I have a new LG OLED 65" TV that is built into an enclosure, making external speakers necessary. After connecting the HDMI cable and power cords it was up and running quickly. I don't like the audio voice confirmations with remote adjustments but the app is a simple interface that works for me. The audio EQ choices are very good and the overall sound is very good IMO. I was very impressed with the heavy weight of the package when it was delivered. It seems to be very well made. An important consideration is that the LG soundbar integrates with the LG TV seamlessly. I returned another branded soundbar that lost the arc connection and required reboots. I went to Best Buy and tried every soundbar they had. I owned a Bose before this. This is the best sound quality. My living room is carpeted and about 15'x30' ... the subwoofer provides a richness and depth- without the over-done geeky "bass boom" that cheaper subwoofers offer. Ps i do not have an LG tv, it is outstanding for both movies and music. The ONLY complaint is that the remote control is super dorky looking. I think it should be flat, matte black and geometric to match the soundbar. ... show more

Pretty good sound - though few ways to manipulate that sound except with pre-sets. Gets loud but that leads to distortion in some of the pre-sets. Didn't know i was getting it for such a bargain compared to price seen today - so that's good for me. Would i buy at full price? Probably would have kept looking. I know there are others that sound better and cost just a bit more. As for the setup - i plugged it in and plugged in the HDMI and ta-da! That was it! Definitely a plug and play device, so that was very good. Haven't tried using the blutooth yet, though. I prefer wired whenever possible - less sync problems. ... show more

It features built-in Meridian Technology for enhanced audio, and it's compatible with my LG 86-inch TV for TV Sound Mode Share. I also added a Sonos all-in-one speaker for a complete surround sound. I heard there were some issues with this product in other reviews, but mine works well and continues to do so after a few weeks. Out of the box the bar and subwoofer paired immediately. I did not even have to follow the instructions - the light was green right away. Sound is pretty good quality for a soundbar. I have listened to many and it seems like this price range is where quality levels out. Cheap soundbars have poor sound quality, but more expensive models don't seem to have better quality - they add features, or more power to go louder. This model sits in the sweet spot between extremes. Just be sure not to pay full MSRP. One reason I bought this model specifically is because I could confirm it supports both e-ARC for my future TV, and SPDIF/TOSLINK optical for my current 10+ year old TV. Other models either lacked an optical port or I was unable to confirm that yes, they 100% had one. Using optical, my TV controls the volume of the soundbar. I don't even need the soundbar remote. TV automatically mutes its internal speakers and outputs to the soundbar along with telling the soundbar what volume level it should use. Great product, and I definitely recommend it. Just be careful because according to some reviews it appears there are some lemons out there. ... show more

SOME UPDATES to my original review (still keeping at 3* due to price): - Since my review there has been an update (to either the firmware or phone app) that allows for setting the front display to be off at all times, or to turn off after input (instead of always on). NICE in a dark room! - I moved my LG C2 to my dark basement to get better use of the contrast (it's great) and now have this soundbar hooked up to a Samsung QN90B. It works better than it did with the LG which once in a while would get out of sync with the soundbar power and I'd end up with the TV on with soundbar off, vice versa, or sound coming from both internal speakers and the soundbar. It wasn't awful but annoying and that issue has totally gone away. Unsure if the TV swap did it or the firmware updates. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I got this to pair with my nice new 65" LG Evo C2 with a new wall mount. I previously had a nice plasma sitting on a TV console, with a basic Vizio soundbar paired with a 12" Sony subwoofer. No smart connection between the TV and soundbar - so 2 remotes, kind of a pain but it sounded incredible. This soundbar, being modern and also LG, pairs perfectly with the LG TV set so once setup it turns on/off with the TV whether using Firestick or the LG remote. I mounted the sound bar below the TV and used a 2x2 (painted black to hide) to give some offset between the bar and front of the TV. I didn't want the soundbar to be covered at all by the TV so I could benefit from the incredible spatial sound bouncing off the ceiling, all the Dolby stuff. The app on cell phone provides much better control over settings than the soundbar remote - for sure use that for final setup and changing things but you don't need it day to day. The subwoofer is just a little thing - it helps to fill out all viewing but not impressed watching anything with some volume or thump (movie or music). Luckily this is in a family room which is used for watching news and sports, not gaming or movies (that TV has a real receiver and surround speakers). I got this at the (at the time) low price of $350. I would be livid if I put up the $450+ this has mostly listed for. At $250 I would be pleased and recommend this, but not worth the asking price at the moment. Pros: - Pairing and use with a newer LG TV - Control via cell phone app - Ease of setup / connection using HDMI/ARC and connection to wireless sub Cons: - Meh sound given the price (it's good, just not OMFG good) - Functionality of the provided remote - Never off front display (showing connection mode at all times - E ARC in my case) (THIS HAS BEEN FIXED!) ... show more
