  • Fantastic! Worth every penny!
This "airplane teeter totter" is one of the best outdoor play toys for children that I have ever seen. It is well built (though takes awhile to construct). I have to be honest, I finally hired a handy man to put it together - it was beyond me. But it only took him about 6 hours. So far kids ages 4-7 have played on it and LOVE it. There is room for everyone and something fun for them all to do, even if just riding as a passenger. They have a lot of fun switching roles and deciding who will be "pilot." The propellor is connected to the steering wheel, so kids control it, a genius idea! We were hesitant because of the cost, but have no regrets. It's small enough to fit in our little backyard without looking gawdy. So far, has weathered well (4 months). LOVE, love, love it! Highly recommend. ... show more

  • It really is cool...
Edit: 4 years later, still going strong, still no injuries (not even a busted lip or bloodied nose!). Still played on daily. This is probably the best toy investment we've ever made. This thing is probably going to last for another 4 or 5 years. There's a whole new crop of children enjoying it now. I really couldn't be happier with it. -------- Edit, Three Years Later: So, we've had it for three years now. It STILL WORKS, and we just gave it to our next door neighbors who have 2 year old twins and a couple of older kids. At this moment, there are 8 kids playing on it (my younger kid, who is 6 now, the next door neighbor kids who are 2-8 years old, and some other neighborhood kids.) Older kids (9-13) lost interest fairly quickly. Since I bought it, the propeller fell off, and we've had to make a few other minor repairs. But it's not majorly rusted, and it still works fine! NOBODY ever got hurt on it! Not even a busted lip or bruised chin! We gave it away only because we decided to landscape our front yard with flowers, and our backyard doesn't get played in much. Original review below: ------------ We have lots of kids in our neighborhood, and kids ages 2 to 10 play on this thing every day (we also put it in the front yard so neighbor kids could play on it whenever they want to - legal liabilities be damned.). My almost 8 year old son and his 10 year old best friend aren't too big to find see-sawing on the "wings" un-thrilling (although they SLAM each other up and down to make it extra exciting. Haha. They also use it as a sort of obstacle course.) and my three year old daughter is big enough to seesaw on the big wings with the 5 year old girl who lives next door. It took my husband and I about 3 hours to put it together, but part of our problem was that we'd start trying to guess how to do it instead of closely following the directions, so we'd have to take stuff apart and re-do it. I HIGHLY suggest using an electric drill when you put it together. We've had it for a few weeks now, and still no injuries yet...not even minor ones. ... show more

  • Hit of the Birthday party!
This is an amazing outdoor activity for kids ages 2 through 10! It competed with a real pony at my grand-daughter's 4th birthday party and was very popular! It was difficult for my husband to put together, but well worth the time. Needed a more durable wrench other than what came with product. Highly recommend this "teeter-totter plane" for your kids! ... show more

  • The perfect outdoor toy!! High quality and durable!!! My kids love it!
This airplane is awesome!!! I have 3 boys and I was looking for an outdoor toy they can be rough on that can take it and this is it! I would say this is park playground quality and compared to other high quality outdoor toys like swing sets and jungle gyms it's pretty cheap. My husband and our 8 year old put it together in about 2 1/2 hours. This needs to be on level ground or as close as you can get it. We've had lots of kids playing on this at one time and it takes the weight perfectly. The propeller and the steering wheel and seats are made of plastic but it's NOT the cheap plastic you see on a lot of kids toys these days. I've had kids 2-13 playing on this and the 13 year old was a little big for th 2 plane seats inside the plane but she could could fit easily on the other 5 seats. It's comes in a very heavy box which is probably obvious but when mine was delivered I have a heck of a time moving it. I needed a dolly. My only negative comment would be the box was ripped open when it arrived and the delivery guy said he noted it in his system in case any of the pieces were missing (a few of the metal pieces were actually sticking about an inch out of the box) but there was no damage to any of the pieces and nothing was missing so it all worked out. We love love love this airplane and I would recommend it to everyone!! ... show more

  • Worth it!
Fun for my toddler grandkids, and I can raise the height a couple times as they get bigger. It took me about 8 hours to put together by myself without a drill using props at times (I'm patting myself on the back). I started in the garage and then when the pieces were getting too heavy and too big to go thru a gate I finished in the back yard. I did need someone to help me move it to where I wanted it, which was easy. I saw it offered thru Sams Club and then found it was on sale at Amazon for the same price. Getting the 5% cash back using the Amazon Prime VISA made it a no-brainer. ... show more

