Arrived cracked in the box and we didn’t notice until we put it in the wall. Wife is pregnant so I couldn’t have it removed shipped back, etc…was a big bummer. I ended up using some flex tape to fix the cracks. The plastic components are low quality you need to be careful of how hard you pull them as they break easy. Other than the above the unit gets the job done and cools the room really well. The noise is a low-mid hum which’s quite calming. This wall air conditioner has done a good job cooling larger rooms and provides the added convenience of supplemental heat for cooler months. The 10,000 BTU capacity feels suitable for bedrooms, living spaces, or medium sized rooms up to the recommended coverage area. I like having both cooling and heating functions in one unit because it makes it useful throughout much of the year. The remote control is convenient for adjusting settings from across the room, and the auto restart feature is helpful after power interruptions. The cooling performance has been effective at bringing down room temperatures relatively quickly, and the airflow settings provide enough flexibility for different comfort preferences. The unit also feels solid and well built, as expected from a well known brand. Installation requires a proper wall sleeve and a 230V outlet, so it is important to confirm compatibility before purchasing. This unit works great for chilling a room or for setting up a walk in freezer. This unit is compatible with the coolbot system so you can use the standard setup and cool your room to 60 deg F or dry out the air, or you can buy a coolbot and really cool your room. The unit has an easy to use control system and it is an accurate one. The timer function works great and does stop the unit at the times up point. The machine does go to its last state when the power is cut or goes out. If your unit is set to 63 for example and you have an outage, when the power is back up it will resume to cooling the area to 63 deg. The system does have an eco mode and it works well. Depending on your need even in Eco mode the unit will work great! Noise is also not an issue and the only time it gets loud is at start up and it’s just the compressor starting up. ... show more

I purchased this LG 10,000 BTU through-the-wall air conditioner because I've had good experiences with several other LG products in my home and expected the same level of quality. PROS:The unit does a great job cooling the room and is rated for spaces up to 450 square feet. The supplemental heat feature is a nice bonus, and I appreciate that it comes with a remote control and auto-restart functionality. CONS: I was a little disappointed overall, the trim face feels somewhat flimsy and not as durable as I expected from LG. My biggest concern, however, is the noise level. This unit is noticeably louder than I anticipated, especially when the compressor cycles on. If you're planning to install it in a bedroom or another space where quiet operation is important, that's definitely something to consider. Overall, this air conditioner performs its primary function well—it cools efficiently, the controls are simple to use, and once installed it requires very little attention. If noise isn't a major concern for you, this could still be a solid choice. At this price point, I'd choose a portable unit as others mention and save a bit of money and time with an install. ... show more

I have several LG products in my home, so I had high expectations for this unit. It definitely cools the room well, but I was a little disappointed overall. The biggest downside for me is the noise. It is noticeably louder than I expected, especially when the compressor kicks on. If you are planning to use it in a bedroom or somewhere you like it quiet, that is something to keep in mind. I actually prefer our LG portable air conditioner over this through-the-wall unit. The portable model has been quieter in our experience and has been just as effective at keeping the room comfortable. That said, this unit does what it is supposed to do. It cools well, the controls are easy to use, and once it is installed you do not have to think much about it. If noise is not a big concern for you, it may still be a good option. For me, though, I would choose the LG portable AC instead. ... show more
