  • Bought Single Packs, Using Without Fan Controller (And L-Connect Software) Which I Prefer
Bought two of these fans (single pack) for my 280mm AIO, mostly for aesthetic purposes. Probably the nicest looking fans I've ever owned. I do prefer the lighting on the sides unlike other RGB fans with the lighting in the middle. When I bought these, the 2-pack with the controller was around $80. Fortunately, the price was much cheaper when buying individually without the controller ($29/each), so that's the route I took. And honestly, I did not want the controller in my SFF ITX case resulting in more messy cables (and I didn't want the Lian Li L-Connect software installed either). In terms of the 4-pin PWM, that one went straight to the mobo CPU header. And no problems controlling speeds using the BIOS or fan software (no L-Connect needed). It's nice to have a single PWM cable for these 2 connected fans. As for the ARGB, it was just a bit more complicated. Since my AIO pump/block also has ARGB, I needed to find a splitter to use with the fan ARGB. However, these Lian Li Uni fans don't use your typical 3-pin ARGB. Rather, they use 3-pin JST SM. Luckily I found the right splitter for my needs. Basically it has a female 3-pin ARGB on one end which plugs into my mobo, a 3-pin male ARGB which connects to my AIO pump/block, and a male 3-pin JST SM which connects to the SL140. I posted a picture of the exact same type of cable as part of this review. Anyway, since I am not using the fan controller, the lighting effects are controlled by my mobo (currently using OpenRGB) and are thus not as customizable as using Lian Li's L-Connect software. However, I prefer to keep my RGB at static anyway, so I really have no need for the flashy effects the controller and L-Connect provide. In terms of performance, this fan does not push as much air as the stock ones that came with my AIO. The stock ones were 500-2000rpm with max airflow of 116 CFM (no static pressure provided by MFR). In contrast, the SL140 is rated at 500-1500rpm (mine goes to about 1450rpm max), 70.5 CFM, and static pressure of 1.67mmH2O. However, the SL140s are much quieter, and CPU temps are only about 1 degree warmer compared to my stock fans running at the same RPMs. Honestly I can run these SL140s at max rpm and they wouldn't bother me at all. If I wanted better performance and didn't care about RGB, I would have bought Arctic P14s instead. (Note that as of this writing, the fan specs shown on this Amazon listing's description are actually for the smaller SL120, not the SL140.) Overall, for me, these are really nice looking fans that perform decently and quietly on my AIO. I hope they last longer than the short 2-year warranty. ... show more

  • Theyโ€™re great.
The media could not be loaded. I love these fans. The installation was easy, and the software is intuitive.

  • One of my fans died within two months
One of the fans I ordered died after two months. Lights were working, the cable and hub functioned fine too. I contacted Lian Li for a replacement and they agreed to send one. Decent airflow and a subtle amount of RGB make this a good case fan. Cable management is much easier because of the daisy chain feature. ... show more

  • For people that don't want RGB puke, get these
I've stayed away from RGB fans for a long time. Just something about having this rainbow of colors all over the place is an eyesore to me. With the LianLi fans, this is no longer an issue, as the fan blades themselves don't light up. What you get is a great system for making an aesthetically pleasing lighting system that won't blind you with a Skittles AD everytime you look at it. The wave function is definitely my favorite, since it goes back and forth across all fans. Another great feature is that you can hook up several fans to one another, cutting the number of cables and motherboard headers way down and dramatically simplifying the setup. I have only two gripes with this product: 1) It would be great if you could reverse the fan flow programmatically to test different configurations of push/pull instead of having to flip the fan over. 2) It would be great if you could L-Connect to change the direction the fan colors are moving in Wave, since depending on your configuration, they may not be going the way you want them to. ... show more

  • Read description thoroughly
Please note you do not get what is pictured in photo. You get 1 of the 140mm fan that can be daisy chained with another. The advertising picture is deceiving. The description does state 1 though. Also fan does not light up only edge of housing.

  • Sorry only 3 Stars....HORRIBLE AIR FLOW
These are beautiful looking fans but when I felt the intake and exhaust blowing air with my hands, I barely feel any air. It seems like the blades are just spinning with no air blowing out. I also mounted these fans on my aio and my cpu temps is 5-10ยฐC higher on idle. But I like the looks though and that's it. ... show more
