  • Superb display, until it isn't *UPDATE*
Style: OLED65BXPUA
What can I say? I was swayed into purchasing this after seeing a 65 C9 and fell in love with the beauty of the OLEDs. After comparing price points and what made sense, the jumping point was the BX, as the B9 was no longer available, and it made little sense to get the C9 when the BX was available. We had it for roughly three weeks - again, I cannot understate the magic of this display in terms of color saturation, and the overall contrast. Unfortunately this display was no longer functional as of three weeks into ownership. While watching Netflix, the display flashed multiple colors, powered off, and is now largely unresponsive. I sincerely hope I am able to provide a refreshed review. ___________________________________________________ 8/7/2020 Update - one week in to the new unit that was sent and the magic is back. That said, we are cautiously optimistic. ... show more

  • Quit working after 2 months of use. 3 weeks later still trying to get support from customer support
Style: OLED65BXPUA
My rating is mostly for LG itself. When the TV worked all was fine. Two months after getting the 2020 version, I turn the TV on, get static, then it turns itself off. I've been fighting with "customer support" for over 3 weeks trying to get some kind of help. We did rudimentary troubleshooting during the first phone call. Since then I have to continuously contact them and am still waiting for them to find an authorized technician to identify the problem. I'm very disappointed in LG. ... show more

  • OLED is extraordinary, with adjustments
Style: OLED65BXPUA
I've been living with a perfectly fine LED-lit 55" panel for about a decade, but with 4K content becoming more prevalent on the streaming services, I decided it was time. With OLED phone screens for years, I knew it would be a missed opportunity to not get one for the TV, despite the expense. I am not disappointed. Most TV's ship with all of the crap that makes for bad pictures that people respond to (over saturated color, high sharpness, that annoying frame interpolation that makes everything look like a soap opera), but LG ships a bunch of picture profiles that turn it all off. The "filmmaker mode" has a great starting point that allows things to look as they were intended, and I only had to adjust down the contrast a little, brightness up a little, to feel like I was getting all of the dynamic range possible relative to the color grading of the source material. The deep blacks remind me of expensive plasma from back in the day. Provided that you start with those templates, it looks great without being muddy or overblown. Disney+ and some of the Amazon content show off some really great capability for the TV. The Marvel movies and newer animated movies are staggeringly great eye candy. The unit itself is alarmingly thin but sturdy. I'm using the stand, and it was awkward to attach it while the screen flexed. The Wii-style remote is completely annoying, just give me buttons, please. Fortunately I'm using a FireTV and that remote covers everything, including the volume on the attached receiver getting sound via optical. The upscaling from an Xbox One S looks surprisingly good, and old DVD's played via the Xbox aren't as noisy as I expected. This missing final star is because the software handling the settings is a mess. For example, you can't use ARC without also enabling CEC, which creates other problems. With a FireTV on HDMI-4, trying to switch to any other input forces it back to 4 every time. It's infuriating. To solve this I had to turn off ARC and CEC (they're on different settings but programmatically connected) and use an optical cable back to the receiver. ... show more

A line appeared close to the middle of the screen 8 days of having the tv. Also had a lot of trouble with shipping.

  • Not worth the money.

The picture glitches sometimes — not real happy for the amount of money this thing cost.

  • DO NOT BUY!!!
Style: OLED65BXPUA
Buying this TV was a mistake. It’s really slow and takes forever to change channels or input sources. It also doesn’t actually work well with the HomeKit features you’re probably buying this for. It’s super janky, expensive and you have to restrict it from the internet or it allows LG and others to monitor you 24/7. All in all, this was a waste of money and I regret my purchase. DO NOT BUY. ... show more

  • TV great, Remote has no Magic, Doubful will get free PL5
Style: OLED65BXPUA
OLED BX is as close as one can get to the old plasma TV's, but 100 lbs lighter (I really wished I kept those regardless of weight). For those that did not have a plasma, sorry not a review for you on picture. Not sure where the Magic is yet in the remote, albeit is a fully functional remote, just not sure if you need to be a magician to yield its potential. ***updated*** Changed to 5 stars after using remote more and I did get an email from LG that my PL5 will ship soon. For the LG PL5 speaker that is offered, don't buy because of that, doubtful I will ever get as website failed on numerous browsers and directed me to '[email protected]' for support, I have not heard back. ... show more

  • Well worth the money in COVIDland
Style: OLED65BXPUA
My fiancé surprised me with this TV for Christmas. Sale at Best Buy so I'm not a "verified buyer". Had a 4K Sony player and quite a few discs already and bought a Platin Monaco WISA wireless 5.1 to go with it. WOW. I've been going through my blurays and 4ks. Anything that is dark and in the shadows like Aliens or Pitch Black shows you details you've never seen before. Very colorful films like Guardians of the Galaxy and 5th Element pop off the screen. Wilderness films like Seven Worlds one planet make the animals seem right there. My fiancé even admitted that it made Mama Mia look much better. I had asked for a CX, and she got a BX. We have seen motion artifact a couple times early on, but not lately. The LG interface took a bit to figure out, and why the heck do they not have Spectrum or HBO Max, but paired it with a ROKU box and we have way too many streaming options now. The LG remote runs the TV, Sony 4k, and Roku. Don't need an amplifier now with the WISA speakers. Extremely happy and excited for movie releases now. ... show more
