is so convenient, I use it for random office tasks too, like overlaying multiple sheets of text to fit on 8.5 x 11" paper. The ruler markings on two sides of the light box are handy for this. There are 2 brightness settings, but I prefer the most light for drawing & tracing. The on/off button is a touch area rather than an actual button, and I have found it easy to use with a light touch. It seems well made and solid enough on a table. I recommend being careful with the tiny port for the charging cable, since usually those tiny ones are fragile. The light box is very light weight and portable. I will need to be more careful with the light box than my usual habits since it is such a light plastic - no leaving it out on the sofa. I probably wouldn't throw it in a backpack either without something like heavy cardboard or poster board to surround it and prevent bending or cracking. No USB charger is included but it works fine with all of the USB chargers I already have. I keep my light box and cable in a neoprene 16" laptop case that just happens to fit it, and keeps the box protected from scratches, dust, and my adorable but pesky cat that loves to chew on plastic. If some feline "accident" befalls this light box, I will definitely purchase it again. ... show more

Came on time. Brightness levels are very useful. USB cord is short and no battery, but I just use my charger box with a drop cord. Works good. Wish it had a storage case for it. Very light weight, easy to shift directions. Would recommend this.

I'm using it to trace onto 140# watercolor paper and have no issues due to the thickness of the paper. I didn't realize it needs to replugged into an outlet.
