I am not one for leaving reviews, but as I sit here in over 100 degree weather and out hundreds of dollars, I am frustrated enough to need to share. We picked this air conditioning unit hoping it would be the perfect choice for our home and family. An air conditioner is an investment, but with the heat and worrying about my kids and animals it is necessary. I have reached out to LG to get help several times, but honestly I would like to just get a new one to replace this one or a full refund so I can find one elsewhere. We set it up, turned it on, and were met with warm air and what sounded like the power was almost flickering. Less than 10 minutes of run time and it shut off. It has not turned back on. We have replaced everything that is possible besides just the machine itself. I honestly think we were sent a defective machine and we are still suffering in this heat. There was also an absolutely disgusting smell when it was running, so strong that it made my kids nauseous, but when I spoke to them, every time they said it was normal. LG has always been a trusted brand for me, but this experience has completely ruined my opinion of them. Do not buy this air conditioner and I no longer recommend LG to anyone. I am disappointed that a trusted brand is no longer what I thought they were and miserable as we sit in this heat suffering. ... show more

Great AC, Will FREEZE YOU OUT ! THE ONLY PROBLEM WE HAD WAS THEY WANTED YOU TO SLIDE THE MOTOR OUT ON A TRAY AND TO SET IT UP AND IT GOT STUCK, BUT THE WIFE FIGURED OUT HOW TO ACCOMPLISH WHAT WAS WRONG.

This unit is a LOT more powerful than I thought. Way better performance than I think the product states. I measured the distance and with fan speed on the second setting (1-3 settings) I could feel the air 18 feet away as if I had a fan in front of me. The description undersells it. I, personally, found it difficult to set up but I'm not particularly mechanically inclined. It's heavy, for sure, but it has brackets to help support. I haven't seen the electric bill so I can't say what the value is specifically; however, it does have an eco setting that is well rated. The remote actually has all the functions of the unit panel itself which isn't as common as one would think. For noise, I haven't found it to be any louder than a regular fan. It generally fades into the white noise and helps drown out the outside noises of traffic and construction that increase with the summer months. ... show more

This LG window AC is awesome, produces a quiet powerful cool that quickly cover a large area..I have to admit it I was sceptical it would get the job done as it didn't produce louder fan noise with my previous units. However, boy was I wrong...it's a quiet monster that really gets the job done..

Regretted this purchase almost instantly after seeing the condition of the shipping box. Unit overall was ok but a handful of fins were crushed as a result of poor handling. The "case" as its called was a mess to install, even on a new window. Had I known, I would have bought a shelf and called it done. Holes were drilled offset when they shouldn't have been, no way to get support feet in proper position on sill to carry weight evenly, so had to use scrap wood shims. Fired it up and expected room to be cold after a bit and it never reached below 71 degrees with unit set to 68. The former unit, a Midea U Shape 12,000 btu, had the room frigid. Only got rid of it due to a mold recall. How this unit is so highly rated and has a higher output rating is beyond me. ... show more
