I am a beginner, so maybe this is how all macrame yarn is, but this is terrible. It came out of the skein unraveling and gets worse as you use it. I’ll tried being gentle, I’ve tried tape, nothing works. Every video I’ve watched shows the yarn still intact. I didn’t buy through Amazon, I went to my local craft store. For that reason, I am not finding enough reviews so I hope to help someone else out, but something else! ... show more

I used this to test a few crochet projects for a designer. They turned out super cute, and I would do them again. However, it's not very tightly wound (is that the word?) so it can be a little splitty on the crochet hook. I don't know if actual macrame projects would work better. The yarn IS soft and pliable otherwise, and seems very durable. I used it to make a little plant holder that is hung on my wall. It's held up quite well. ... show more

The picture makes the yarn look white. Not bright, glaring white, but the kind of white you see in a more natural color of white. That's what I was wanting for my project. In person, the yarn is dark beige. A less bright white would have been fine, but it's just far too dark for the project I had in mind. It's also rougher than I expected and more prone to splitting. I have used it before and although the yarn has a tendency to split it makes great pot holders and plant cozies due to its thickness. I would give it a try
