I initially got this solar powered fountain because I have a small birdbath and I liked idea of the water cascading back into the bowl instead of a spray that empties the birdbath by splashing water out over the edge. Unfortunately the fountain has no weight to it. It won't stand in place for more than a few seconds before it starts to move around and eventually tilt. I took off one of the tiers to see it that would make it more balanced. It did not. It made it lighter and easier to move around more. I assume the reason a small round dish is provided is to fill up with weight. No mention of using additional weight is suggested in the instructions, so it's just a guess on my part. There are also additional heads provided to use instead of the cascade option, but without direct sunlight (must have zero cloud interference), the pump too weak to produce any functional spray. These solar fountains don't store energy. Once the sun isn't shining directly on the panel there is no more energy to operate the pump. No pump, no water. And how much pump power you get is directly related to how much direct sunlight is hitting the panel. If clouds block the sun rays from reaching the panel or it's a gloomy day you have at best a weakened flow, at worst no flow at all. This one comes with a 10ft. cord attached to the solar panel and the pump, so you have quite a distance you can place it away for the birdbath. The panel can either be staked into the ground or mounted on a wall. Also provided with this fountain is a USB charging cable to allow you to plug it in (power brick not provided), so when days are cloudy or gloomy you can plug that in and get the pump to fire up. There are a few problems with this option for me. One is that my power brick that I would have to plug that into is for inside use only. Second, The cord would be far too short so I would have to use an extension cord to reach power outlets. And third, I don't have any electrical outlets outside near my birdbath. I think a different designed solar fountain might work better.

This is a nice little fountain. I really like that it has a USB adapter so I can use it inside or outside in the shade. If using the solar panel, any tiny bit of shade will stop the stream of water so I’m using a power bank for my shaded little pond. I chose to take the tiers off for now so as not to disrupt my plants too much but they’re just like the picture. It’s nice to have the option of other fountain heads for future use.

I like the fountain. It works well and is cute, for the price. Easy to use with solar panel and no water to run to it. However, I had to remove it from my birdbath, because my birds would fly towards it, and stop short and turn around. I gave it a couple of days for them to accept it, but it didn't work.

The media could not be loaded. This bird bath fountain is a great buy for its price. It's made of plastic, which is typical for its cost ($19.99 at the time of this review). As there is no solar bank, it operates only when the sun is shining. It can function on a cloudy day or when the sun is partially obscured, but with reduced efficiency (less water flow). The fountain starts working as soon as it gets sunlight. I unboxed it outdoors, and once I removed the solar panel, the pump immediately started. I appreciate its solar feature as I'm using it in a bird bath near my greenhouse where there's no electricity access. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with it, especially enjoying the soothing trickling sound while sitting on my garden bench.
