Today was the first below freezing day were I live and finally decided to try out this winter coat. First, it is a cocoon coat so it is meant to be oversized which it very much is. I got a medium but could have sized down. There is plenty of room for lots of layers. This coat kept me very warm on my walk today. The double breasted design kept the wind and cold out. There is also a top button that allows the top flap to close to keep the chest warm. The patch pockets are large and there is a lot of room for my hands plus other stuff and they kept me hands warm. I do not consider this coat to be a fashion statement, I have plenty of those. I do consider it to be a very warm, practical cold weather coat.

I ordered this quilted cocoon coat because I needed a warmer winter coat that wasn't so constricting nor overly bulky, wasn't heavy to wear and would go well with leggings or jeans, while offering coverage to mid thigh. This Levi's cocoon coat is very well made and is really soft and cozy to wear. The outer fabric is really soft and warm and washes up nicely without shrinking or fading. I've been wearing this coat off and on over the last 3 months and it's been perfect for those cold windy days without having to over layer underneath. I am 5'6"/165lbs and ordered the large based off of the size chart but could have likely gotten away with a medium but I often times wear sweat shirts so this fits perfectly while giving me breathing room over top of bulkier items without feeling constricted in any movement. The sleeves are also well placed and ample enough that you can still carry your bag/backpack/purse while wearing this coat without the pinching or bunching up that happens in the sleeve/armpit/chest areas. The coat is very complimentary with most items in my wardrobe (minus formal wear) and I've been able to get a lot of wear out of this coat the last 2 months and I have gotten quite a few compliments on how cozy, snuggly, soft and warm this coat looks and how well it looks with jeans and a pair of boots, making it perfect for my outdoor chores (worn between 15-45F degree weather thus far). The pockets are also very well placed and big enough that I can safely carry my phone, wallet, keys and charger without needing to always bring my bag with me and I can still place both hands into the pockets that are softly lined with a nice quality cotton. The quilted stitching and inner lining of the coat are also well done and made to last for many years without showing signs of wear so I really liked that the construction all the way around was well done. The coat washes up nicely in my washing machine with my other clothes and then tossed into the dryer to dry. The coat comes out softer and fluffier without fuzzies or lint shedding and I have not noticed any deformation or twisting of fabric after a dozen or so washes. The coat folds up to fit into a space saver bag for travel or packing away between seasons or has a nicely made and placed loop at the back neck to hang on your coat rack. I've been using the loop to hang my coat for the last 3 months and I haven't noticed any stretching or wear from the weight of the coat on the loop. Overall, this has been a wonderful coat and I look forward to many more years of use! I would order this coat as a gift for a friend who is looking for a warm, cozy outdoor coat to help them stay warm while running errands or doing outdoor chores. I would also recommend this coat as a gift for someone you love that has need of a great outdoor cocoon coat to add to their wintery wardrobe, to help them stay fashionable and warm with their day to day outdoor activities!

This coat is beautiful - the quality is top notch, it is WARM and so so comfortable. it's also HUMONGOUS on me. But, honestly, I love it and will wear it. I can't even take off a star for the sizing - it says its oversized and it says it's a cocoon coat. It is exactly that. It fits me, but yes, it fits me like I am a caterpillar getting ready to shed my layers and show off the beautiful butterfly I am (or, in this case, the beautiful outfit I have on under the coat). I almost always buy mediums (sometimes large) in winter jackets because you need to layer in the winter. So I ordered a medium but I probably could have gotten an XXS and it would fit. You will not be able to use this for any sort of winter sport requiring quick movements and reflexes - snowboarding, speed skating, slalom skiing, snowmobile racing etc. unless you plan to use the jacket for extra protection in case you fall. However, what a fashion statement this would make at an igloo party, or while ice fishing OR you could wear to one of those winter beach swim events and fling it off as you gallantly run into the freezing water. At least you can feel secure knowing you'll be warm when you get out!

This cost is a mix between a puffer coat and a trench coat and it has double linings that give you the ultimate earth and protection for the cold weather. The pattern is gorgeous and super unique! I love how I’ve been complimented on it every time I wear it out of the house and for no one to know it’s Levi’s and sold via Amazon is always my favorite party trick to use! It’s double breasted buttons open and close easily even with it being on such thick fabric! This is an amazing coat for Midwest winters, for sure!
