This is a 8 peice set for 2 people. It comes with two plates, a salad plate type bowl for each and two bowls. They are nice and thick and the colors are really pretty. They come well packaged too. I love how the plates have a lip around the whole way, so for stuff with sauce etc it won't ooze off the plate. The size of each are good portions too. I especially love the salad plate type bowls. They are a larger bowl . I am a little disappointed, because as I was washing them when I got them out the box to put them away, my one plate chipped. I had nothing else in the sink but them too. It wasn't a large chip, just a small chip off the paint on the top rim of the lip of the plate. Now I'm extra special careful when I wash them. But I thought they would be more durable with how they feel and look.