  • Fun, high quality, work in parallel for faster assembly!
Potential Fun: 5 stars (still too early to tell) Quality: 5 stars Parts: 3 stars Assembly: 4 stars We have an average sized 2 year old and an average sized 4 year old. I'm glad we put it on the lowest setting as it's perfect for the 4 year old. This toy is for ages 3-10; the 2 year old doesn't really get it and just likes to spin the propeller that he can barely reach and doesn't like it moving. But the 4 year old loves it and my legs are sore from teeter tottering with her on such a short teeter totter. But I'm confident we'll get several years out of this and the kids will grow into being able to both play with it. We're testing it out at the kids' birthday party next week, so we'll see how a larger number of kids play with it! Overall, it seems very sturdy and I believe it will stand the test of time. There are no spare parts! So when 2 of the plastic pieces came broken, we had to figure out where we could do without them. We're also lucky we didn't lose anything in the tan bark during assembly. Also, one of the metal pieces came all scraped up on one side. It's not obvious now that it's assembled. If it rusts after some rain, we will need to send it back. If it's just cosmetic, we will just keep it as is. I thought assembly would be terrible based on the reviews, but it wasn't so bad. My husband and I followed the advice of other reviewers and completed assembly in 3 1/2 hours by having me work ahead to build sub-assemblies or working in parallel when we could so nobody was ever sitting idle. Here are our tips: As others have said, don't tighten things until it says so in the instructions (it will be written with text; where it clearly doesn't want you to tighten, there's a hand symbol and where it's ok to tighten, it shows you the Allen wrench) Here's our order of operations, assuming that Person #1 is stronger and Person #2 is capable of putting together sub assemblies: --> Part 1: Person #1 builds front of frame while Person #2 builds back of frame, both put it together. When Person #1 tightens all the screws, Person #2 starts to build the blue frames. --> Part 2: while Person #1 puts the screws into the blue frames, Person #2 can start building wing sub assemblies from Part 3. Each person can attach a separate chair at the same time. When Person #1 tightens the chairs, Person #2 can attach the front bar and chain. *****Tricky Part***** When it's time to put the fuselage onto the base, it's tricky to get the bolts into the holes. We used the teeter totter motion and tilted the plane to be able to apply pressure in a particular direction, which helps to get it in. 2 people are definitely required to use this approach. Part 3: When Person #1 is tightening the screws that attach the fuselage to the base, Person #2 can finish building the wings. Both people are needed to attach the wings. When Person #1 is tightening the screws, Person #2 can set up the screws attaching the wings to the wing supports and get started on the tail flaps. --> Part 4: When Person #1 tightens the screws on the tail flaps (takes a while since bars block the wrench from spinning all the way around), Person #2 can build the cockpit/propeller sub assembly (instructions say to attach the cockpit before assembly, but it works fine to do it out of order). Work together to attach it and tighten the screws. You're done! ... show more

  • The coolest! The coolest!
This thing is so cool! I have wanted it for a long time for my kids, and I finally went ahead and ordered. It seems very sturdy and durable. The instructions were very thorough. I put this together by myself in about 2.5 hours, and about an hour of that was in the dark while it snowed 😂. That time includes laying out all parts in the grass. The only part that confused me was about having the dimpled holes facing out. I didn’t see any dimples. Both sides looked the same. It didn’t seem to make any difference either way though. 🤷🏻♀️ As others have mentioned, DO NOT TIGHTEN BOLTS until the instructions say to do so. There will be bolts that you have to remove to add the wings. The instructions are great though and are very clear about finger-tightening only. ... show more

  • Fun toy for the kids. Not fun assembling it.
Like others have noted, this is very popular with the kids, even more popular that most playsets. We bought it so that our yard would have something different for our kids and their friends to play in that wasn't another trampoline or playset, which everyone else has already. I'm giving the product a 5 stars based on how fun it is after assembly. The assembly is pretty hard. Here are some pointers that you absolutely must follow (which we didn't, and this caused it to take about twice as long as it would have if we had followed them) 1. Do not use power tools. They will most definitely strip the head of the bolts, which happened in our case. I knew I was not supposed to used power tools and thought I would anyway. Stripped a few bolts and had to spend time to remove them. This brings me to the next point 2. Do not tighten all the bolts. Leave all of them loose till assembly is complete. Some of the bolts need to be removed and re attached. Again, something we did wrong which cost us time as the bolts to be removed were stripped. 3. The toy must be placed on a soft surface, such as a lawn. However, in just one day of use, the spots below the two wings became into holes in my lawn. Keep that in mind. Your lawn will get destroyed to some degree or the other. We ended up moving the plane to the far back of our yard where I don't care for a few bumps and holes. 4. Friends reccomend supergluing the plastic caps on several pieces to prevent them from being removed accidentally during moving the toy. 5. Assembly involves driving screws through holes in metal pipes that must be perfectly aligned. This was much harder than assembling a TV stand, or a crib, where you are screwing wooden components together. Greater torque is needed and you risk getting the screw stuck if it is not aligned perfectly. ... show more
