  • Decent Performance with Room for Improvement
Style: S65Q
The LG S65Q 3.1ch High-Res Audio Sound Bar aims to enhance your TV audio experience with its 3.1 channel configuration, DTS Virtual:X technology, and a range of features designed to deliver immersive sound. While it offers some positive aspects, there are areas where it falls short, most notably in its shallow sound quality. One of the standout features of the LG S65Q is its 3.1 channel configuration, which includes a center channel speaker and two side-firing speakers, along with a wireless subwoofer. This setup is intended to provide a more immersive audio experience, especially for movie enthusiasts. The inclusion of DTS Virtual:X technology further enhances the soundstage, creating a wider and more enveloping sound field. The sound bar's design is sleek and stylish, easily blending into most home entertainment setups. The slim profile and compact size make it a space-efficient option, ideal for smaller living rooms or bedrooms. The wireless subwoofer adds depth to the bass and helps create a more dynamic audio experience, immersing you in the on-screen action. The LG S65Q supports High-Resolution Audio playback, allowing you to enjoy music with higher fidelity and more detail. This is a notable feature for audiophiles or those who appreciate high-quality audio reproduction. Additionally, the inclusion of Meridian audio technology adds credibility to the sound performance, promising enhanced clarity and precision. However, where the LG S65Q falls short is in its sound quality. While the sound bar produces decent sound, it lacks the depth and richness that one would expect from a higher-end audio system. The overall sound profile tends to be on the shallow side, with a lack of warmth and nuance. This can lead to a somewhat underwhelming audio experience, especially when compared to other sound bars in its price range. The Synergy TV feature is a unique addition, allowing seamless integration with compatible LG TVs. This feature enables you to control both the TV and sound bar with a single remote, simplifying the overall user experience. The HDMI connectivity options provide flexibility in connecting various devices, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of audio sources. In conclusion, the LG S65Q 3.1ch High-Res Audio Sound Bar offers a decent audio performance with some notable features. The 3.1 channel configuration, DTS Virtual:X technology, and sleek design contribute to an immersive audio experience. However, the shallow sound quality is a significant drawback, as it fails to deliver the depth and richness expected from a sound bar in this price range. While it may suffice for casual TV viewing, audio enthusiasts and those seeking a more immersive and nuanced sound experience may want to explore other options. ... show more

  • Pretty good soundbar except for one thing...
Style: S40Q
Bought a new QLED Vizio TV for my office that has amazing picture but trash speakers for the audio, so decided to buy a soundbar to mount on the wall under the TV. I have an older LG soundbar in my bedroom which I love and thought I would get a newer LG soundbar 2.1 model for the office. Sound quality is kinda meh. The older 5 year old LG soundbar in my bedroom sounds slightly better and was cheaper at the time but this new one is just in my office so not that big of a deal. What I really did not like though was the bass from the subwoofer, out of the box sounds weak. Barely any bass at all and the remote control has NO treble/bass or subwoofer gain buttons or options. I was only able to find these options after installing the LG soundbar app. Once I cranked up the subwoofer gain and Bass setting, now the soundbar sounds like I expected. But why did I HAVE to install an app to reach these settings ? What if I did not have a smartphone ? What if I was getting this for my elderly parents that would not know how to use or even install the smart app. The fact that the FULL features of the soundbar are hidden behind an external phone app is crazy to me. And the 5 year older LG soundbar actually has the treble, bass and gain buttons on its remote and again, the older soundbar was CHEAPER so there is no excuse for not having the same for the newer more expensive soundbar. ... show more

  • Better than TV speakers
Style: S65Q
I replaced a broken, 5-year-old Sansumg 5.1ch soundbar. This LG unit has no rear speakers, and the subwoofer is supposed to be placed near the TV -- which I didn't see in the product description. It sounds noticeably better than TV speakers- but that's about all. I like the ability to select audio effects. ... show more

  • Good, just one thing
Style: S65Q
It has an lcd display that is off center which to me makes the whole room look off center… Great system for the price and works with our LG tv but that display is annoying

  • Soundbar
Style: S65Q
So far, so good. I have an LG Smart TV, and the hookup was rather easy. All's in sync, and the sound is GREAT. You can adjust the equalizer to your taste, and most of all its got lots of undistorted POWER! My only problem is that I wish that more information, and suggestions concerning the equalizer settings were provided. It's nice to compare. That being said, I'm still giving this soundbar 5 Stars. ... show more

  • S75Q Paired with LG C2
Style: S75Q
I am on the fence about returning the S75Q. Using it with my LG C2 and initially connected via bluetooth. Downloaded the LG Soundbar App which said there was an update for the soundbar. Did the update and it will no longer play sound from TV if connected via bluetooth. You can hear the subwoofer working but nothing from the soundbar itself. LG support said the update must not be compatible with the TV which seems absurd considering this is a 2022 LG TV and 2022 LG soundbar. On the other hand the soundbar works when connected to TV with HDMI and sounds decent for the $350 price tag. Connecting phone via bluetooth to soundbar works fine so this is clearly a bug with the software on LG's end. The 2nd issue might be the deal breaker. You literally CAN'T TURN OFF THE DISPLAY on the soundbar. The soundbar app has an option to turn it off but when you select "always off" the app will say applied but the display stays on. The online manual says you can turn off the display using the soundbar remote but the setting doesn't exist in the menu. The display dims slightly but not enough for a dark room. For how good the LG C2 is I figured the smart move would be pairing it with an LG soundbar but that was not the case. ... show more

  • Quality
Style: S65Q
Love. On sale for around 150 this thing slaps. Worked in home theater for years and honestly this is good. Base is very decent. Voice is clear. If you have a smaller space and want a at home movie theater experience for less then 500 get this

  • Great sound at a decent price!
Style: S65Q
Love the new sound bar. The separate subwoofer takes a little getting used to, it seems to glitch a little bit at times. Otherwise I'm very pleased!
