It is soft all around and the top/lid is cushioned. It’s a little shorter than I thought it would be but I like it! It is true to color, the blush pink is really pretty. I store miscellaneous items for quick access for now so I don’t move it around as much. Our dog approves as he lays across it often, lol! It is foldable so if you need to move it around I suggest something more sturdy. I do intend to purchase 2 more so yes I recommend.

When I took them out of the box, I didn’t see the flat piece that went on the bottom. I finally saw it and it makes them very sturdy. I bought two, one for my feet and one for the craft overload. There’s plastic on the bottom, because my dog pees on everything. Which was also very easy to put on because of the lid. Very happy with my purchase!

I love this folding foot stool. I ordered 2 originally and they came in a box. In excellent condition! I decided I needed one more so I ordered it. It came not in a box but in the plastic mailing envelope. It was tight. After its trip thru the warehouse and then on the truck all day long it got pushed around and scraped up on one of the corners of the packaging to where the plastic was torn off and even thru the plastic wrapping of the foot stool itself. There is a small blemish but it is not the manufactures issue. I love this stool and have determined I can live with the small blemish and it is not worth the return. This is just for buyer beware. I am using this foot stool in my camper for storage of towels and paper products. It is the perfect size. I have 6 rolled up bath towels and 2 hand towels with room for another hand towel and 2-3 wash cloths in the one that is open. The other one has 6 folded up beach towels. They are larger and thicker than the bath towels. In this 3rd one will put extra toilet paper and paper towels/napkins which can sit behind the others and the blemish will never be seen and only I know it is there and well now you know too. As for sturdiness for someone sitting on it like in one of the pictures in the add, I dont know because I have not tried it myself. I never did find a weight rating on it. Bottom line, I feel this stool with perfect for what I am using it for. Definitely super easy to assemble, and I believe worth the money and sturdy enough for my storage use. My cats (one is 7#'s the other is 9#'s) may use it as a bed :-) does that count for sturdiness? LOL

This holds together well! Kids have even climbed in and out of it. Nice has sat inside it while watching TV. And still stays together very well. Is well built and sturdy.
