Great OLED; minor nit-picking
A little background on me - I am an IT professional, screen snob. I have had a 65 inch LG OLED since 2018 (C7) and have been spoiled ever since. I do extensive research and even my own hands-on comparisons when able. That said, this was my second LG OLED, that I ultimately ended up returning, though not due to the quality or performance of the product. I purchased the 55 inch C1 with the intentions of using it as a PC monitor. This is not unknown territory for me- I have been using a 65 inch Hisense H9G as my primary monitor for almost 2 years. To save you the details, I ended up deciding on a traditional monitor (38 inch ultrawide - LG 38wn95c), because I realized I was having some eye strain due to 2 key factors. 1.) My 65 inch monitor was wall-mounted, and my focal distance was anywhere from 36-48 inches from center. This is a weird distance and ended up straining my eyes more than i realized even though I could not discern any pixels. 2.) Additionally, the change in focal distance from center to corner did not help. After making my move to the LG 38 inch monitor, I decided to replace my Hisense 65 inch H9G with the LG 55 inch C1. After all, moving from any panel to an OLED panel is a significant and noticeable upgrade, or I thought. I performed a side-by-side comparison of the Hisense and LG. To my HUGE surprise, the Hisense performed just as well (even better in some scenes) as the LG in 98% (totally technical metric I captured... really just IMHO) of the scenes I viewed. I watched content intended for OLED panels, the new movie "The Batman", and Quantum Color-centered content. While the LG OLED won overall, the margin of victory for it was far too slim- one I would not notice in every day/night watching. The only scenes I could discernibly tell a difference between the 2 was during a black screen that had a fire, smoke/gaseous particulate, etc. The Hisense struggled to filter out all of the ultra-fine particles in the picture and compression artifacts/haze/glow/etc. was very visible. This is totally expected by a non-OLED and so few scenes actually present this- at least for what I watch. Even with star-field scenes, the Hisense performed just as strongly as the LG OLED. For me, in the end, I paid $999 for the 65 inch Hisense H9G about 2 years ago and I had a buyer lined up for $700. The 55 inch LG C1 OLED would have cost me $1100, but I could not stomach the thought of downgrading 10 inches in screen in order to reap the benefit of the 2% of content I would miss without an OLED. All that to say, the LG C1 is an amazing panel with a crystal clear picture, but I will now be waiting for a QD-OLED as a justifiable upgrade for me. ... show more

Great TV
Couldn't be happier with the set. Has really rich blacks and brings out the detail in dark scenes and color pops during brighter scenes. I know they say QLED TVs come out much brighter, but I personally don't like them to be very bright. After a while it's a strain on my eyes. This one seems more than bright enough. You do have to play with the settings a bit to get the best picture, but there are plenty of YouTube videos that show you how, very easily. ... show more

Horrible
Size: 65 Inch
Stupid updates constantly and it disconnects from my WiFi!!!! I hate this tv. You have to press the power button repeatedly to get it to turn off and on. It’s a complete waste of money and time. I’m going to sell it. I will never purchase another LG tv

Absolutely great TV, but the CPS Protection Plan was not delivered by seller.
UPDATE: Beach Camera was very responsive to my issue and has gotten CPS registration completed. Seems the Protection Plan card should have been attached to the TV box. It was not. Problem corrected and glad everything worked out easily once I was talking to the right person. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Absolutely great TV, but the CPS Protection Plan was not delivered by seller and AMZ was zero help. DO NOT buy from Beach Camera, I contacted seller through AMZ about the Protection Plan. Never heard back. I'm in the middle of a double move from house->apt->house and having to chase this is ridiculous. At least AMZ finally gave me a customer service number to call for Beach Camera. I'm now way past the return date and have not registered. I better be able to sign-up! BTW - the TV is fantastic. Best picture I've seen, especially for the price. Been using for about 45 days with no issues. Love it. ... show more

If you have the budget buy this Tv!
I’m very pleased with the C1! if your looking for a gaming TV that is not a 2022 model stop looking and get the LG C1. If your more into movies Sony Oled’s might have a slight edge but the C1 is awesome and a well rounded TV. Hands down the best gaming TV of 2021.

WOW. what a beautiful tv this is.
It is a beauty. I am mesmerized by the quality, sound, colors, etc. The best TV anyone can buy. Just blown away. Only one thing that I would like to see improved and that is the remote. Needs to be backlit. Can't see the buttons at night. Can you look into seeing if a backlit remote can be a item you can accomplish? Other than that. I just love my TV. Thanks ... show more

Best TV purchased to date
Love picture, sound, easy setup, etc. Want to make it perfect? Include option to use FireTV (with all features of FireTV Cube) instead of WebOS! I'm too tied into the Alexa ecosystem to learn and use yet another ecosystem! Obviously I purchased anyway and just use FireTV Cube as is...
