    • Good Multi-Way, Multi sensor setup
Purchased two of the Leviton DOS15-1LZ Decora Occupancy Motion Sensor In-Wall Switches for a multi-sensor setup for the stairs. The installation is straight forward. The sensor switches work as they should. The only complaint I have is that there is no adjustment for the sensing area coverage. I have implemented a workaround by putting masking tape over the sensor area to block off the area where I don't want the sensors to get triggered. So people who walk by the hallway will not trigger the stair sensor to turn on the light. It depends on the location of your light switch; this may not be an issue for you. ... show more

    • Effective, handles more current than the usual motion switch
Bought this to automate turning on a small space heater when a person enters the room. Works well and has adjustable settings (like motion sensitivity, ambient light sensing, etc.) like other good motion sensors. But this one has a larger current capacity to handle the current required for a small space heater. Any reasonably handy person can install this and set it up. The only shortcoming was the instructions which only had black and white sketches of the wiring that didn't refer to actual wire colors coming from the back of the switch. So I had to match the wire with its position on the switch to know which is which. Minor issue, but an obvious miss since even black and white instructions could include textual descriptions next to each wire shown like "Green - ground", "White - neutral", etc. Or the wires themselves could be labeled. ... show more

    • Works great, semi-difficult install
So far, the switch is working great. I click it on, and it shuts off 20 minutes just like I set it to. Great having the lights shut off automatically since my 6 year old often forgets to turn them off. Installation was straightforward with the included instructions. For new work, this would be an easy install as you can run wires needed. For old work, as I did, I had to run a neutral wire from the ceiling junction box, as all I had ran previously was just a switch leg. They have others that don't require a neutral, but for the higher amperage that I needed, this is what they have. All in, took less than an hour to install, and this included running a neutral leg to the switch, and replacing the box I had it in. It is deep and wide, so it didn't fit in the box I had. No biggie, just swapped it out for a wider deeper box. Without these issues, I would have had it installed and working inside of 5 minutes. Overall, works well, as described, just would have been nice to not have to run that extra neutral wire, but would be happy to buy again. ... show more

    • 15AMP version allows for a more diverse set up
Excellent product. In fact, its the only motion detector on the market that can support 15amps output. If you are unsure what that means, it means that other products have lower amperage output that can only be used for a lamp or or ceiling light fixture. Those items usually need lower amount of amps. This product could support a coffee maker or tv, or ceiling fan, items that draw a higher amount of electricity. In my scenario, i needed to power a tv that is plugged into a power outlet that to turn on when i walk into a room. power outlets are 15amps. this is the only product that can safely provide power to an outlet running 15amp items. ... show more

    • Great for top and bottom of stairs. Instructions wrong for additional switches. Tech support great!
Two of these can replace 3-way switches at the top and bottom of stairs. The instructions are clear for this: you just have to figure out which box connects to the breaker. Alternatively, you can have one motion detector switch and multiple companion switches, but once you have two DOS15-1LZ you can't add any companion switches. The instructions (Features) imply you can, hence only 4-stars, but the companion switch DD0SR-DLZ instructions say you can't. I called tech support to settle this.     • A great product and a great company
It's a great sensor, some amazing settings and programability. The finer details can be found in their product descriptions and videos.... the biggest reason to buy this specific model is it does not require a neutral for it to do its job. So, it works in a location, that really could use a motion sensor, but has not had a fully updated wiring done. That alone makes it a great product. Have a wonderful 2024!!! ... show more
