The Central Air in my condo doesn't quite reach the second bedroom/office I've got set up, which also happens to be the room most influenced by outside temperatures. So I needed to add some extra cooling to that room, which is hard considering the small room size. I've been told by people smarter than me that you always want to slightly undersize an air conditioner, or else the cooling cycles will be too short to sufficiently dehumidify the air leading to a cold and clammy environment. This was the only unit I could find less than 8k BTU. But no regrets from lack of choice; this unit has been doing an excellent job of keeping the room cool, despite the technology heat generated by the office/part-time-teenager-bedroom usage. Only wish was that the unit also had heater capability, but I couldn't find any unit under 14k BTU that had that feature; assume it is a size restriction. ... show more

This is the worst AC I've ever had. It doest work consistently for more than a few hours a night begotten shutting itself down. There's no error code, it just doesn't work. I've done all the troubleshooting. I'm going to have to return it but it's so heavy it's a huge hassle. Wish I'd never purchased this. ... show more

I had to get something to help with this heat. I'm using it in the LR area that is too large for 6000 BTU but this unit pumps out a lot of cold air. Had to really finagle the exhaust hose to vent it and unfortunately this particular window sill is about 4 feet off the floor. They do provide some foam weather stripping to seal it and I did not get a perfect fit but finished the job with duct tape. Came out okay. Overall I'm impressed with the quality and if I can move it to a smaller room upstairs it will be perfect. It's a bit heavy so have someone to help you with it when it is delivered. ... show more

My wife lives in a 120 sq ft trailer in Northern Arizona (So when it's 114 in Phoeniz it's 84-90 where she is) and this air conditioner had great reviews. It is rated to cool 335 sq feet, so I thought that since it was supposed to be able to cool almost three times the sq foot of her trailer it should work fine for her. It does not. Can't figure out why, though she has improved the cooling by making sure everything was sealed and there were no cracks to leak heat. It got a little better. She put reflective coating over the windows and it got a little better. (I wish I had gotten her the bigger and more powerful model as it might have worked better. ... show more

Very loud. My room is maybe 10x10 feet so it’s a pretty small room. Took me a couple of weeks to get used to it. The sound gave me headaches and I almost returned it. Only reason why I didn’t return it was because it’s heavy and I didn’t want to go through the hassle of returning. After a couple of weeks, it became ok. I don’t know if people in my meetings can hear it when it’s on… but they haven’t spoken about it to me either. So I think my computer has been able to remove the background noise just fine. ... show more

I keep my house at 78 degrees, 24/7 but can't get a good nights sleep at this temp. this unit is life changing for me. I put it at 74 and sleep through the night. I'd like to keep it colder, but have to wait to see how much it increased my electric bill this month. I've had it for 2 weeks and wonder how I ever slept without it. I live in Houston where we are HUMID and are experiencing over 100 degrees each day., 80 at night. Tthis AC handles it just fine, and I got the smallest one since my bedroom is 210 sf. it took about 3 nights to get used to the increased noice, but it sounds like white noise to me.
