  • Periodic updates are not your friend
Don't like any of the "smart" functions, which are usually avoidable except when it asks to update everytime I turn it on if I don't want the update. There is no option to skip and not be reminded. The most recent periodic update made the functionality worse. I use my computer hooked up via HD cable instead of a cable box. Before the update, it would automatically select the available input signal. Now I have to select it every time I turn it on, except now, for some reason, it doesn't always detect the source. It searches endlessly until I turn it off and on again, so I have to turn it on twice now every time. It works. Just not great. ... show more

  • Don't waste your money
I bought a LG UHD 70 'Smart' TV at Walmart and for a few weeks it worked fine while you're getting used to it and then you realize how 'un-smart' it is once the store return period has ended. In the first month, LG eliminated some of the best channels that were free as part of their WebOS. In the last couple months they have eliminated more free channels. All you'll get is a short blip at the bottom of the screen which you can go in later and look up under notifications telling you that they're gone, never an explanation of why or if they're going to come back at some point. It has been a consistent slap in the face when these notices pop up ever week or so. This TV constantly freezes, lags and is slow when changing from app to app. Changing to their touted LG Channel app is painfully slow and often doesn't work with the message service not available. Tgis TV has never worked with Alexa as advertised, despite repeated attempts to establish the connection with their required ThinQ app and contacting LG customer chat support is useless and painfully slow. The tv constantly requires going into the network settings and changing the DNS address to 8.8.8.8, even though I am not on a VPN network. The Magic Remote has nothing magic at all about it. It's another slow, agonizing, frustrating part of LG's version of so called "smart" and is just more hype marketing. The vertical banding, as it's commonly called, is so obvious it is terrible and hard to ignore when the scene is of the sky or any semi solid background. We have two fire TVs and do not have the lagging problem or any of the other problems that the LG UHD 4k TV has. I would not buy this television again and I will not buy any more LG products. An older non-smart TV that has always had a decent picture also has problems, due to uncorrected Firmware issues which LG would never resolve when it was new. I suspect the issues with their smart televisions will receive the same lack of support, as has been the case so far with our new 70inch so-called Smart TV. Big thumbs down to LG. Life ain't good when your brand new tv constantly has problems. ... show more

  • LG warranty is a scam
The 70 inch TV didnt last a year before it stopped working. I've been given the run around since November 2021 to now March 2022. The same texts and emails constantly. The warranty for tv is not real. You will not get a refund or refund or replacement. When they finally find someone to diagnose the damage, whatever company buys random parts try to fix things. They buy parts despite not even knowing the issue or what's wrong. They show up with one part and want to take multiple home trips to try and repair the tv with each part they order. When it's obvious that the tv can't be fixed, they come up with an excuse why it's not valid under warranty refund/replacement. Because they damaged screen while trying to repay. Guess who pays for these parts and labor for a broken tv that never gets fixed? You do...they want you to be inconvenienced. You not only don't get a refund/replacement, but you're stuck with a bill that's more than a new tv, only you don't get a TV. You're out what you originally paid for times two. LG is a scam company when it gets to flat screen tvs. Do not buy their TV's. These 60inch plus tvs don't get repaired. ... show more
