My son was wanting a boxed art set. We had used this brand's markers at an event, and were familiar with the quality, so I had purchased those for him previously. The quality and brand helped us choose this boxed set over others, both higher and lower end; he is an intense boy, so I dont know about its long term longevity, but I've been pleasantly surprised thus far with how it has held up, though he has tried to be gentle. It seems to be better than the boxes from other brands based on user reviews for those products. It has a great variety, and as soon as the package is opened, can be put to use with the added pads. A few items seem to be included only to raise up the item count, but I recognized that early on before purchase. It also was a perk for us that it did not include markers since he had those. That being said, if you look closely, you get two sets of identical crayons (the picture just shows them mirror imaged). Mea culpa that I didn't notice that earlier, though I honestly would've still most likely purchased it. Perhaps it would be an even better offer for most had it included only one set of crayons, and some markers?? Toss up because in the end they aren't Crayola, and the budding artist can't just get a replacement color when his crayon runs out. ;) I do highly recommend their markers as well. ... show more
