  • This thing is amazing!
Color: Red
We have a 9ft pre lit tree. Last year we ignored a out strand of lights, this year when we plugged it in at least 1/3 of the lights were out. I read the directions and started pulling bulbs and pulling the trigger. Within 30 minutes my entire tree is glowing. Interesting thing I found, when you’re pulling the trigger and the strand isn’t coming back on, watch the whole strand. The bulbs that need to be replaced flicker just enough to be recognized and fixed. I read reviews about getting the lights out hurts your fingers. On the top of the gun is a bulb remover. Just flip the gun over and slide the bulb in and pull. Super easy. ... show more

  • It Works. So Grateful!
Color: Red
Top notch. Works, great quality and again, it works! Initially I set up tree to check out condition. A section would not light. Sent out family text to ask for help. My son responded and told me to purchase this product. Received it and set it up and initially found three burnt bulbs out of the bunch that were burnt out. Replaced all three and yes, lights were back on. Yet over the course of a few hours, replaced several! It’s as if they all starting burning out and replaced as I found new spent bulb. Then, after many replaced, it leveled out and all lights were stable. So happy and satisfied with this purchase. It saved me the cost of a new tree. Which I didn’t need nor did I want. Also purchased extra bulbs. Glad I did. While they come with the tool, I needed many more than that. So don’t be surprised if after initial bulbs replaced, more start to go. Grateful is the word. I like my tree and very happy I can set it up again this year! ... show more

  • The lights work now!
Color: Red
I've been fascinated seeing this advertised for years. I have a prelit tree with the bottom strand out for years. This year I thought I'd try fixing it. I ordered the device at 4:15 and it arrived at 8:15. It took me a while and a you tube video to work it out. I didn't realize until much later there are better instructions folded within the cardboard backing. I pulled a bulb, plugged the socket in the "gun" and pulled the trigger repeatedly. Much to my amazement the string lit up, though rather weakly. Cool, fixed, I thought. Pulled off the "gun", plugged in the bulb and nothing. I never again got the string to light up for the trigger. That's when I watched the video. You have to figure out which blub is bad while the gun has it lit up. This is basically impossible on a prelit tree. On the video there's a string of lights on a table. I played with the blub testing feature, swapped out one blub, lights still out. The voltage detector saved the day. I found the beginning of the bad string, luckily it was at the bottom of the tree, and I could sort of follow it starting where it plugged into the tree. The "gun" beeps as long as there is voltage going through the wires. That narrowed it down to just a couple of lights to pull and test. Voila, I had lights. Four stars because it is not quite as magical as advertised, but still pretty great. ... show more

  • Save your money!
Color: Red
I saw the commercial, I watched the You-Tube Videos, I thought AWSOME! So I bought it looking forward to all the benefits it claims. However, I can sum this product up in one word: USELESS! The first thing you need to know is that it will NOT work with light sets that have a programming box for multiple blinking options. --why did I have to buy it to find that out? It's only mentioned buried in the instructional tri-fold. The primary reason I bought the thing is to repair the programmable $18.00-$24.00 light sets, who cares about the standard 150 light sets that can be had for $3.99 in any dollar store? But guess what? It DOES NOT WORK on those either! Yes, I followed the instructions; I read, and reread, them; I watched several videos, I wasted about 7 hours and $18.00. They claim that the number one cause of failure is a bad shunt, and the click method is supposed to fix that most of the time. Well, apparently none of the 6 strings I used it on had this problem, or the click to fix dealie don't work--take your pick, I still can't figure it out. Then I used the sound troubleshooting method. First, it's very inconsistent as on one pass, it stops beeping, on the next pass over the same spot it beeps--and yes, again, I was following the instructions by the numbers, So when I think this is probably the problem bulb, I pull it and test it, the bulb was fine. Using a magnifier and adequate light, I confirmed the socket was just fine. So it told me nothing. Finally, I reverted to the old fashioned way-- replacing each bulb one at a time. Meanwhile, I kept using he light keeper as I went, hoping to see how it acted when the actual problem was manually found. And guess what, it falsely indicated no problem at the bad bulb! (The tester was beeping away, indicating no-problem there!) So, finally I found the bad bulb and fixed it, but no thanks to the Light Keeper Pro. The only reason I kept working on that cheap set for almost an hour was a dogged determination to figure out what I was doing wrong. I mean it worked in all the company and user videos, so it musta' been me right? Pig-headed, never say-die, guy that I am, and again, just in case I'm missing something, I went to work on another set with one of three sections out. Same process same result! Then on a another set that I couldn't fix at all. Bottom line, either mine is defective, or the product only works for a very specific malfunction which, apparently, none of my 6 malfunctioning sets had. If I hadn't seen their commercial, I would have just tossed the errant sets and bought new. What bothers me most isn't the money spent--I'll get that back--It's the time completely wasted watching Videos, reading instructions, and trying to figure what I must have been doing wrong! I have no doubt that I had nothing to do with this gimmicks failure to produce the results promised. Save your money, and more importantly save your time and aggravation! ... show more

  • Did not find it effective
Color: Red
Giving it 3 stars instead of 1 because it’s possible I am just too big an idiot to figure this thing out and the company really does seem to take a lot of pride in this product. Here’s my experience: I spent several hours trying to figure this out and never could. I very, very much wanted it to work. I watched and rewatched videos, tried different strands of lights, and employed the scientific method to the best of my ability to figure out how to get it to work consistently and also fix my lights and I couldn’t do it. Ultimately, I determined it was probably more economical to just replace the strand of lights once a certain percentage went out. I will tell you this though, the company has really tried to make this easy to understand and put out some videos that make it seem like it is super simple, but as I’ve said, even following along step by step with the video many times I couldn’t get the same results. ... show more
