Solid build and easy to use. Unlike some replacement plug terminals that require wrapping the wire around contact screws, this unit has box clamps. No fumbling with the wires. Strip, twist, insert, tighten.. done. Similar to a residential outlet, the terminal screw colors are also simple to decipher,.. brass for hot, silver for neutral and green for ground. I used it to replace a 14awg cord plug, but it will easily accept 12awg wire as well. I didn't measure, but I'd say it would accept thick insulated round and flat jacketed cords. Will definitely buy it again if/when needed. ... show more

Quality plug. Good design, heavy duty. I just wish it was designed to accommodate larger gauge wires. I used it to replace a damaged plug on a 50' heavy duty 15 amp extension cord that had large wires, perhaps 10 gauge....too large for the plug's terminal clamps.
