Measure your window opening height. Do not rely on the product dimensions in the listing. The product box says the window opening must be a minimum of 19 inches for the 2-ton LW2422IVSM! My 32x32 garage window did not open large enough so I permanently removed both sashes to install the unit. I built a new internal window frame from 2x4 pieces. Because the unit weighs over 100 pounds, I first purchased and installed the Ivation Support Bracket https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CZH178M which was pretty simple. Some small support brackets are included with the air conditioner but a sturdy external bracket gave me piece of mind and reduced the possibility that I would drop the whole air conditioner out the window during installation. The guts of the air conditioner slide out of its cabinet and the empty outer shell is next installed in the window. Then the air conditioner guts are slid into the installed cabinet. This is a good method so that the lightweight cabinet can be adjusted and secured. The unit should tilt down slightly outside -- about 2 degrees or 0.5 inch slope -- so the condensate will drain properly. I removed the side curtain guide at the top of the cabinet and did not install the included side curtains. I chose to cut 0.25 inch clear polycarbonate sheet to fill the rest of the window opening. 0.125 inch polycarbonate sheet would probably have been adequate. Initial startup had about ten seconds of troublesome fan noise which disappeared on its own. Now the unit is very quiet and blows super cold air. Super cold! The controls on the unit and on the remote are simple enough. The installation instructions were understandable. ... show more

Died in less than 1 year, still under mfr warranty - mfr sent over two technicians to tell us why it could not be repaired - ( I am an engineer - all lies in my opinion) - one technician did not even work on air conditioners - turns out the main control board fried from a 1 leg of 220v brownout - and the real reason lg would not repair it is because they did not have any replacement control boards. none in the US - none in Korea. LG refused to send a new replacement unit. So now I am left hiring an attorney - Last LG crap I EVER buy ! ... show more

I received this on time, the box was heavily damaged however the actual unit looked to be in pretty good shape. Giving this 4 stars instead of 5 mainly because of shipping and condition the box was in, as well as how it appeared that this unit may have been previously opened and then returned. I purchased the 23,500 BTU unit and installed it through our wall to replace our much older Amana. All in all, I am happy with how much cool air this provides to our upper level, as well as how very quiet it is. I am hoping this unit will last several years. ... show more

We are completely satisfied with our unit—LG has truly come a long way! The system works flawlessly, and I love that I can control it remotely from the app so i could be at work or anywhere I go, allowing me to turn it on or off at will. The unit comes with a different plug, but we already had a solution in place by cutting off the cord and connecting the wires directly to our breaker, which worked perfectly.     • Cooled an entire 1200sq ft house

Solid unit turned the office into an ice box while cooling the rest of the house too. Needed to use a step down transformer box (240v to 110v at 5000watt). The dual inverter really kept power consumption down. Our central AC went bust last summer and that thing was eating $150-170 of electricity every year! This LG 23500 BTU unit was only eating $80-90 !! Could not ask for better efficiency in Florida heat! Loud? Not as much as the horrific Frigidaire units and the hum it generates is actually soothing white noise rather than a loud compressor noise which is otherwise typical from such units.. this was the best AC I’ve ever used. The Alexa integration is practically non existent however so be prepared to set a good schedule for off/on and various temps based on your seasons within the ThinQ LG app itself. Alexa can’t do anything because she always thinks the unit is in a mode that can’t be adjusted when you’re using the ‘efficiency’ mode which is what utilizes the dual inverter system, to keep the cooling variable and less power hungry. She can turn the unit on and off if needed and also switch modes to COOL or FAN and then you can adjust temps and fan speed and then switch back to the efficiency mode. Not an ideal way of handling things but it works. 8/10 overall I loved the reduction in electricity cost and the sound was totally bearable. Super great unit ... show more
